Instagram Roundup

Good morning from the gorgeous Eastern Shore of Maryland!

hyatt chesapeake

This is my second morning waking up to this view, although yesterday it was raining, and today is is perfectly gorgeous. I’m looking forward to hanging out by the pool most of the day and generally being lazy.

I have two weeks worth of Instagram snaps to share with you. Even though I don’t feel like I post excessively on Instagram, there are TONS of pictures! I will probably leave a few out just because it’s definitely overkill this time. I guess that’s what I get for skipping a week!

Here we go, in no particular order . . . I wore this outfit for a day at home. It’s simple, but I love the color palette.

LOFT Verano Linen Shirttail Tee // similar white jean shorts here and here // Tory Burch Miller Sandals // Kendra Scott Elisa Pendant in Rose Quartz // beaded bangles c/o Alex and Ani // Fitbit Bracelet

These cute wedge sandals were sent to me from Crocs. Don’t miss my Crocs giveaway and the rest of the outfit details in this post: Casual Summer Outfit Featuring Crocs Wedges.

Just a quick selfie of what I wore to a bluegrass festival a few weekends ago. I ended up carrying a tote, not this small crossbody. I think I took this picture before I went out to run some errands earlier in the day.

graphic tee from Kohl’s // similar white jean shorts here and here // Sam Edelman Greta Sandals // Tory Burch Serif T Saddlebag // Fitbit Wrap Bracelet // D Yurman Link Bracelet // Silpada Half Moon Earrings

This is another casual day at home. It was cooler that day so I took the opportunity to wear cropped jeans for a change.

Gap Slub Stripe Roll Sleeve Tee // similar crop jeans // Converse Shoreline sneakers // Stella & Dot Quinn Cuff, Engravable Disc Necklace, and Bungalow Hoops

I wore this to church a few weeks ago, but I changed my grey Fitbit bracelet for my gold one before I left the house so it matched my other jewelry. I had been experimenting with different accessories. Incidentally, this is the same black dress I featured with Converse and the orange wedge sandals in yesterday’s post.

Merona T-Shirt Shift Dress ($19!!) // Sam Edelman Reid Platform Wedges // bucket bag sold out // LOFT Marbleized Tasseled Stone Pendant Necklace // assorted beaded bangles c/o Alex and Ani

And this is what I wore to church last weekend.

I wore this one day last week running errands with the kids.

Splendid Gauze Crinkle Tie Front Top // Joe’s Jeans Distressed Rolled Hem Jean Shorts in Petra // Marc Jacobs Natasha Crossbody in Pearl Blush (also at Amazon) // assorted beaded bangles c/o Alex and Ani (I swear, these things seem to go with everything!) // Stella & Dot Engravable Disc Necklace // Fitbit Bracelet

And this was a GNO outfit. Funny thing, I splattered a couple spots of grease on my top, but my white jeans stayed clean! Go figure, right!?

LOFT Mixed Media Top // DL1961 Florence Skinnies // Tory Burch Lexington Wedges // Stella & Dot Havana Chandeliers and Quill Layering Necklace // similar leopard clutch (mine is a knockoff that is no longer available) // assorted Alex and Ani bangles

This is the day we went to the Farmer’s Market. Get all the outfit details in this post: Casual Farmer’s Market Outfit.

Another casual shorts outfit, although I did try to jazz it up with a necklace. Unfortunately that necklace just sold out, so I can’t give you a link. I’m annoyed because I just bought it. Anyway, we had a few days of cooler weather, so I took the opportunity to cozy up in my favorite cardigan. (I wore this exact outfit yesterday here in Maryland. It started out raining, and it was on the chilly side most of the day so I was glad to have this lightweight cardigan.)

Splendid Waffle-Knit Thermal Hoodie // Joe’s Jeans Distressed Rolled Hem Jean Shorts in Petra // similar tank // Sam Edelman Georgette Sandals // Marc Jacobs Natasha Crossbody in Pearl Blush (also at Amazon)

All details on this outfit can be found in this post: Cold Shoulder Top Outfit.

And this picture was a teaser to this post: Casual Black Dress with Converse or Wedge Sandals.

Finally, another casual day at home outfit. I can’t even give you links to what I’m wearing here. Everything is super old. The shorts are from Banana Republic probably five years ago, the LOFT mixed media tank that I wear so often has been sold out for weeks, and my Frye T-strap embellished sandals are also over five years old.

I don’t have anything from here in Maryland. I’ve been sharing my dinner outfits on Snapchat, but there’s nothing new. I really wanted this to be a true vacation, and I’m not pressuring myself to get certain photographs or share every little thing we’re doing — although I have posted some to Snapchat and my personal Instagram when I feel like it, but that’s just for fun.

I’ve been here before so I’ve already written about it, and it’s very freeing to just enjoy being here without any responsibilities. I even deleted the Facebook app from my phone so I don’t get distracted from enjoying my family. I highly recommend it!

I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

  1. Is this the same place you went last month? Looks beautiful! When you prepare for a season, how do you decide what to buy? I know for business you buy more than most, but you always have the perfect casual, night out, church, dressy casual outfits and I have a LOT of clothes but never what I wish I had.

    1. Yes, same place. We already had these plans when the PR team invited us for the quick trip last month, so we did both. Last month was just my husband and me. This is the whole family (obviously, lol.)

Honestly, I wish I had a great answer for you about how I prepare for a season, but I fear I don’t plan very well and tend to buy things as I think I need them. I do watch the trends and put together a must-have list for the season — those are exercises for the blog, nothing I would have done before blogging, but that helps, I guess. Honestly, I buy so much, I’m bound to have something right for most occasions, haha! I try to plan ahead, if I have a conference or something that requires something different, but my day-to-day life is pretty boring. We go to a casual church, and I could really wear most of my stay at home mom clothes to church if I needed to. I like to have a few things that are fun for dressing up and going out to dinner and things. But I don’t need a ton.

I wish I felt like I was more helpful, lol!!! I do tend to buy outfits, not pieces — or at least, I used to, when I had fewer things in my closet and wasn’t shopping as regularly. When I buy a piece, I know what I want to wear it with, or what I need to buy to have something to wear it with. Maybe that is something not everyone does??? I don’t know… is any of this helpful?

I’d love to figure this out so I can be a better resource to you all going into each season. 🙂

      1. Yes, very helpful! My lifestyle is pretty similar except church a little dressier(nice top and dress pants). The outfit concept is a better idea for me, will keep that in mind. You are such a blessing!

  2. It’s nice to detach from social media sometimes. You deserve a break!
Hope you all have a fun, relaxing family weekend!

  3. Good for you for unwinding and unplugging (at least the “work” part).
I think that sometimes since our “work” is from home and accessible, we do it too much and don’t take enough time off! Convenient,, but not always good for our mental being!!
    Enjoy and happy weekend !

    1. Absolutely!!! Usually it doesn’t get to me too much, but it feels like lately Facebook is becoming more and more the place people go to get on their moral high horse and start picking apart every news story that comes down the pike, whether they know the situation or not. And then you have the other team who is bashing the people who are bashing the people in the news, lol. I don’t know which is worse, the nice police or the outspoken critics – they are all trying to be morally superior, and I’m over it. I’m going to stick to Instagram and Snapchat for a while. 🙂
