July Favorites

You guys, July is halfway over. HOW can that be possible??? I know I sort of wished it away, I was so excited to get into my new house, but now that I’m here, I really want time to slow it down already.

I’m taking a break from sale coverage today to share my July Favorites. That said, all but one item in this list IS on sale. You are welcome! This is basically a roundup of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now.

My July 2018 Favorites

one // This is the one item not on sale, but it’s an excellent price for a quality dress. I wore this to a funeral last weekend with black pumps and my new Brahmin bag (see #6!) The fit on this dress is amazing — if you like a sheath, this one is such a great classic. I’ve had it for a few years now, but it seems to stay in stock — probably because it is so good.

I was so glad to have this ready to go when I needed to attend a funeral the day after my move. It was a terribly sad day, and it was hard to switch gears from moving and unpacking to dressing up for the memorial service, but at least I didn’t have to stress about what to wear.

also wearing: Sam Edelman Hazel pumps // Brahmin satchel (Sale: $230.90; Price After Sale: $345)

two // My hair dryer is a favorite every month, so much so that I included it in my post of holy grail beauty products. Right now it’s part of the #NSale, so I figured this was a good time to feature it! I’m such a huge fan of T3 products. I also have their curling wand and flat iron. The hair dryer retails for $200, but it’s on sale for $134.

three // These are my newest favorite sandals, and they’re also part of the #NSale. They retail for $228, but they’re on sale for $149. I have the black, but they also come in tan, which is a great neutral. These are better for those with a higher arch or wider feet. They are a little big on me, but I still enjoy wearing them. The sole is really soft and flexible, and I like the matte gold buckle. (It’s not adjustable, tho.)

four // This tee is so cute and easy to throw on with white shorts or jeans. I really like the material — a luxe pima cotton and modal blend, and the loop trim on the sleeves elevates it from a basic tee. It runs true to size; I’m wearing the small.

I know it looks like it’s pulling across the chest, but it’s a combination of the bra I was wearing (I have learned that I hate the way this bra looks in photos 🙈) and the necklace laying over the front. At any rate, I love this tee and wear it a lot, and it’s currently marked down PLUS an extra 50% off!

also wearing: white denim shorts // pink thong sandals // striped straw tote // bracelets

five // Three of my July favorites are represented in this photo! These jeans are one of the best deals in the #NSale, in my opinion. They are 50% off!!! They are lightweight, stretchy, and comfortable, but they do not bag out with wear. I wore them most of Monday, and they held up great.

If you tend to be in between sizes, you can wear your smaller size with these. I tried both the 29 and the 28, and after about 15 minutes in the dressing room, the 29 was sliding down, so I bought the 28, and I’m glad I did. That said, they area very snug, so if you prefer a looser fit, go with your larger size; just be prepared to be yanking them up throughout the day.

also wearing: UGG mocs (Sale: $64.90; Price After Sale: $99.95) // Kendra Scott earrings (Sale: $45.90; Price After Sale: $70) // Paige striped tee (old) // Brahmin satchel (Sale: $230.90; Price After Sale: $345)

six // This bag. Oh, this bag! I am officially declaring this bag my FAVORITE of all my#NSale purchases. If I could only buy one thing, it would have been this bag. I’ve been carrying it with everything, and I love how it goes with everything from a LBD to a tee and jeans and everything in between. Also see #1 and #4. The glazed, croc-embossed leather adds a touch of sophistication to any outfit, and I love that it’s different from any other bag I own.

After the sale, it will be $345, but right now it’s marked down to $230, so if you’ve had your eye on it, I recommend grabbing it while you can. Also take a look at the black one. I didn’t see it in-store, but if I had, I would have had a hard decision to make.

also wearing: Frame slender straight jeans (Sale: $173.90; Price After Sale: $260) // BP. mock neck color block sweater (Sale: $31.90; Price After Sale: $49) // Brahmin satchel (Sale: $230.90; Price After Sale: $345)

seven // I’ve been wearing this cute tee a couple times a week  — it pretty much sums up how I’ve been feeling lately with the move and the Nordstrom sale happening all at once. I love my Converse Shoreline sneakers, and there is a pair that’s a part of the #NSale for $42 (after sale, they will be $65.) They come in a taupe that reads more of a rose gold as well as a really pretty “light twine” that are a nice alternative to the white.

also wearing: white denim shorts // Converse Shoreline

eight // I love COOLA sun care products, so I was super excited to see this set in the #NSale. I need to order some before it sells out! The travel size is nice to carry in your purse, in case you’re out and about and realize you need some sun protection.

nine // These UGG flats caught my eye the instant I saw them in the shoe department at Nordstrom, and when I put them on, I was in love. They are so so so comfortable. They are NOT shearling lined like most UGGs, so you can wear them year-round, and they actually have arch support. They are so soft and flexible and comfortable.

