Last Minute Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is this weekend, and if you’re anything like me, it may have crept up on you! If you’re still looking for the perfect thing, I’ve gathered a list of some last minute Mother’s Day gift ideas for you. Or if you’re a mom, you can always “accidentally” forward this post to your hubby. Haha!

At any rate, I hope it’s helpful!

summer bathrobe // I think a bathrobe is always a great gift for a woman. (I gave my mom a pajamas and bathrobe set for her birthday this year.) This everyday robe is made from a lovely soft, drapey jersey material. The website indicates that it runs small, so you’ll want to size up. I may need to treat myself to this one. It’s a great price, and it’s getting too warm for the cozy UGG bathrobe I’ve been wearing all winter. If you think she’d prefer a longer style, this one by Natori is the one I got for my mom, and it is gorgeous.

Tory Burch Parker Tote // If you want to gift her with a classic tote she will carry for years, the new Tory Burch Parker tote is gorgeous, and it’s priced extremely well for this brand. My favorite is the Cardamom/Royal Navy combo (the interior is navy). It is so classic, and it’s also remarkably similar to the popular Prada tote I’m always drooling over.

Miller Sandals // Adored by women everywhere, the iconic Tory Burch Miller sandals is a luxury gift that is also extremely practical. I seriously wear these at least 5 days a week during the warmer months, and I keep them in my closet all year round for whenever I might need a pair of sandals. I stash them in my tote when I go to get a pedicure, and I always take them with me when I travel for slipping on to go downstairs for coffee in the mornings, and of course for the pool. The patent ones are pretty much water proof. Mine are over a year old and still look like new.

silk pillowcase // This is a luxury item many women won’t buy for themselves, and it makes a great gift. I definitely have noticed a difference in my hair in the mornings since I’ve been using one. If you have Amazon Prime, there is still time to place your order and get it by Sunday. You can also have it shipped directly if you’re loved one isn’t local to you. I have this one, but you’d have to pay extra for rush shipping to get it here in time for Mother’s Day.

L’Occitane Almond Oil Shower Gel // I received a sample of this shower gel at the rewardStyle conference, and I am IN LOVE. It smells wonderful, but it’s not over-powering, and it makes your skin so soft. It would make a fabulous gift for any occasion.

Adore Your Wardrobe GC (not pictured) // For the woman who is struggling to put it all together, the gift of the Adore Your Wardrobe course would be a practical and valuable gift. The next course starts 5/24, and registration opens this Sunday, 5/14, at 6AM CST.

More Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Here are all of these ideas plus some other fun ideas at lower price points. You’d have to stop by the mall or pay extra for rush shipping to get these in time for Mother’s Day, but I figured I’d throw them out here anyway.

A few other easy ideas…. you can always buy gift cards to one of her favorite stores or restaurants and stick it in a card.

One of my go-to Mother’s Day gifts is hanging basket or potted garden with a colorful array of summer flowers. You can always pick one up at your local garden center or farmer’s market. I often do that for my mother-in-law, who is local. We usually see her on Mother’s Day weekend.

My mom is out of town, so I often order her flowers or send a spa gift card. I’m a procrastinator, so I usually wait until the last minute when it is too late to order a gift, wrap it, and mail it, so I like to do flowers or a gift certificate that I can send electronically.

While you’re celebrating the special mothers in your life, also be mindful of those who have lost a mother, and those who desperately want to be mothers but can’t for one reason or another. A thoughtful card, note, or phone call can go a long way in those situations.

What are your plans for Mother’s Day this year?

  1. Great ideas! I usually purchase gift certificates for pedicure’s for both our adult daughters; however, you’ve given me a few other ideas! Those Kendra Scott earrings are a thought as well as the S’well water bottle. In 2003, my mother passed away at age 72 after a 5 year battle with breast cancer. I have a beautiful small urn with her ashes that I keep on a shelf with a painting & a few other items of her’s from when we cleaned out her home. It certainly isn’t a shrine, but a collage of items that she loved, that ended up matching the decor of my dining room. Instead of tears, it always brings a smile, as I know she is no longer suffering! My mother-in-law passed away 4 years ago, so I have several pieces of crystal & china from her home that bring back happy memories of when we used these items for family dinners. To me, it’s all about those wonderful memories of time spent with them and how they have influenced our lives!
Have a wonderful day & praying you get over that head cold quickly.

  2. Love all your ideas!!! Hope my children
    Remember the shower gel…
    One of my favorite stores!
Excited to hear what’s next for you
    And Cyndi!
    Wondering what airline…
Will be looking for you on
    American:)

    1. Always American! 🙂 We have their CC and put all household expenses on it so when I fly, I often have the points to upgrade. No airline is perfect, but I have had pretty good experiences so far with AA.

  3. I love all of your ideas. We also need to remember the mothers who have lost a child. This can be a heartbreaking time for them.

  4. I treated myself to the Tory Butch Miller sandals and I absolutely love them. I usually schlep around in my Birkenstocks but not any more. These are wonderful!!

I love getting gift cards for mani / pedis. My kids think it’s impersonal but I love the hour or two of me time.

This year, my hubby bought me a vintage madewell leather tote and I love it’s broke in look. I love broken in leather.

    Happy Mothers Day Jolynne!!

  5. Jolynn,
I was so touched that you would say something about those who have lost a mother, or have wanted to be a mother. Thank you for that kindness.

  6. You have lots of great ideas for gifts. I have started buying photo gifts from Snapfish to have sent to my mother & mother in law for Mother’s Day. (And the same for Father’s Day for my father and father-in-law.) They are happy to have something else with the kids pictures on them, and there is such a variety of things available.

  7. Thank you for your note about being mindful of those who have lost a mother (me) or want to be mothers but can’t/having a hard time (also me). I recently miscarried my first and so I’ll be largely tuning out Mother’s Day this year. I feel like everyone gets so caught up in the swirl that they forget it’s also a very sensitive holiday. God bless!

  8. I too have recently discovered the L’Occitane Shower oil and agree it is amazing and would make a lovely gift. You add water and it turns into a luxurious body wash and I don’t even lotion when I get out of the shower. They also have a body oil in this same line that is divine!!!
