Instagram Roundup 06.10.17

Greetings, friends! Happy Saturday! I’ve got an Instagram Roundup today.

It’s been almost a month since the last one so this is a bit of a doozie. A lot of things I’ve worn over the past month are selling out. It’s hard to believe, since summer weather is just finally getting here, but I think the stores are already starting to clear out their summer inventory in preparation for fall. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale starts on July 21st. (Not that it’s written on my calendar in red or anything… ha!)

Let’s just dive right in. I’m going to try and keep the commentary to a minimum today.

If you see some things that appear to be sold out, keep an eye on them. Especially at Nordstrom, they tend to restock a random size or two when they get returns so sometimes you can get lucky. Also check out Nordstrom Rack, because sometimes they move things over there.

So it’s the first weekend of summer, at least for those of us who had our last day of school yesterday. (I know some of your kids have been out for a while, and others of you don’t have kids at home.) It’s also the first weekend when it’s actually FELT like summer here in eastern Pennsylvania.

What’s everyone up to? I’d love to get over to our swim club sometime today. It looks like a beautiful afternoon for it. I also need to shoot a few outfits this morning, and that’s about the extent of our excitement for the day.

My son is heading off in a few days to be a camp counselor for 5 weeks, so we may have some things we need to do to help get him ready for that. It’s going to be weird to have him gone for so long, but I guess it’s good preparation for sending him off to college in a little over a year.

The girls don’t have any plans to be away overnight this year, but I did sign up my youngest for a week of day camp at the end of the month. It’s always good for them to have a few weeks of something to do to break up the summer. We also have plans to go to Maine for our annual extended  family vacation, and then we’re renting a house at the Jersey shore for a week so there’s a lot to look forward to.

I hope you all have a fantastic day!

  1. Yay for pool weather!! Our grandkids have one last full week of school, then the following Monday, they go for an hour which completes our 180 days of school rule! Love all of your outfits, great inspiration! That navy dress is by far a favorite of mine, a real classy eye catcher! Love the mustard color sandals as well.
Enjoy your trip to Maine! I’m so jealous….we had to postphone ours, as my hubby is still recovering from his hip replacement. He is a big time beach walker, so with his drop foot issue, we thought it’s better to wait till fall, and give him more recovery time.
Enjoy the weekend, it will finally be hot, hot, hot!

  2. You look so nice in so many different styles! In your line of work, I totally get why you took the course to learn your body shape. I have laundered my tee from Nordstrom that has the knotted front, in the burgundy color, but haven’t worn it yet. Your trip to Maine and the Jershey shore sound so nice! I hope your son will be able to go on at least one of them. The heat and humidity has arrived in south central GA, along with tiny pesky knats, so our time even on the front porch is about to be rather limited. I have two tomato plants to plant in big pots, clean the tile floors & bathrooms, and do some laundry. At some point we will go on a leisurely ride in the side by side because Larry wants to do something normal, and probably visit with a few neighbors. We’re always on the lookout for turkeys and deer; we might even see snakes that need to be shot, coyotes, and just signs of wild pigs.
    Have a blessed weekend!

  3. Hi there! You mention needing to wash your Converse in the post. I’m wondering how you clean and dry yours. I’ve never done anything beyond spot wiping because I’m afraid I’ll ruin my pair.
    Thanks!!

  4. Good morning! What size are you wearing in the twist front tee? The reviews are mixed-some say it runs small, some say it runs large. It’s a great top!

  6. First, I’m wondering too how you clean your chucks. Don’t they turn yellowish once washed? I loved looking at your post today, seeing lots on sale. I just received the Old Navy tee shirt dress in grey in the mail, but it was too form fitting. I’m much shorter than you, so ordered the small and usually Old Navy runs large on me. I lost $7 shipping, so now don’t want to order another size. The length was great though, so we will see. I think its a great alternative to shorts. Have a great first weekend of summer for your family. Going to a pool sounds great. 🙂

  7. Yes I also want to know how you wash your chucks!! Mine are gross and I need to order a new pair but man being able to clean these up would be nice even if it’s to have a backup pair.

  8. Such cute summer outfits. I am just now getting around to figuring out what I need in my summer wardrobe, and the stores are pulling the styles and bringing out fall! Although, I do love a good sale! Your comment about your son being gone for 5 weeks came at such a good time. I just sent my 13 year old off on his first multi-day overnight camp. I find myself waffling between nervousness for him (he doesn’t know anyone going) and pride that he can handle it. In the end, we all know our job is to prepare them for life outside of our walls, etc., but it is quite a journey. It is helpful to know that we moms aren’t in it alone. Thank you for sharing.
