Meeting the Cast of Hollywood Darlings #CoffeeTalk

Good morning, friends! It’s shaping up to be a beautiful Sunday here. It’s cold right now (35 again… whahhh?) but we should see our temps climb into the 60s this afternoon!

Our weekend has been busy but good. We visited my in-laws yesterday and brought pizza. That was fun. I didn’t do much else with my day besides work, but it feels good to have some content prepped for this coming week. Maybe I’ll get back to reading my book this afternoon.

I mentioned in yesterday’s post that on Friday I attended a meet & greet with the stars from the PopTV show, Hollywood Darlings — Jodie Sweetin from Full House, Beverley Mitchell from 7th Heaven, and Christine Lakin from Step By Step. I thought you guys might like to see some pictures.

I was a big fan of Full House back in the day, and my daughter watches Fuller House so we were both pretty excited to meet Jodie Sweetin. Here we are, waiting for the cast to come out for the Q&A. (Apologies to the gentleman in the back.)

While we waited, I got to catch up with some long-time friends. These girls are the first local bloggers I ever met. We go back a good 10 or 11 years. Crazy to think about that!!!

When the cast came out, we got to chat with them a bit before getting our pictures taken.

Basically Hollywood Darlings is an improv comedy series about these three childhood stars and how they navigate the ups and downs of life in Hollywood. Through a series of misadventures, they guide and support one and other through crazy social situations, relationships, and their careers. It looks hilarious, and I definitely plan to tune in.

Hollywood Darlings airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on PopTV if you’re interested in checking it out. To find your channel, go to Poptv.com and enter your zip code.

It was pretty fun to see the bond between these ladies. I had no idea they’d been friends since childhood, but I guess growing up in the business, it makes sense. They were so down to earth, though, talking about motherhood and how this glam life is their job but when they go home, they’re just like the rest of us. Of course, I know that, but it was nice to hear it.

After the Q&A, we got to meet them and get pictures. My daughter brought her friend along; they watch Fuller House together so they were both pretty starstruck.

So that was a fun way to kick off the weekend! I’ve been feeling kind of gloomy lately so it was nice to have a reason to dress up and get out and do something fun and different. In the interest of full disclosure, this event was sponsored by the Role Mommy Writer’s Network and all opinions are my own.

I’m looking forward to church this morning and then a relaxing afternoon with my book and maybe a nap… on the deck if it’s nice enough!!! There’s nothing I like more than spending a sunny Sunday afternoon on the deck with a good book when the weather is just right.

Hope y’all enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. Hi Jo-Lynne, I enjoyed seeing these pictures and may try to tune in to the new show- looks fun! I’ve been in a funk lately too. Maybe it is the prolonged winter (I’m in North Jersey) but I just don’t have “good vibes” right now. I need a new book! Can you recommend anything? And btw, I have been using the handbag I won from your giveaway just about every day – I can’t tell you how much I love it!

    1. Hey Laurie! I’m so glad to hear you’re enjoying the TB bag! That makes me happy.

I enjoyed several books by Colleen Faulkner and I just downloaded this to read next: https://amzn.to/2u22Soy. Fun fact, the author is a blog reader and regular commenter. 🙂

I also enjoyed MaryBeth Whalen’s latest book – https://amzn.to/2qTU7b9. She’s a friend of mine too.

I know there are others… I should look at my Kindle and see what else I read that I liked in the past year and do a blog post.

  2. Hi! Happy Sunday! I just finished getting ready for church and I had to send a thank you. You taught me how to dress. I walk out the door feeling confident and relaxed (most times anyway lol) because of you. I have always loved fashion and all things style related but until I started reading your blog I was floundering, trying to look great but not quite getting there. ( I got made fun of a lot for my ridiculous style). This may seem extreme but you have been a great help in building my self esteem and helping me to freely enjoy being the unique person God made me to be. I thank Him for you on a frequent basis. You have been such a blessing to me and I don’t even know you personally. ( gotta love social media sometimes huh? I found you on Pinterest)

  3. Cute pics and your daughters are adorable!
Looking forward to the white jean review and jean short review. We’re getting ready for a trip to San Francisco next month and I’ve been looking for jean shorts in petite and that aren’t too wide in the thigh and boy are they hard to find. I ended up with a pair of Calvin Klein that aren’t petite but fit good all over. But I’m still going to see what else is out there and your review will definitely help. Enjoy your day!

    1. Oooooh San Fran sounds fun. I’ve never been!

I am wondering if I should try to get some of my shorts tailored so they fit closer to the thigh. That may be the only option b/c they’re so hard to find. I think it is b/c I’m hippy but have thin legs. Do you fit that description as well, or is it a common problem for everyone?

  4. Good morning… I can’t wait for the white denim blog( I love my white jeans) and I’m glad your also including one on shorts. This has been an issue with me for while. I’m now 50 and feel like shorts in public days are gone, plus everytime I try a pair on they feel too short for the rear view, lol if you know what I mean… and if I go to a Bermuda short  too much of my leg seems cut off as I’m only 5’3… see my delema?? I have started wearing skorts that I find supper comfy or throwing on a cute sundress which I do feel more comfortable in heading out somewhere but I  would like to have at least one Jean pair of shorts for maybe a more casual occasion. So as you can see I’m excited to see what you show and would recommend. And is there an age when shorts in public are passé?
    Have a great day 😀

    1. So yes. Bermudas are tricky. They really aren’t flattering on most of us. The best length for most women is mid-thigh.

I think it depends on the event. I don’t think there is an age where you should no longer wear shorts, but I think as we get older, opting for skirts or skorts or palazzo pants for nicer events is probably best.

  5. The event on Friday looks like a lot of fun!  I bet your daughter and her friend had a blast.  Larry said that when he lived in CA, you would see some of the stars out and about, and he said that they were as plain as everyone else.  In other words, they are normal just like the rest of us, without all of the makeup & glam, but some of them were definitely on the unattractive side.  I am really looking forward to your white jeans review, since that is one item I would really like to add to my closet.  I hope you do get to have a relaxing afternoon, with your book!

    1. Yeah, it’s funny. Even as a fashion blogger, I get that reaction sometimes. Like when people tell me they stress out about what to wear when they are going out with me – not close friends who know the real me, but I’ve had people who don’t know me as well say that. I have to laugh b/c I’m just as unsure of what to wear as anyone else! I just am crazy enough to share it all online. Haha!

I’m sure same goes for celebrities. They’re human just like the rest of us, but it’s easy to imagine them as always glam and put together.

  6. I love your blog and how authentic you are for keeping it real. I love winter get aways but sometimes feel blah after returning, especially when the weather isn’t cooperating. Hang in there! 😀
Always enjoy coffee and the Round Up. Looking forward to your shorts review. No matter how many squats/ lunges I do, I’m still self conscious of my thighs. Any tips are welcome! Hope your Sunday was relaxing.

    1. Hey Yelena. I think at some point we have to just accept our bodies as they are. I have cellulite and saddle bags (lol) but it is what it is. I run, I work out, I watch my diet to a reasonable point. Self tanner helps too! 🙂
