Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

I looked at my calendar when I got up this morning and realized that Mother’s Day is less than two weeks away!

It’s going to be a strange Mother’s Day this year, to be sure. So many families are unable to be together, and I especially feel for those with parents in retirement homes and assisted living situations who have no contact at all. We are fortunate that we can at least FaceTime with our parents.

Whether we are together or apart, at least we can honor our moms, daughters who are moms, and other special mother figures in our lives with a thoughtful gift to let them know how much we appreciate them. Here are some ideas.

Just remember, with shipping delays due to COVID-19, it’s best to place your Mother’s Day orders ASAP!

Sparkly Mother’s Day Gifts

14k gold-plated sun necklace with pearl $69.50 (+ 25% off ) // Delicate and classic, this necklace goes with everything and is sure to be a keepsake for whomever receives it.

Kendra Scott Simon Drop Earrings $68 // These are one of my favorite earrings for dressier looks, or when I want to add a little more bling to the everyday, and they’re a versatile style that so many women can wear. They come in gold, silver, rose gold, or a mixed metal style.

Anna Beck Gold Disc Necklace $160 (+ 25% off) // 18k Gold-plated over sterling silver, this is the perfect everyday necklace. I love that it’s reversible so you can wear it on the two-tone side or the silver side.

Victoria Emerson Bracelets // You already know I’m a huge fan of her boho cuffs and wrap bracelets, and these make great gifts. Shop My Favorites:

This sweater runs true to size, and it also comes in black, green, pink, and white.

Sorel Ella Slip-On $42.30 $89.95 53% off!) // These slip-ons make a great indoor/outdoor shoe for this #stayhome life. They’re the perfect slipper upgrade, or they pair well with casual outfit when out and about.

I love the warm gold pictured above, but they come in several neutrals other and some fun colors as well.

Talbots Textured Linen Blend Sweater $79.50 (+ 40% off) // This pretty pullover will keep her stylish and put-together during her time at home, and when she eventually goes back to work. Also available in blue.

Kate Spade Tote $228 (+50% off) // A classic tote perfect for work or travel, or for the busy young mom who needs to be prepared at all times with snacks and toys.

It’s lightweight and durable, and it comes with a removable pouch that snaps in and out for even more storage space. I love this lychee color with the floral lining, but it also comes in a classic black and pretty pale pink.

Cozy Mother’s Day Gifts

Soma Sleep Set $49 sleep sets (+ 30% off) // Soma pajamas are my favorites, and these $49 sleep sets make great gifts. They come in short, regular, and tall lengths, so there’s something for everyone. You can layer the 30% off, which brings them down to $34!

Soma Cool Nights Robe $60 // I love my Soma Cool Nights Robe; I wear it every morning after my shower while I’m doing my hair and makeup. It’s lightweight and soft and super comfy.

Unfortunately, it seems to be excluded from the 30% off sale, but it’s still a reasonable price and makes a nice gift.

Acorn Spa Thong Slippers $37.95 // The perfect summer slipper, with the super soft and velvety moisture-wicking fabric, a memory foam insole, and a raised heel counter for stability. They also have a weatherproof outsole for quick trips to the mailbox.

Daily Ritual Terry Open Sweatshirt // This will be her new favorite — I love mine for throwing on over pajamas in the mornings, and for wearing with a t-shirt and jeans on casual errands (or on these long days at home.)

Prices vary by size and color, but most are right at $30 and ship free with Prime.

Lou & Grey Softblend Sweatpants and Softblend Sweatshirt 50% off with code 24HOURS // Purchased together or separately, these pieces are as soft and luxe as it gets, and they mix and match with other wardrobe staples. They run TTS; I have the small in both.

Self Care

Elemis Pro-Collagen Cleansing Balm $60 // This deep cleansing cleansing balm is like bringing the spa home. It dissolves make-up, daily grime, and pollutants for a nourished and glowing complexion. I love the scent and that it comes with a gentle cleansing cloth.

I also just started using the Elemis Pro-Collagen Eye Revive Mask, which makes the perfect pairing to the cleansing balm for a pampering gift.

It comes in 3 scents; this Aloe Agave smells of freshly picked apples mixed with fresh aloe, berries, and sparkling lemon.

Active Mother’s Day Gifts

Athleta Cloudlight Stratus Tee $54 // This tee is beyond soft, plus super lightweight and breathable, with a longer length to cover her assets.