They do run a little small; you may want to try a half size up. They’re selling out fast, so grab them while you can. I actually got them in red and chestnut. I rarely by duplicates, but sometimes I make an exception for basic t-shirts and shoes. I know I’ll get a lot of wear out of these. They’re cute with shorts, jeans, pants, and even skirts.

also wearing: Frame slender straight jeans (Sale: $173.90; Price After Sale: $260) // Halogen cashmere bell sleeve sweater (Sale: $118.90; Price After Sale: $179)

ten // Last year I splurged on this watch during the #NSale, and I’ve enjoyed it so much this year, so I was super excited when they brought it back! I love the two-tone metal because it goes with everything, and it’s chunky enough to make a statement but not so large that it overwhelms my small wrists.

eleven // This skirt was a last minute find when I was shopping the #NSale last week, and I’m so glad I did that last walk-through. It’s a nice piece to start wearing now, but it will carry you well into fall. It’s TTS (true to size) and I’m wearing the 6. I’ve got more of a fall look with this skirt coming on Friday, so stay tuned for that!

also wearing: v-neck tee // cocoon cardigan (Sale: $45.90; Price After Sale: $69) // thong sandals (Sale: $149.90; Price After Sale: $228) // ksny crossbody (Sale: $165.90; Price After Sale: $248)

  1. Which to choose??  I didn’t want to splurge on that handbag but boy … resisting is getting harder every time I see it.

Question:   I’ve tried to find a post where you talk about your rose insulated wine tumblers but I guess I’m using all the wrong keywords.  Can you give the link again?  Please?

  2. GM! Glad you are getting settled in your new home. Must be exciting to start the decorating process now. I ordered that black coffee tshirt and thank you for helping find the link on Instagram. I was also hoping to see some items from the Amazon Prime sale but maybe I missed that? We use our prime acct a lot but I normally don’t order Fashion items so I’ll have to start poking around a bit more and see what kind of deals they have?

  3. Hi JoLynne—do you find the Brahmin handbag heavy?  I’ve looked at their bags through the years and they seem to be heavier than others.  Just wondering if it would be uncomfortable after a while.
Also, did you take your normal size in the dress?  The website states it runs big but other reviews were having a problem with it being tight around the hips and large on the top.

  4. Behind you in some of the pictures, I see sunlight coming in and it looks like there’s a railing and maybe a walkway.  Just curious about what we’re actually seeing.
I really enjoying wearing my ON coffee tee, as well.  Even here in Cashiers, I’ve had numerous positive comments about it.  And I’m actually wearing it again today since we will be walking around looking in some of the shops.  There are several ‘finds’ I would like, but I promised Larry that I was not ordering more clothes.  July is flying by!  Enjoy your day!

    1. Glad you’re enjoying the tee! What you see behind me is the landing at the top of the stairs. It turns and there are another couple of steps and the master is right there.

  5. Jo-Lynne, I still want to buy the coffee tee but trying to figure out the size to order.  I hate to have to order 2 sizes but probably have too.  What size did you order?  I am a XS and S in all shirts.  I’m 5’3″ like 125-128lbs.

  6. Fun post!  I got the Nordstrom Visa on Monday & shopped a lot of your recommendations.  It’s hard to think Christmas, but I’m trying to do that too.  I think that coffee tee will be cute for my daughters!  Thanks for the help   : )

  7. I just got my black Rag and Bone jeans today.  I love them from the front and side but the back 😳.  The pockets seem so far apart.  What did you decide?  I don’t like any of my black jeans.  Everything else is perfect but that.

    1. Interesting! So in the Rag & Bone blue jeans, I felt the same way. But the black ones are so dark, I didn’t think it looked bad. Now I want to go check my rear view again!!!

The best black jeans for my rear view, hands down, is my AG legging ankle jeans. But I really like how these have the raw hem.

  8. I love my T3 dryer! I saw that bag in the store and looked at it. My mom is a huge fan of Brahmin bags. I like it, but I was afraid once I “loaded” it up, it would be so heavy. That’s the hard thing with leather bags.

  9. Lots of great products here!

I got the half size up in the loafers today and love them! A perfect fit now. I wish they had the grey still in my size.

  10. Jo-Lynne, Do you feel the UGG flats run wide at all? I have a wide foot and am wondering if they will work for me. The red ones are so cute! Thanks!

  11. You had me at the Brahmin bag!!!!! I recognized it immediately as a Brahmin from the photograph. Must have…
