My 7 Favorite Beauty Products Right Now

There are a few beauty products I get asked about over and over again, and then some that I want to share with you because I think everyone should know how amazing they are, so I put together this list of 7 favorite of my beauty products right now.

My 7 Favorite Beauty Products Right Now

#1. Beauty Blender (similar): I picked mine up at CVS, but I linked to another one online if you prefer to order one. This is a great little tool for blending in your concealer and foundation and making sure your skin looks flawless.

#2. CND Solar Oil: This product is AMAZING for keeping your nails healthy and strong. I had pretty much sworn off gel manicures until I discovered a new nail salon that recommends this product. Seriously, a game changer. When I slack off, I can tell immediately — my nails get brittle and start to chip and break. If I use it every night, my nails stay moisturized and healthy.

#3. Lancome Hypnose Drama Mascara: I’ve been using Lancome mascara since I was 16. I have tried other brands over the years, but nothing compares. I’m currently using the Hypnose Drama Full Volume, and I love it. It’s a lengthener and a thickener, and it does an amazing job. I always apply 2 or three light coats.

Lately, I’ve taken to adding a final layer of Benefit’s They’re Real Lengthening Mascara on top. It really puts the finishing touch on my face, and I’ve had lots of questions about what mascara I use. I love the combination of the two, but if I could only keep one, I’d keep my Lancome.

#4. IT COSMETICS Bye Bye Under Eye Anti-Aging Concealer: I just recently discovered this product, and I LOVE IT. I didn’t used to wear much concealer, but as I get older, I have dark circles and bags under my eyes that I need to disguise. This stuff is AMAZING.

#5. Clarins Self-Tanning Instant Gel: This is my go-to self tanning lotion. I swear by it. It goes on smoothly and doesn’t make you orange. I start using it about now, and I’ll use it all summer long. If you’re not confident in your ability apply self tanner, see my post: How To Apply Self Tanner.

#6. Urban Decay Naked Smoky Eye Shadow Palette: This is another new discovery. I’ve heard of these Naked palettes for ages, but I finally broke down and bought one. Seriously the best eye shadow I’ve ever used. They have so much pigment, they go on smoothly, and last all day.

#7. Coconut Oil: This one may surprise you, but in addition to be healthy to eat, coconut oil makes a fabulous beauty product. I slather it on my dry skin for instant moisture, and I keep a little container in my bathroom to use as eye makeup remover. NOTHING works as well. It’s gentle and removes eye makeup thoroughly — all 3 or 4 layers of my heavy duty mascara!

I have so many more, but those are some of my absolute favorites.

I’d love to hear about any of your favorite beauty products! I’m always up for trying new things.

  1. I know what you mean about self-tanners. I am so thankful for their invention, nobody wants to see these pale legs! I am gearing up for a self-tanner post, so I popped over to read yours. Thanks for all the tips. I already use coconut oil for my skin, but I may give it a try for removing my mascara. I have worried about it getting on my contacts. I guess you never know till you try. I am looking forward to the 27 days of Spring with Cyndi!!! You ladies rock!

  2. First time comment
    Thanks for all your info
I love your fun style ! Always hv to look for
    Cheaper version!
    Happy spring!

  3. Can’t wait for your spring styles! I’ll have to checkout the self tanner up you mentioned. I just tossed out the ole Jergens self tanner when I cleaned out my bathroom vanity drawers last week. Out with the old, in with the new! I love starting spring out with some new products, so thank you for some great tips! Enjoy your stay in the woods! That road in is something else, isn’t it? Our daughter teaches in that school district, so when they have a school delay or cancellation, you can see why!

  4. I’ll never forget when I went to the dermatologist about 2 years ago and she commented on how dry my skin was. She told me to use coconut oil. It works great.

  5. One reason I don’t wear shorts is because of how white my legs are and my lack of knowledge in applying self tanner. So I will definitely see your post on that. My must have beauty product is plain ole baking soda. Once a week I put a small amount in my hand, add a little water to make it into a thin paste, rub it all throu my hair, rinse, then proceed to shampoo. The soda removes all of the product built up in my hair and makes it squeaky clean. It’s simple and very safe. I keep soda in a sealed plastic container in the shower so it’s there when I need it. Enjoy your time in the woods. Sounds like an awesome place! Can’t wait to see what all you and Jo-Lynne share with us for spring. And yes, I follow you because of your style! So, you will have a lot to add to the conference in TX, just as you are! God bless!

  6. Do you use this self-tanner on your face? At what point in your night time face routine do you apply it? Before or after moisturizer?

  7. I’ve been looking for a better mascara, so thanks for sharing these!

I’m sure you have quite a number of post ideas already (!!! 😉 but I was wondering if you’d ever considered writing about skin care and/or makeup choices for tween/teenagers who are just beginning to wear makeup. I have daughters in that age group – and know you do, too – and I was just wondering what products you’re introducing your girls to as they begin their own skin care routine. (And if you’ve posted about it in the past, forgive me as I don’t remember that – and point me to the post!) Thanks!!

  8. I have tried the Lancome Hypnose Drama mascara but have trouble with clumps. You mentioned you put on 2 or 3 light coats. Do you have any tips? Thanks in advance!

    1. Yes, it does take some practice. I also notice that it goes on differently as it the amount left in the tube starts to diminish. I should try to do a video. You have to do a sideways motion to get the wand to grab the lashes. And then I use the tip to lengthen.

  9. I’m very interested to read about your beauty faves and there are a couple I would like to try. Recently I
ordered a few products from the new Honest Beauty natural line and I am very impressed with the Prime lotion. Can’t wait for the Spring posts!

  10. I also recently discovered the Bye Bye Under Eye and it is amazing. It’s the only concealer that has worked on the circles under my eyes. I also use coconut oil as a moisturizer and makeup remover. The only problem I have is it keeps clogging my drain! I have some CND solar oil but I always forget to use it. I am definitely going to pull it back out. My favorite mascara is L’Oreal Voluminous. I have long eyelashes but they are getting thinner with age and this mascara works great for me. Great post!

  11. I starting using the solar oil for my nails about a month ago. It truly is amazing! I also use coconut oil. I use it at night over my night time moisturizer. I put a lot on my face, and I can really tell a difference! I’ve been using it close to a year now. People have asked me what I’m doing differently.
Thanks for the other products. I too, may have to try the mascara. Urban Decay eye shadows truly are the best! At least for me.
You’re such a wonderful writer. I could imagine that fireplace on a gloomy day. You made it sound so inviting. I’m so glad you’re having a good time. 🙂
Can’t wait for you and Cyndi’s spring series!!
Have a wonderful rest of your day!

  12. This post was timely as I am looking for a new self tanner. I will check out your how to apply post. I love your posts. I have gotten so many great fashion ideas and other ideas as well. Can’t wait to see the spring outfits!!

  13. Urban Decay Perversion mascara is my favorite right now. It’s a little expensive, but lasts a long time. Thanks for the great tips! I always enjoy your blog!

  14. I love coconut oil too. I use it on my nails and face as a moisturizer.
Looking forward to your spring fashion series!

  15. Thanks for all the ideas. I’m looking for an easier to apply self tanner now. It’s about that time here!
My go to staple products, which I know I’ve shared before, are definitely oils…coconut, jojoba, and argan. I love that they’re all multi use and natural. I don’t think I could go without bronzer either, but I don’t have a specific brand I swear by.

  16. Hi! I know it’s been months since this post, but I’m hunting for a great mascara and I’m curious about your Lancome recommendation. I want to purchase the Lancome Hypnose, but don’t know if you buy water proof or regular. Which one do you recommend/use? Thank you!
