Instagram Roundup + Coffee Talk

Good morning, friends! I’ve been meaning to do an Instagram Roundup for a couple of weeks, and I never seem to finish it in time so I’m determined to get this up this morning. It’s long so most of my descriptions will be brief, but hopefully this gives you some real life outfit inspiration during this crazy in-between season.

This was a rainy day and I had some errands to run. I ended up putting a black cardigan on top because I was so chilly. This black tee seems to be sold out at the moment, but it’s available in grey and white, and you can use code Jolynne10 for 10% off your order from ThirtySomethingTees. This is my friend Carly’s company. She designed these, and they’re really nice quality and made right here in Pennsylvania.

I wore this simple outfit to breakfast with some of my mom friends after we put our kids on the bus for the first day of school. I’m not sure why I look so awkward, lol, but it’s the best front-on shot I have of this outfit. You can see more of it in THIS POST.

Yes, I have a thing for v-neck t-shirts. This grey tee is super old, but I love the drape. I also love the simplicity of this outfit, yet whenever I throw it on, I feel quite chic. I think it’s the combination of ankle boots and short sleeves.

This was the outfit that kicked off 26 Days of Fall Fashion 2017! If you missed it, you can see more of this look in THIS POST.

poncho // jeans (option) // booties // bag // sunnies c/o // necklace // earrings // bracelets

I wear this tie front sweatshirt quite a bit. It’s heavier than most of my short sleeve tops so it’s nice for this in-between weather, the tie front is a fun touch, and the wide neckline is flattering.

I love this tie sleeve top and I can’t wait for the weather to cool off again so I can wear it. You can see more of this look in THIS POST.

blouse // jeans (option) // earrings // necklace // sunnies c/o

I wore this outfit to church one Sunday.

cowl sweater from Loft Outlet // jeans (option) // shoes // bag // earrings

I think this was Labor Day. It had been chilly for a couple of weeks and suddenly summer returned with a vengeance. I like how the rust top and brown embellished sandals give a nod to fall while still being cool enough to wear in warm weather.

Here’s another look at the tie front top outfit.

blouse // jeans (option) // booties // bag // earrings // necklace // sunnies c/o

This bell sleeve sweater is super soft and comes in several pretty colors. I really like the quality for the price. More of this look in THIS POST.

I forget where I wore this, but I love the black cowl neck top and burgundy jeans together, and I think I like this outfit better with these black ballet flats than with the black ankle boots as shown below.

Here’s that same sleeveless cowl from the Loft Outlet styled with bootcut jeans. More of this look in THIS POST.

I wore this out to a casual dinner with the family one warm Friday night. Black and denim with cognac and leopard is always a fail-proof combination.

I wore this outfit to run errands and do a service project at church a couple Saturdays back. The long sweater is sold out but Nordstrom just brought in a new one that’s similar. I linked it below.

This cashmere poncho is soooo super soft. It’s a little spendy, but Lucky Brand has BOGO 70% off all apparel right now so that helps. More of this outfit in THIS POST.

I styled this flattering ruched tank dress for spring with a linen cardigan and sandals, but it’s still in stock and you can totally wear it with a heavier cardigan and ankle boots for fall.

I tried styling boyfriend jeans again and this was the result. I like this slimmer style, but I still like my skinnies best. More of this look in THIS POST.

Perfect White Tee (10% off with code Jolynne10) // jeans (option) // similar cardigan // slides (option) // tote (option) // necklace // earrings // sunnies c/o

Here’s that same black sleeveless cowl and  burgundy jeans but with black ankle boots for a dressier look. More in THIS POST.

Like I said, I wear this top a lot.

top // jeans (option) // booties // earrings // watch (50% off!)

I love the combo of this floral top with the grey jeans. I wore this to meet with my accountant earlier this week, and I kept it on all day because it’s that comfortable. For a dressier look, I styled this same top with white jeans in THIS POST.

This date night look was on the blog earlier this week. More in THIS POST.

blouse // jeans (option) // similar shoes // clutch c/o (option) // necklace // earrings // sunnies c/o

I wore this easy look a few days ago for errands and such. This striped top is really cute on and only $24.

top // jeans (option) // booties // bag // bracelets // nail polish

And finally, I shared this last night. It’s a sneak peek of an outfit to come to the blog later this week. I’ve styled this floral cami before, but I’ve been wanting to wear it with this blush cardigan and blue jeans. This time I lowered the straps a bit and wore a strapless bra so I can take off the sweater if I want. Both the sweater and jeans are pretty pricey, but I got them at 40% off at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They may go on sale again eventually. I’ll keep an eye on them. I loooove this sweater. So so so soft.

And that’s a wrap! We’ve had a fun weekend. High school football game on Friday night, lazy Saturday at home, dinner at a Korean restaurant with friends last night, and today we have church and I hope to catch up with some friends this afternoon.

Yesterday I started reading Liane Moriarty’s book, The Last Anniversary, and I like it so far. I always have a hard time getting into her books at first because she tends to skip around and tell her stories from several points of view, and I have to get into each separate storyline, but once I do, I love them. I also want to read my friend Marybeth Whalen’s new book, When We Were Worthy. It sounds like a bit of a tear jerker, but I enjoy her writing and I haven’t read one of hers in a while.

Okay, well that’s about it for me. I need to get out the door to church soon. Hope you have a relaxing and blessed Sunday!

  1. My hubby and I are going on vacation this next week. All the outfits I bought for the trip will probably be a tad too warm for this hot weather we are heading into. That’s what makes your post especially inspiring for me as I will have to rework some outfits. As always, your styles are relaxed and chic and real. So what I aspire to. Thanks so much!!!!

    1. Thank you, I hope it’s helpful. It’s not unusual for us to have a warm spell this time of year, but I think it feels even hotter than it is since it got so cool at the end of August. Where are you headed? Hopefully somewhere fun!

  2. What size are you wearing in the front-tie sweatshirt? I’ve never ordered from Gap, and I base a lot of what size I order on what you’re wearing. Love so much of what you wear!

    Thanks!

  3. I love your blog! It helps guide me to look chic but, at the same time, not try to hang on to years past. 🙂 I was just sharing your site with a few of my 40ish friends from church today. Happy Sunday!

  4. Is the black jet setter dolman sleeve top from WHBM fitted? It looks so good on you and the picture looks like it has a relaxed fit but comes in on the sides to give waist definition. Hope it comes back in stock.!

  5. Lots of easy outfits to put together. Really liked the stripe sweater. Would be easy to throw on. Also like the camisole but can’t wear it if you are working. A little too bare if you take your cardi off.

  6. It has been raining quite a bit today for the first time on the Oregon Coast.  I like the Hunters I purchased a couple of years ago, and I am just curious about other brands, as well.  What are other favorites?

  7. Cute outfits, Jolynne!  Thank you for your hard work and time putting it all together for us. Can you tell me if the navy/red stripe tee runs tts?  What size is yours?  I just love stripes, too.  What about the tees that your friend makes…are they tts?  I’d love to find a cute grey t-shirt, preferably short sleeve and I like the one you’re wearing.

    1. I have the small and I like the fit. I’d say it’s TTS for Old Navy. I usually wear a small there.

Carly’s tees run small, and I have a medium in those. I would not go any smaller so definitely size up if you’re at all in between sizes.

  8. You are awesome! I love your style It is great to have such a good example of class, modesty and being in style. Thanks also for linking us often to the perfect tee site. They do always look good and I am happy they are made in the USA. Next time I need a tee, I will be buying there.
