Instagram Roundup

Well, you guys. It’s time for another Instagram Roundup!

Before we go any further, I posted a blog survey yesterday, and I’m giving away a $50 gift card to LOFT to one random participant. You can read more about it HERE. It should only take 5-10 minutes. All questions are optional and completely anonymous, and I appreciate your time so very much.

So this week’s outfits are feeling a little meh. I’ve been wearing variations on the same theme pretty much every day so it doesn’t make for a very interesting post. Summer is like that. I mean, how interesting can shorts and a t-shirt be? I don’t usually go anywhere that requires anything dressier than that. I guess it’s time to make some dinner dates and get out of the neighborhood for a bit!

It doesn’t help that this week has been super hot and humid. I haven’t even been running, that is how nasty it’s been outside. And I guess everything going on in the world has dampened my enthusiasm for fashion somewhat. I feel silly prattling on about fashion when so many people are upset and hurting right now, but that is what I do here, so . . .

Here’s a roundup of my Instagram posts from the week so you can catch up on anything you might have missed.

I wore this first outfit for my birthday dinner last Saturday night. My husband took us to Wyebrook Farm, where they have outdoor seating and raise/grow most of the food they serve while you overlook their property. It is the most amazing view. I was afraid I’d be chilly as it got later so I threw my denim jacket on, but as it turned out, I didn’t need it. It still adds a nice element to the outfit, though!

birthday outfit

white jean jacket (I love this jacket, super light weight, and very flattering to the figure) // printed drape neck shell (LOVE! picked it up at WHBM last weekend; wearing medium) // ankle-length jeans via Stitch Fix // tassel hobo (I also like this one and this one for more budget-friendly options) // platform sandals (affordable and OH SO CUTE! they run a bit large.)

This is the outfit I wore to church last Sunday. I couldn’t resist a little red, white, and blue action! I’m wearing a medium in this top.

red white and blue outfit

blue embroidered tank (on sale!) // go-to white skinny jeans (on sale for $99; or check out the less expensive options at WHBM and LOFT) // espadrille wedges (I have Dove Nappa; or check out these impressive dupes!) // the red bag is actually for sale at @shopjolynnescloset

Continuing the red, white, and blue theme, this is what I wore on the 4th of July to our friends’ house for a cookout.

4th of july outfit

linen shirttail tee (mine is the Rich Ruby) // similar white shorts $29 // platform wedges (super lightweight and easy to walk in) // earrings from Fair Trade Friday (LOVE!)

Details on this outfit can be found in this post.

And this is what I wore on Tuesday. I think I took the girls to Kohl’s that day or something. I can’t remember. This week is a bit of a blur. Oh, who am I kidding? Every week is a blur anymore! LOL!

white Jetsetter tee (verrrry thin; needs a cami; I’m wearing a small) // rolled hem jean shorts (or check out these) // Endorphin Warrior Bracelet // link ring // favorite sunnies // platform sandals (similar and here) // 3-disc necklace

This Ladder Tee is only $15!!! It’s super cute on and comes in several great colors. It must be laid flat to dry. Don’t put it in the dryer… just sayin’. I’m wearing a medium, by the way.

I wore this on Thursday around the house and to go to Kohl’s. This is yet another linen top from LOFT. I think I might have a problem… ha! This has the prettiest sheen to it. I snapped it up on their 4th of July sale, and it’s still on sale for $23.

coral and denim

lacy linen shirttail tee (I’m wearing medium) // emma skinnies // studded gladiator sandals (sooo comfy and cute!) // other saddlebag options here, here and here

These outfit details are in this post.

And finally, this is what I wore yesterday. I never thought to put navy and lilac together before, but I saw these two pieces hanging together in my closet and got inspired.

sleeveless linen v-neck (on sale for $17!) // Old Navy Pixie Shorts (only $12.50!!!) // Converse shoreline // Elisa pendant

  1. Hi Jo-Lynne, I was introduced to your blog through Grace and Beauty. I love your simple style and Christian values. I answered on your survey that I thought the prices where usually too high, but I am writing to change my opinion. I noticed everything in this post is very much in my price range. I love that you always give less expensive options. I finally did break down and buy a more expensive pair of jeans that were on sale (and they were worth every penny). Keep up what you are doing! Look forward to reading your blog each day!

    1. LOL, thanks, Kay! They do range quite a bit, but I do my best to find other options when I can. Sometimes I get lazy, tho. 🙂 And the $$$ jeans are soooo worth it, especially when you can grab a pair on sale! I buy all of mine on sale, and I try to let y’all know when I see good sales on them. Have a great weekend!!!

  2. Great mix of outfits! Getting ready to pack for road trip-gonna take my white pants & dress. It’s summer, already. Hope I don’t regret it? What’s your advice?? Have a blessed weekend!!!

  3. Hi Jo-Lynn … The Loft giveaway is a real treat, I have my fingers crossed. I always wanted to go to Wyebrook Farm after seeing it in Martha Stewart Living a couple years ago. Looks beautiful, how was the food?? We may take a ride next week. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  4. Luv your style, it is very much what I wear most days.
I do not have access to all the stores you do as I do not live in US (Nieman Marcus I wish)!
My go to is white jeans and anything, and in winter blue jeans and anything .
Keep on with great styles. ????

  5. I love navy with lilac! Regarding your survey, I am 63. I know I can’t wear exactly what you wear. So my shorts are longer, I wear Capri leggings under the shorter dresses & I can’t wear heels but I am inspired to at least try new color combinations, buy some trendy jewelry & combine colors in different ways. I’m still afraid of pattern matching but if you show me the right way to do it I will. I have RA, as I’ve mentioned before, but I’m not dead yet. Reading your daily posts encourage me to get up, get dressed & smile. Hugs.
