Instagram Roundup // What I Wore This Week 10.15.16

Good Saturday morning! Does anyone have some festive fall plans for today? I think we’re finally going to get to the pumpkin patch.

Late yesterday I posted about the Kate Spade Sale, so be sure to check it out! SO many cute things, and a great discount. I’m already thinking ahead to holiday shopping. Today I wanted to do an Instagram Roundup. Let’s dive right in!

This ivory sleeveless cowl sweater was one of my favorite #NSale purchases, and I’m finally getting a chance to wear it! This one is similar, and Classiques Entier has one too. It is $$$ but this brand is worth it if it’s in your budget and you think you’d get enough wear out of it. For a less expensive version, this ivory BP. Slub Cowl Neck Sweater is cute, but it does have sleeves (which, considering how fast it got cold here, might be a better bet anyway.)

This Free People Beach Cocoon Cowl Neck Pullover is by far the most popular item I’ve featured this month and probably all fall. I can’t see who makes purchases from links on my blog or even exactly what is purchased, but I can see how many sales are made through each link, and this top went gangbusters. It’s no wonder. It’s super cute and comfortable AND it’s on sale for $47!!! I’ve already worn it a few times. For size reference, I’m wearing the XS/S and it fits perfectly. (I’m usually a 6 or 8 in tops.) More details in THIS POST.

We snapped this picture on my iPhone as we were headed out to a high school football game. The photo quality is lacking, but I absolutely LOVE this Nike hoodie. The red has sold out, but they restocked in a bunch of really pretty colors. It is lightweight and super soft inside and just so comfy to pull on — perfect over a t-shirt and jeans with sneakers for your ball games and other outdoor fall activities.

I love this outfit. I really wish the scarf and bracelets were still available. I returned the handbag, but it is absolutely gorgeous. If you’re in the market to invest in a nice mid-size shoulder bag, I highly recommend taking a look at this one. More details in THIS POST.

I absolutely adore this bow neck shell. I wear it every chance I get. It pairs well with grey, denim, black, khaki, and just about any other neutral you can come up with! It is currently marked down to $39 plus 40% off (no code needed) which brings it down to $23.99. This is also cute layered under a blazer, denim jacket, leather jacket, or cardigan.

I styled this striped poncho with aubergine skinnies and grey booties and wore it to a ladies’ Bible Study last weekend. More details in THIS POST.

I wore this to church one a rainy Sunday, and that was the day that I realized most of my fall shoes are suede!!! Where we live, that isn’t very practical, so I’m going to have to find some other options. These pointy toe ballet flats were an #NSale purchase, but they’re still available. They run TTS, they come in a gazillion colors, and they’re very comfortable.

This geo print shift dress is a great closet staple to have at the ready. It works for work, lunch appointments, biz meetings, church, dinner out, and so much more! More details in THIS POST.

I wore this on a casual day of running errands and working from home. You will definitely want to size down in this cozy V-neck sweater at Gap. I have the small, and it’s still huge. I love it though, very cozy and soft. I’ve worn it twice already. AND it’s 40% off!

The booties were gifted from Marmi Shoes. They specialize in luxury brands that offer comfort and style. These booties come in medium, narrow, and wide widths, and they are leather-lined. Pure luxury!

I wore this cowl neck pullover this time with sneakers for a more casual look, and I added big silver earrings to draw the eye up to my face. My Emma legging jeans are on sale at Nordstrom in several of the washes. Just watch the difference in inseam and leg opening. Mine are 29″ inseam and 10″ leg opening. For some reason, some are 28 and 11, I have no idea why.

I wore this woven halter for a date night with my husband. More details in THIS POST.

I’ve been wearing this pink sweater at least once a week since I got it. It pairs so nicely with blue jeans, grey jeans, black, or even white. I keep meaning to wear it with white jeans and grey booties. It’s also 40% off right now.

I finally got a chance to wear this dress from the #NSale to an event last week. Unfortunately it is sold out, but I am styling several new dresses by this designer in the next few weeks, so stay tuned!!!

I featured this outfit yesterday. This jacket was part of the #NSale and I never got it, even though I wanted it. Then I saw a few other ladies style it, and it was so flattering, that I went ahead and ordered it at full price. I’m glad I did. It’s a great layering piece for those of us who prefer a more casual look but want something a little more tailored than a cardigan sometimes. It runs big, so I recommend sizing down. I’m wearing the Small. More details in THIS POST.

Finally, I posted this shot of my Moto Hobo handbag because it was part of the Shopbop sale. Unfortunately that sale has ended, but this bag is available at Nordstrom and Bloomies, and it also comes in 3 other gorgeous colors — Almond, Putty, and Port.

  1. Thanks for the roundup Jo-Lynne! Our fall activities consists of Larry out black powder hunting and me having to wear an orange vest on my walks. I’m seriously considering the sleeveless top from Loft. The price & care instructions is right, and I have a swing sweater I think it’ll go with perfectly.

    Have a blessed weekend!

  2. I bought the Gap sweater in petite and love it…with the great price I ordered two more! Also love the shift dresses. ????????????????

  3. Hi Jo Lynne,
Love all your transitional outfits! Thanks for including a casual one, love the Nike sweatshirt. Just for reference, what size is the Nike hoodie?
Thanks again for all the fun inspiration!

    1. It’s the medium. It’s a nice, relaxed fit. The small might fit, but it would definitely be more form fitting and I wanted extra room plus to allow for shrinkage. Hope that helps!

  4. I’ m confused……if you wear xs/s and are 5″6′ and weigh 140, what size should someone purchase who is 5″1′ and weighs 120? I usually shop at Belk, Penney, Dress Barn type stores which are not really high end stores but are not cheap either. I wear a size 8 or 10 in dresses and a M or L top at those stores. Is it because clothes at higher priced stores are sized differently?

    1. I typically wear a medium. I assume you’re talking about the Free People top? This top only comes in 2 sizes – so it is XS/S or M/L and according to the website, XS/S=4-8 and M/L=10-14. It is very unusual for me to wear an XS/S. 🙂 I hope that helps.

  5. I hope you have fun at the pumpkin patch. We went to one this morning with our little one (he Loved the corn pit). We also scored a good deal on a swing set at a yard sale on the way. Lol

And let me be the 3rd or 4th person to say that I am going to check out that Nike pullover. 😉

  6. I was one of those who bought the Free People cocoon top. I got it in the rust color. Love it! It’s so cozy and different than other tops in my closet. I can’t wear anything with a high neck; I feel like I can’t breathe. But the cowl collar is nice and loose. I wear a 12 top and the m/l was plenty big enough. I can’t wait to wear it. Good point about the suede shoes, Jo-Lynne! I love suede shoes and rarely buy them because it rains so much in Delaware.

I hope everyone has a lovely Sunday!
