Mom Style | What I Wore This Week 06.06.12

The weather this spring is CUH-RAZY! This week went from summer to winter in a matter of minutes. My outfits have schizophrenia.

That said, I don’t think I stayed in workout clothes even one day all week so I have pictures of outfits just about every single day. Here’s what I’ve got.

mom style | business lunch

I wore this to a business meeting (I love saying that, lol!!) I wanted to be professional but not over-dressed. I opted for my new white jeans, a blue top from Gap (last year) and my tobacco-colored wedge sandals and jewelry by Silpada.

I carried my coral handbag for a fresh color contrast.

I wore this for a casual day of running errands and working from home. The re-white-and-blue tank is from Old Navy, I rolled up my skinny jeans for a lighter look. I wore my silver sandals from Target (last year). A simple pendant from Grace Tags, my white watch and a silver beaded bracelet were my only accessories.

I wore this outfit to my daughter’s Kindergarten poetry reading and end-of-year party. This outfit was inspired by my bright blue nail polish. (My daughter and I went and got manicures before she went to school.) I decided coral and white would make a pretty contrast to the teal blue, so I pulled out this top from Old Navy and my Charlize teardrop earrings from Stella & Dot and a bracelet I picked up at a local shop. I tried my white jeans rolled up, then I decided I didn’t care for them that way and unrolled them back to their regular length. I still can’t decide. Whaddya say? Silver sandals and a coral bag completed the look.

casual Saturday style

I pulled on this black tank and loden green pencil skirt to go to the Farmer’s Market on Saturday. I love this necklace from Studio Jewel. It is one of my favorites! I’m not sure why there is a blue paper on the chair behind me or why we didn’t remove it. We’re slobs, what can I say?

I wore the same black tank and necklace with my cuffed jean shorts and a pink cardi and pink sandals (it was getting chilly) to a friend’s house for dinner that night.

date-night-style

This is the outfit I wore to church on Sunday. Same white jeans and coral bag and teal blue jewelry I wore on Friday — this time with a black top and my snakeskin espadrilles. The ruffle-neck top is from Banana Republic. I adore black and white together, especially black on top and white on bottom. I added a the Chelsea Necklace from Stella & Dot to fill in the neckline.

I threw this on after church to go to a picnic. I was totally unprepared for the rain storm that cut our picnic short, and I was FREEZING in this outfit. Once back at home, I grabbed a white cardigan that I wore for the rest of the day.

This is what I wore to my son’s 6th Grade Promotion ceremony and to volunteer for his class picnic afterwards. It was COLD. I was cold, even in this.

And if you think that’s a ridiculous outfit for June weather, try this.

magenta sweatshirt and skinny jeans with uggs

Yep, I dug out my Uggs and my heaviest sweatshirt to go to my son’s baseball game last night. I was wrapped in a blanket before it was over.

  1. Love your white jeans. You look great in them. It turned from winter to summer here too. So crazy! My son’s pet lizard has been freezing to death and I totally feel his pain. 😉

  2. I love all of your outfits. You make it look so easy to put things together.

I know what you mean about the weather for June. It’s been cold here in Ohio. I wore a sweatshirt working in the yard yesterday. Hope it warms up in the east; we’re headed that direction tomorrow. I need warm weather for the beach!

    1. It is supposed to warm up this weekend.

Thanks for saying I make it look easy. Trust me, I over-think everything. My outfits for these posts are no different, lol.

  3. Did you end up getting those white jeans hemmed? They look shorter. Love your outfits, as usual. I just tried rolling my skinnies yesterday and liked the look – it will be a nice option for summer.

    1. No, I actually bought new ones. I thought these were going to be more ankle-length than they are, but I decided to keep them b/c I have never bothered getting the others hemmed and don’t know when I’ll get around to it. I guess I’ll have them hemmed longer, but now I’m wondering if the two pairs are redundant since I can wear these with flats AND heels. I love the ankle length for that reason.

  4. I love your face in the last picture. Awesome.

I like the white jeans rolled. You’ve definitely inspired me to try to roll some of my jeans for a different look. And I love the coral bag – awesome pop of color.

  5. I think I would cry if I had to wear boots in June.

Where are your white jeans from? Love them. I like them rolled up too. I’ve been wearing my favorite pair of skinny jeans rolled up and love the look, especially with flat sandals. Sometimes I wear my Converse too and pretend to be a hipster. 😉

    1. This morning I was thinking that I want to cry. Seriously. I cannot believe we are having this weather in June.

I keep meaning to get Converse, and I never get around to it. I’m as far from hipster as it gets, but I still want ’em. 🙂

  6. Bwhaha! I love your pose/face in the last picture. It’s like you were already writing the blog in your head and knew exactly what you were going to say about BOOTS in JUNE! haha.

    1. I so was!!! LOL. I only stopped and took a picture for the entertainment value. It’s not exactly a stylish ensemble, but I had to have proof that I wore boots in June. I didn’t regret it either. It was COLD.

  7. The white jeans are so slimming…which makes me want some :). Great outfits, thanks for sharing!
