Mom Style | What I Wore This Week 03.14.12

For more outfit inspiration, check out all of my Mom Style posts.

I’m totally embracing this colored jeans trend. I’ve enjoyed my red ones so much that I went back and got the same ones in green. They’re the Emma Legging by DL1961 in Mermaid, for anyone who’s interested. I got them at a local shop but they have them on sale at Piperlime in size 30 and in many sizes at Neimans.

They look great with black. I paired them first with this black dolman-sleeved sweater from Nordstrom rack and black ballet flats from Nine West. I wore a long necklace from Studio Jewel.

Then I wore them again with my asymmetrical sweater and a black tank and yet another Studio Jewel necklace.

I can’t wait to pair them with lighter spring colors!!

On Sunday I pulled out my go-to spring church outfit. I only wear this once or twice a year, but it’s perfect for this in-between spring weather. This whole outfit is from Banana Republic (except for the accessories.)

The pumps are oldies but goodies from a big Bloomies sale, and I pulled out my coral watch and coral handbag for contrast.

Bring on SPRING!!

The only other outfit I photographed this week was yesterday. The weather they’d been promising us finally arrived. It was a breezy 75 degrees and absolutely heavenly.

I broke out this crocheted sweater by Calvin Klein that I picked up at Nordstrom Rack last fall. I kept it in my drawer all winter, hoping to find a long-sleeved tee to go underneath it but I never did. I wore it with an old pair of straight-leg jeans (for which I’m debating a retirement party. they’re looking rather tired.) and an army-green tank underneath.

I love these orange patent leather flats in the springtime, and they provide the perfect pop of color for this neutral outfit.

And I wore my coral watch and jewelry by Silpada. Aren’t these earrings pretty!?

I’m lining up with these fashionable carnivals:

  1. First – you look great in the colored jeans and I am smiling because I wrote about them today and saying I was not sure I should wear them. But you are inspiring me to try!

Love the cute orange flats. And Spring. Yeah!

    1. Thanks. It only seems to work a few weeks out of the year, lol, but I do enjoy it. Those pants are just a WEE BIT too short for the shoes, though, and it drives me nuts. The shoes are slingbacks so the pants get caught under my heel. Boo.

  2. I am liking the colored jeans thing but hmmm…I can’t find any that don’t have that awkward problem in the stride. I think it shows more because they are colored?

    1. You know what? I’ve noticed that too, and I wonder if it is this brand (my 2 colored jeans are the same brand and style) or if it is the colored denim in general. Do you notice it on others?

  3. Fabulous as always, although I’m not loving the asymmetrical sweater as much as the first time. Hmmm. I am still on the hunt for kelly green denim. Old Navy has some, but they are super skinny fit and there is nothing flattering about them. 🙁

Your church outfit is so pretty!

  4. Meant to add that I live the church outfit too. With a great scarf that would make a nice Easter outfit.

  5. LOVE those green pants! I got some yellow ones recently and am tempted to get green, too. 🙂

    preethi
    lace, etc.

  6. Hey Jp-Lynne! Love your weekly fashion posts. I always read and never comment but I had to come over today because you misidentified your jewelry brand and you know I can’t have that! LOL!

Those fantastic earrings you are wearing are Silpada Designs sterling silver earrings with coral accents (retired last year but still available – item W1560), and I also noticed you are wearing a matching Silpada Designs necklace – not retired, item N1563. They look GREAT on you and I love those pieces, so I couldn’t have you sending people to find them at the wrong company’s website. They are not from Stella & Dot.
