May Favorites

It’s time for my May Favorites! This is a mix of new discoveries and old tried and true products that I’m especially loving right now.

May Favorites

#1. Lucky Brand Jorey Wedge Sandals $89 // I styled these sandals in this post, and I am finding that they are very versatile. Sometimes wearing a high wedge seems like overkill for my casual life, but I get tired of wearing flats all the time. These are a nice compromise. The grommets give them a bit of an edge, but they’re still pretty classic. They are also incredibly comfortable. I have never been disappointed with a pair of Lucky Brand shoes. They’re not super pricey for the quality you’re getting, but if you keep an eye on them, I’m sure they’ll go on sale. When they do, I’ll let you know! These run TTS.

#2. Nike no show socks $14 (set of 3) // I often get asked what socks I wear in my Converse, and these are great. They stay put and keep the shoes from rubbing blisters on my feet.

#3. Caslon Linen Blend Off the Shoulder Tee $45 // If you like an off-the-shoulder top that also has the option to wear it on the shoulders, this one is perfect! I love the soft linen blend material, and it comes in 4 colors – black, coral, purple, and this grey/blue that I bought. You can see me wearing it in this Facebook post. This top runs a little big. I have the small.

#4. Converse Shoreline $49 // I’ve had these for a few years, but for some reason, I’m finding myself wearing them more than ever before. They are just so cute and casual. You have to get used to them; everyone feels like they look like boats at first, but the Shoreline style helps with that, and no one is looking down on them the way you are. I’m considering getting a pair in this denim color.

#5. LOFT Modern Frayed Skinny Crop Jeans $69 (on sale for $48!) // I picked up these jeans on the LOFT 40% off sale a few weeks back, and I’m really impressed. They fit great and look good from all angles — even that pesky rear view. They aren’t as soft straight out of the box as my favorite premium brands, but I hear they soften up some with wear, so I’m willing to give them a chance. This light wash is a huge trend right now, and I love it because of its casual vibe. These run TTS.

#6. Fitted V-Neck Tee Dress for Women $16 // I love the looks of this dress. I’ve been wanting to add some casual dresses to my wardrobe, so I just ordered this one in hopes that it will work out. I like that the v-neckline is modest, and it comes in orange, black, and a print as well as this grey that I ordered. I am envisioning it with Converse and a denim jacket. Best of all, it’s on sale for $16!

#7. Alex and Ani Living Water Charm Bangle $34 // A portion of the proceeds from the sales of this bracelet benefit Living Water International, a company helping communities acquire desperately needed clean water. I’ve been enjoying wearing this alongside my silver Arrow Wrap.

#8. White Pumps $119 // White pumps are my newest obsession. In case you missed it, yesterday I styled my white pumps 8 ways, and I also gave some shopping suggestions for white pumps at other price points.

#9. Red Carpet Convertible Strapless Bra $65// Thanks to this bra, I can now buy and wear off-the-shoulder tops! It fits great and is about as comfortable as a strapless bra gets. It runs true to size.

  1. I kinda love everything in this post! It makes me want to finally wash my Converse so I can wear them again, lol. And I agree about those socks. I’ve had them since fall and I wear them with everything from Converse to booties. They are they only ones I have tried that don’t show OR slip. A must have for sure!

  2. I may have to try those no show socks!! I’ve been cutting off the back end of a couple of pair of socks and wearing those instead—and that’s fine. But sometimes it might be nice to have a heel area!
But I am looking forward to the days when socks are in fashion again…ha ha!!

  3. I bought the Nike no show socks. They are the first ones I have purchased that tell me which foot each one goes on. They do stay in place, but I find them to be a little too snug on my toes that don’t have any feeling to them. I think I should line dry them the next time I launder them.

  4. I’m so excited that canvas sneakers are popular again. I don’t have any Converse, but I love my Keds (with a non-traditional rounded-toe style) and Mossimo brand canvas shoes that look like Vans. Between those two brands, I have white, denim, gray, mint, and cream/navy striped shoes. Fortunately I teach at a school with a very casual dress code, so I can wear those with nice jeans anytime I want. I’ve been wearing canvas shoes more than my flats! Anyway, when looking for true no-show socks to wear with canvas shoes, I look for ones that have a little rubber spot at the heel on the inside. They are the only ones that stay on my foot all day long without a single issue. All the other ones I’ve tried have popped off my heel within about 3 minutes. They aren’t too hard to find – I’ve gotten them at Ross and BJ’s, but I’m sure other stores have them, too.

  5. Thanks for your mention about the chucks looking like boats. I keep trying them on but feel like they make my feet look huge. They always look so cute on everyone else. Maybe I’ll try again.

  6. I’m seeing a trend of comfort and casual here. And that’s right up my alley! Love it all. I do love my Converse…so versatile. And I’ll have to try those socks. Mine are constantly riding down as I run and that just irks me!

    Have a blessed Spring day!

  7. I bought the shorelines on your recommendation and I wear them all the time. Now I guess I will get the Nike no show socks. After you and so many of your commenters agree. Thanks ladies. Like so many others said, pretty much love this entire post, just wish I could wear that fitted dress. Love your blog JoLynne,

  8. Lots of good things in this post! I really like the blue off the shoulder top that can be worn two ways. I’ve been looking for something like that. Pretty color, too.
Have you washed the top yet? I’m curious about shrinkage, with linen and rayon.

  9. Lots of cute stuff in this post!

I love my converse. Lol, my son wore some to prom with his tux several years ago and I asked him why and was told they’re comfy. I tried them on back then and bought myself a pair. (Mine need a wash right now.)

I have a couple of Alex and Ani bracelets. One has a J for my last name and the other has my birthstone. I absolutely love them and wear the heck out of them.

Thanks for sharing this cute stuff. I look forward to your post every day to see what cool stuff you’ve found for us.

  10. I love this post too! I have the Converse and the Nike no show socks based on your recommendation. I’m intrigued by the casual dress, but will try it on in the store based on the “fitted” description. I’d love to see a casual dresses post sometime.

  11. I love the no show socks by Converse. But whichever company comes up with a no show sock with a padded heel and foot (like good running socks) will be my hero!

  12. LOVE the grey blue shirt. I just ordered it. I hope I picked the right size. I’m 5’3 about 128 and got the XS Regular. I sometimes don’t like the way petite clothes fit. Sometimes too short waisted or short in sleeves. I’m glad you don’t have to wear it off the shoulders, as I won’t. Thanks for sharing it Jo-Lynne. I will have to check out those no show socks. I have yet to find some that don’t slip off. Hate that. I get the family Nike discount, so Nike brand works for me. 🙂

  13. PS I want the dress too, but have no idea which size to order and if reg. or petite. I might go to store.

  14. Yes….please do casual dresses and skirts to replace shorts. The older I get the less I like shorts. Hard to find the right fit and length.

  15. Do you have any problems with off the shoulder tops? I bought 2 different ones and both seem to snap up off my arms if I even slightly raise them. I always seem to be adjusting them. Maybe that’s just what happens with these types of tops or just the ones I bought.

  16. Hi….I just received the #3 shirt in the same color. I have a question. You said you got a small. I ordered the extra small, as I’m a lot shorter than you and smaller bust. Does your shirt pull under the arms if you wear it on the shoulders? I ordered it to wear on my shoulders. I’m wondering if maybe I’d need the small, but it fits me like yours fits you in your picture. I love the comfort of the shirt but wondering if its cut to really wear off the shoulder and they just say it can be worn both ways. Thanks Jo-Lynne.
