Mom Style | What I Wore 08.01.12

Hello from Connecticut! Yes, we are making our way sloooowly down the East Coast. We are staying at the Hyatt House in Shelton, CT for a couple of nights, and today we’ll be visiting the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk. Meanwhile, What I Wore Wednesday must go on!

This is the outfit I wore to meet Kristi for coffee and to have lunch with mah boyz in the charming little town of Ellsworth, Maine — coral elastic-waist top from Old Navy with distressed straight-leg jeans by Seven for All Mankind (old) and embellished t-strap sandals by Frye (2 years ago). I accessorized with a simple silver bracelet, white leather banded watch and diamond studs.

I wore this out to dinner at the Union River Lobster Pot. We had the most delicious fresh lobster dinners along with some tasty appetizers and desserts that were out of this world. If you’re ever in Ellsworth, Maine, you MUST eat there. Blue and white striped elastic waisted top from Old Navy earlier in the season with white ankle length skinny jeans and flat silver sandals. And my small pink Hobo Int’l purse.

And I wore this on a date night with my husband to celebrate 17 years of marriage. I KNOW. What can I say, I was a baby when he married me! Haha.

The orange embellished top is from . . . wait for it . . . Old Navy. Is there a theme here this week??? And those are the same white jeans.

Finally, this is the outfit I’m wearing today to go to the aquarium and sight seeing. Jean shorts, black ruffle neck sleeveless top from Banana Republic, embellished sandals and my striped tote!

And we’re off!

  1. I love the striped top–I just bought it in solid black on sale. Such a forgiving fit and looks dressy with the right accessories. I’ve been scoring at Old Navy lately too–sometimes I can’t find a thing there and other times I walk out with way too much! I hope your vacation is fabulous. Happy anniversary!

  2. I like the Old Navy theme! They do make wonderful, summery clothes. Very casual and comfortable, yet still attractive! And I like them bc I’m a broke single twentysomething, so I appreciate the thriftiness of Old Navy. Holla! 🙂

  3. I swear….you have to be one of the most fashionable gals I know. I love looking to you for ideas! I love the first look! I have been searching for a pair of t-strap sandals all summer that I like!

    1. You are too sweet. I feel like everything is so plain and repetitive!! Those Frye T-straps were a splurge at the time but I am SO SO glad I did it. I love them, and they are like new after 2 years.

  4. You always dress so cute. Happy Anniversary!
(I’m confused by the blog title…I never know what day it is in the summer but did I lose a whole week? Lol!)
