Lurkers, This Is For YOU!

I’ve lost count of the number of commenters who said on the Julian & Co. giveaway that they are longtime lurkers finally coming out of the woodwork for the first time.  See why I do these giveaways, now?  And y’all thought I was just being nice.

<insert evil cackle>

Naw, really, it means SO much to me to get those comments, and as much as I would love it if you would COMMENT MORE OFTEN, ALREADY, I totally understand the desire to lurk, and lurking is just fine if that’s how you are most comfortable.

But I want to say that I appreciate you reading, and if you DO find yourself with something to say every once in a while, please don’t hesitate to jump right in.  I don’t bite.  I promise.  Unless you are made of chocolate, and then all bets are off.

I’m also writing in to say that I will be taking a sort of blogging break.  By sort of I mean that I won’t be writing mega epistles for a while, although I know myself better than to think that I can stop posting altogether.

The main reason I need to slow down is that I am having some symptoms of carpal tunnel, and if it’s not that, then it’s some other undesirable condition that is affecting my right arm and hand.  Whatever it is, I’m hoping to get to the bottom of it today when I go see my doctor.

I know I need to rest it, and although I’m getting quite adept at operating the mouse with my left hand, even typing seems to aggravate it.  Please say a prayer that it’s nothing serious.  As you well know, my hands are my mouthpiece.

‘Nuff said.  Going to rest now.  Really.  I am.  Promise.  Slap me if you see another post from me today.

Oh yeah.  One more thing.  I know, I’m really bad at following doctor’s orders.  I have some Tips & Tricks on using eyebrow pencil over on Chic Critique today.  Why don’t you come and visit me over there.

Okay.  Over and out.

  1. I have it too in both hands…not severely yet, but you definitely have to watch it. Do your whole arms go numb at night? My Dr. game me braces that help (when I wear them!). Saying a prayer that it’s not too sever! Now go rest!

  2. I totally support you in this “break”.

Enjoy the quiet….. I will ask the Lord to minister to you in unmistakable ways and multiply your ministry/ busines with or without your hands.

  3. Oh… I will absolutely say a prayer!! That’s not fun… I hope you will still be able to blog a bit b/c I LOVE your blog so much!! Good luck a the appt. and let us know how it goes!!

  8. I have to wear a brace every now and then and it keeps the carpal tunnel away. One week with a brace and Ibuprofen paired with a good ergonomic fully-adjustable office chair was all I needed.

I hope the solution is something non-invasive and simple for you too!

  9. Just making the rounds this morning. So sorry about your hands/arms. You know I will be praying hard for you! I love to read your page and I LOVE your work! I hope it’s nothing serious and that you will be seriously taking a rest! I’ll be here!…waiting!…with bells on! 🙂

  10. Hopefully you are able to quickly resolve your possible carpal tunnel. I have had it off/on since taking violin lessons in high school! Not fun, but good you are taking care of it!

You could always learn to type with your toes, right?

  11. Okay.. guilty of lurking.. I don’t usually comment cause I dont usually have anything worth while to say. But I actually do have some advice for you.. You need to find a good wrist brace that fits well and is comfortable. I do IT work so not typing wasnt much of an option for me. But when my carpal tunnel flares up I throw on my wrist brace for a few days (even sleep with it on) and in about a week I have it back under control.

  12. coming out of lurk status to say i will be praying for you! i enjoy your site and check it almost every day! hope you are feeling better soon!

  13. It’s going around… i say that as if it’s infectious… i only say that because you’re the third person i’ve known this WEEK to have been to the dr about it… 🙁

hope it’s nothing… because we need the epistles… otherwise, we’d have to work… or do laundry… or something horrid like that…

  14. My hubby wears a wrist guard and it helps tremendously. Hope everything is okay. I’m going to miss you. You better at least post a little so I can get my daily fix.

  15. Well I am a newbie & a lurker, so I guess now is a good time to finally post & to wish you well.

  16. Occassionally, I get carpel tunnel like pain. If i really take it easy with the computer and make sure I sleep with my arm in a good position, it really helps a lot. I do hope it feels better!

  17. Well, I don’t know what I’ll do without reading your epistles every day – but I understand – rest is best! I dealt with that years ago when I was decorating cakes all day every day. The brace worked wonders! I hope yours feels better soon!
(Maybe you can hire a typist and you can dictate your posts! LOL!)

  18. Oh I am so sorry =( I had problems with my left hand and arm during my third pregnancy. I had never had this problem before, so I had no idea what was wrong. It went away after a little while, and I have no idea why it started in the first place! I will be praying for you to get better SOON as I really enjoy reading your “epistles.” LOL =)

  19. I switch from using the mouse from my left to my right whenever one wrist starts to ache. It can take some getting used to at first, obviously, but I haven’t had problems since then! (I started this back in 2000.)

I hope you can get this resolved. 🙂 Stinks to be hurting.

  20. I totally feel for you since I have carpal tunnel syndrome too and I know exactly how painful it is. Please rest it. Do what the doctor says. I’m telling you this from experience.

  21. Hope it’s nothing too bad! My dear husband started looking into voice recognition software when he was having issues with repetitive stress disorder.