The scoop neck and relaxed fit are flattering and comfortable, and she can wear it alone or layered under her favorite wrap. Also, the TENCEL Modal fabric makes this a sustainable choice.

Athleta Ultimate Stash Pocket Capri $79 // Perfect for everything from her sweatiest HIIT workout to a zen yoga practice, these capris have a comfortable high waistband, and they’re made of a sleek and supportive compression fabric that stays in place and feels great against the skin.

Plus, they have two bonded side stash pockets and one back waistband key/card pocket for all her stuff, and they’re made of recycled nylon, making them a sustainable pick.

Athleta Pranayama Wrap $89 // This sublimely soft and sumptuous wrap comes in a wide range of colors, plus it’s available in regular, petite, tall and plus sizes.

Athleta truly thought of everything when they designed this one — side pockets for your stuff, extra long sleeves thumbholes, a clean open front, and longer in the back to cover the bum. Also, the TENCEL Modal fabric makes this a sustainable choice.

Vuori Performance Joggers $84 // These joggers have a slim but relaxed fit with a slightly cropped leg, side pockets, and a drawstring waist; and they’re made of the softest stretch fabric. Perfect for yoga, walking the dog, lounging, travel, or her next Netflix marathon.

Vuori Performance Hoodie $89 // This jacket pairs perfectly with the Vuori joggers (above), or with her go-to leggings. It’s the same buttery soft fabric as the joggers, and the contrasting trim makes it a stylish and practical choice for all your activities.

Luxe Mother’s Day Gifts

Gucci 51 mm Cat Eye Sunglasses $224 $320 30% off// The Gucci sunglasses that came in my trunk just went 30% off, so I thought I’d add them in here.

These are so chic and gorgeous, and the modified cat-eye silhouette is classic — they make a great splurge-worthy gift for the glam mom in your life, or treat yo’ self!

D Yurman X Crossover Ring $295 // An extra special gift for an extra special mom or perhaps a milestone Mother’s Day… This D Yurman ring is a classic she can wear every day for years. I love the two-tone design, so it goes with all her jewelry.

Everlane loafers $155 // Buttery soft, luxe, and sustainable… these make a lovely gift for the mindful woman with classic style.

I hope these Mother’s Day gift ideas are helpful!

  1. Those are all great ideas. Thanks Jo-Lynne.  All I want for Mother’s Day is to see my 3 grown kids and their spouses and my granddaughter who is 8 months old and my new grandson to come, due on Mother’s Day.  Also, of course my own dear mom who is in memory care assisted living and I haven’t seen her since all of this virus thing started. She was in regular assisted living and on Good Friday we had to make an emergency move to memory care, as she was roaming outside looking for my dad, who’s been gone for over 20 yrs.  It was so hard to not be with my mom and help her with the move to a new facility and she doesn’t remember why we aren’t coming to see her.  This Mother’s Day, I will only be able to drop her off a card and gift at the door for the staff to take to her.  We are blessed, as we are all well, but I miss them more than you know.  I think its really going to be a hard Mother’s Day this year being apart from them.  Enjoy all your kids with you this year.  You are blessed to have them all in the same household as you.  By the way, I ordered the light weight blue cardigan for myself and its due here this week.  I call it my quarantine fatigue purchase last week.  🙂 lol  Thanks for styling it in a post one day…..I ordered off your link.

  2. Great post – so many pretty things! But I splurged last week on all the AnnTaylor cuteness, so unless I can get my family to look at those earrings, I might have to be satisfied. Loved the post on Ozzy – appreciative of the fact that so many homes are welcoming new fur babies into their lives. I hope the love lasts when everyone goes back to work. I feel there is a light at the end of this awful tunnel – maybe May??

  3. Hi Jo Lynne,
I ordered the blue shirt tail sweater along with the pink one from the loft!
They will be part of my mother’s day gift to me! 😊
They will go great with my new navy rainbow Tory Burch sandals I also ordered.
My husband has never enjoyed gift buying, so after 30 years of marriage,
I have learned to just buy my own gifts, I’m happy
and he’s happy he doesn’t have to figure out what to buy.
The best gift though is if my sons and their gals are allowed for a visit,
And we have a dinner here at home,
As we are in Michigan, and are still not allowed to gather.
Maybe our governor will lighten the restrictions  back to limit of 10 before Mother’s Day.
