Instagram Roundup // What I Wore This Week 08.20.16

Well, friends, it’s Saturday again, and that means it’s time for another Instagram Roundup!

instagram roundup 2

I had fun this week playing dress-up with some of my #NSale purchases, so I posted a little more often than normal. On the other hand, my daily outfits aren’t very Instagram-worthy so there aren’t many summer looks to share. I feel like I’ve already shared it all, and most of what I’m wearing is no longer available anyway. I know we’re all in the same boat, so I threw a few “bonus looks” in here — shots I took and never put on Instagram for the above reasons.

So let’s get started! In no particular order . . . this is one of the outfits I was trying out for the fun of it. I’m not sure I would get up the guts to wear this in public — at least not with the booties. Maybe with my Miller sandals. But I think it is so cute. I’m just not sure I’m quite hip enough to pull it off.

The cardigan is a great price at $48. It is from the junior’s department, but it fits perfectly in my regular size medium, and it’s a nice quality for the price point. I bought the olive and the burgundy because the price was so good, and I love a cozy cardigan in the fall and winter. And these shorts have been in the back of my closet all summer because I couldn’t fit into them, but after a week on Whole 30, they fit again. Yippeee!!! Okay, they BARELY fit, but I’m hoping they’ll actually be comfortable in another week. Ha! (Pay no never mind to the shoes on my bedside table. I’m a slob.)

You saw this outfit on Tuesday when I shared packing tips and my perfect travel outfit, but words don’t adequately express the love I have for this Splendid draped cardigan so I had to share it on Instagram too.

I have it in black and swan, and I am always throwing it on over my summer outfits when it is at all chilly. I wore it every morning and evening in Maine, and it’s great to bring along for air conditioned venues as well. I keep expecting to find that it’s gone on sale, but so far it is still full price. I know a lot of you have been watching it too. I’ll keep an eye on it and alert you if I see it on sale!

I picked up this graphic tee at the mall last week. I couldn’t resist.

weekend I love you

You probably saw this outfit in yesterday’s post. I was joking that I need somewhere to wear it, but I just made plans to go to New York Fashion Week so maybe there will be an opportunity to wear it there!

I wore this to church on Sunday. The bag is sold out in the blue, but it is still available in white and black. The tank is completely gone, and the shoes are only available in the Adobe color. Alas, the end of summer is here!

My walk the dog outfit from Monday’s post.

One of my typical daily outfits.

LOFT Lacy Linen Tee // similar cuffed denim shorts (mine are AG) // Miller Flip Flops // Louise et Cie Jael Shoulder Bag // Stella & Dot Hammered Wire Hoops

And another. This is my favorite of all the LOFT linen tees I got this summer. I love the relaxed fit without being too voluminous. I don’t have to mess with the half tuck, it is the perfect length for letting it hang out. I’ve worn it 2x this week! You can see more of it here. It is on sale for $12.50!!!

If you missed Wednesday’s post, I shared two ways to wear this Pleione High/Low V-Neck Mixed Media Top. It’s $48 and comes in 14 colors and patterns. This is a work wear essential.

This popular off-the-shoulder top that I wore last spring went 50% off at Bloomingdales! It was pretty spendy so I was thrilled to see it go on sale.

This is my favorite cardigan from the #NSale. For a while, it was back in stock in all colors. Size down. I’m wearing a small.

Shawl Collar Cocoon Cardigan // AG Ankle Leggings // Katleen Peep Toe Bootie (I also love these) // U-Neck Tee in Beige Rainy Day (size down; LOVE this tee) // Kendra Scott Rae Pendant in Brown Mother of Pearl

Finally, I wore this last night to my son’s band preview performance at the high school. We were outside on the bleachers, and it was warm but not hot, so I wore my DL1961 Emma skinnies and cuffed them. This top is one I picked up in Maine at an outdoorsy store. I love the fit and the color. I wear it a lot with shorts around the house but I thought it was cute last night with the cuffed skinnies and sandals.

I’ve been wearing this Stella & Dot Eternity Necklace almost daily. It seems to go with everything, and it has both silver and gold so it doesn’t matter what color hardware is on my purse or shoes. (If you’re not aware, I am a Stella & Dot Independent Stylist and all links to S&D are to my online boutique. If you ever want to place an order or host a virtual trunk show to earn free product, let me know!)

I’m in a rush to get this post up so we can shoot a few outfits this morning before the sun is too high so forgive any typos! Hope y’all are having a fabulous weekend!

  1. That BP cardigan looks soooo much cuter on you than it does on the model! I would never have picked it just seeing the picture online. They need to do a better job with their modeling photos sometimes. 🙂

I got the rust shawl collar cardigan after you posted it a while back. It came early this week and wow! Love! It is so soft and something about the curve of the hemline is just so flattering. I put it on and looked in the mirror and was like, “KEEP!” with no second thoughts at all. Thanks for pointing it out to us.

  2. Really like that Splendid cardigan and the pretty dress, especially! And you are certainly bringing back memories for me this week with the shoe post with your daughter and writing about the marching band show! My older daughter was in marching band and was field commander her senior year. It is amazing to watch the performances, isn’t it?! Have a good weekend!

  3. I LOVE the grid print dress and block heels! That is a knock out outfit! Also love the cocoon cardi…may have to order that. My two kids both did marching band in high school and my daughter continued in college. She is now an assistant band director (first year!). Those kids in band and their directors work so hard and put in lots of time! I hope your son is having the same experience mine did…lessons in commitment, team work, and wonderful friendships! The gift of music is a lifetime experience! Happy weekend!

  4. I think you know how much I also love that splendid waffle cardi too. I’m wearing it a fair bit over here in the UK.

I adore that coccoon cardi and the green one you’re wearing. They are both looking fab.

  5. What lip color are you wearing? I think you have the same color on in most pix, but I noticed it in the “Weekend” shirt close up. It looks like a great neutral….not too shimmery….not too matte. Thanks!

    1. Awww, thanks, Susanne! I tried it on this morning for a photo shoot, and my husband was not a fan. LOL!! I think it’s a pretty young look, or one for someone more hip than I. But I may play around with it and try to figure out some version of it that I’m comfortable with.

    2. I agree, i think it looks great! I wouldnt change a thing. WEAR IT, you’ll look great, and i bet you’ll even get compliments from your friends about how cute and stylish you are!
