Mom Style | What I Wore This Week 04.04.12

For more outfit inspiration, check out all of my Mom Style posts.

Here we are again! It’s been one of those weeks where I’ve spent several days wearing workout gear — and not always working out, which is NEVER a good thing. But I am turning over a new leaf! I’ve been challenged to try and run at least 5 days a week, so I ran the last 4 days in a row. BOOYAH! I’m not adding distance, just trying to run my regular 3 miles more regularly. But I digress. It isn’t Fitness Friday yet, is it??

On the fashion front . . .

I had a small Silpada party on Thursday, and I wore my “bat sweater” because I feel like I never have the right accessories for it.

I tried on several. I was really tempted by this set.

This one is cool too, especially if I had a blue or green tank on rather than purple.

This one I really love, but not necessarily for this sweater. I think it would go with a lot of my outfits, though.

The one I ended up buying, I only got a crappy phone picture of it. You can’t see it well enough to really appreciate how pretty it is. I have nothing like it, so I think I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

And my very favorite piece I ordered is the matching bracelet, which I have been wanting for months — ever since I saw it the first time I met Justine, my Silpada consultant. I can’t wait for my order to come in!

On Saturday, I had a PSMM Workshop so I wanted to look nice but still be comfortable. I was in a rush so I had my husband snap one quick picture. This is all we got. I don’t know WHAT my hair was doing. But anyway.

I love this taupe cardi and embellished top I got a few year ago at Madewell right before my first BlogHer Conference. And these boot-cut jeans are an old favorite. As are the boots for that matter. I’m sure you’ve seen this get-up at least 100 times. The necklace is from Studio Jewel, and the bracelet I picked up at Madewell when I bought the outfit. I love the bronze tone of the metal with the embellishments on the top. The earrings were a gift from my mother-in-law many year ago. I should have snapped a close-up; they’re really cool.

I wore these I wore this to church on Sunday.

I wanted to wear my red DL jeans again, and I was looking for a top that was not too casual, and not too warm, and not too cold. I hate dressing for this time of year!! I decided to wear this old Banana Republic top with a black and white geometrical pattern. I wore it last with my green jeans, and it works just as well with red. I started to go for my silver ballet flats, and then I remembered these black knotted wedge pumps. I wasn’t sure about wearing my colored jeans with heels. Since I was going to church, the last thing I wanted was to look like a street walker, but I thought these worked because the wedge heel and round toe makes them a bit more casual and cutesy than a pointy stiletto or something.

The weather was on the chilly side, so I pulled out my CAbi jean jacket, and I carried a black leather handbag. And um, something happened to the flash. OOOPS! I tried to fix it in Photoshop but it is all grainy. Boo.

Monday was a work-at-home day, and I threw on these old straight-leg jeans with a new sleeveless coral top I ordered from Old Navy and my favorite Frye sandals. Since more typical spring temperatures have returned to our area, it was too chilly without a sweater so I pulled out this hooded white zip-front cardi. I added a Silpada stone necklace for some added ooomph.

And that’s a wrap! (Told you I didn’t get dressed many days this week!!) Did you post what you wore this week? Let me know and I’ll come visit.

  1. You look good in the boot cut jeans!! I know you wear skinny jeans a ton, but the boot cut look just as cute!

  2. I think turquoise and purple look good together and so did the second pic.. (all the pics looked good but that necklace was my favorite)

  3. I agree the wedges look good. You definitely don’t need to worry about looking like a street walker, LOL! I really like the turquoise necklace too.

  4. Love your website – your style is similar to mind. I have a ton of Silpada jewelry so it’s great to see how you combine outfits and jewelry. Keep posting!
