My Daily Looks: What I Wore Lately Vol. 4

You guys, I’m getting all out of whack with my scheduling. These posts are supposed to go up every other Wednesday, but I’ve been working for hours on a post for today, and it is nowhere near finished.

It’s about what makes a quality garment, and it is going to require more time than I have this morning, and I really want it to be helpful.

So! I am going to drop back and punt… as my mom used to say.

I grabbed these pictures, which I already had edited and uploaded for next Wednesday, and I’m going to share them today. I’ll share the post on quality clothing one day next week.

What I Wore Lately

For anyone new here, I’m 5’5″ and I typically wear a small in tops, 28 or 29 in jeans, and size 8 in dresses. Everything I’m wearing below is a small or size 29 unless otherwise noted. Click on the picture or the link below to see the items I’m wearing.

First up, a look I wore last Thursday to CBS (Community Bible Study)… This is nothing new to the regulars, but it’s proof that fashion bloggers do re-wear clothes!

I still love this sweater and these jeans… the sweater is on sale and available at several retailers. The jeans, unfortunately, sold out, as did the mules, so I linked a similar pair for both of those.

The next day was Friday, and I wore this casual look around the house. I wanted to see how these jeans held up to a few hours of wear, so even though it was chilly for cropped jeans and sneakers, I wore it anyway. (And I did cut off that tag… I am keeping the sweatshirt too!)

All three of these pieces are from Amazon, and I am very pleased with the quality of the sweatshirt and the jeans — for the price, they’re both a very good value.

The sneakers are cute and comfortable, not particularly good quality, but worth the price. I like how lightweight they are, and how much cushion they have around the tongue and the ankle area. If you like the look of Golden Goose and not the price tag, these are an excellent budget-friendly alternative.

This was Saturday, and I got myself all gussied up to go to a ladies’ Bible Study at church, and then it started to snow and I decided to stay put.

I actually wore this for a good part of the day at home — these boots are that comfortable. But eventually I switched to my grey UGG slippers.

And this is what I wore to church on Sunday. It was a coooold day, so I figured knee-high boots over jeans were my best bet, and then I added a cozy sweater on top.

This sweater sold out; it’s the 360Cashmere one that I picked up recently at Nordstrom Rack — I highly recommend checking there when looking for higher end sweaters. You can often find great deals, especially this time of year. I usually search by the brand I’m looking for.

I know, you’ve seen this a gazillion times… but when it’s good, it’s good! On the plus side, all of these items are still fully stocked. I wore this working at home on Monday, after a photo shoot with Alison.

Tuesday was the day I went to get my eyebrows microbladed, and I wore another one of my favorite cozy sweaters, jeans, and booties. It was another frigid day so I wore black socks. (I often get asked what socks I wear with booties in the winter… I went with black because my boots were black.)

And this was me at home on Wednesday… I wore this all day, waiting for my appliances to arrive. I went out for a walk in the afternoon, and it was really nice to be all ready go to!

And finally, this was yesterday. I’ve been wearing this hat because I haven’t washed my hair yet… but, today is the day!

I’m trying to protect my new eyebrows, but I can’t go any longer so I will have to be very careful not to get any shampoo on them.

I went with a 28 in these jeans, by the way! (They were on sale when I got them, so I would not recommend paying full price.)

And that’s a wrap! I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

          1. Are there any good duplicate bags you can suggest? I can’t afford Louis Vuitton, I wish I could.

  1. I enjoy these posts…seeing what you wear on a day-to-day basis. Love the Rails sweater, but after buying what seems like MANY sweaters lately, I have to stop. The sales have been great though. I bought three Naadam sweaters and love each one of them, plus the soft cotton v-neck Everlane sweater, and an Amazon sweater (which is what I’m wearing today). I love that Sweaty Betty pullover, but it is definitely pricey.

    1. You got a lot of good ones! 🙂 Yes, the SB pullover is kind of ridiculous. I actually pulled the tags off and went to wear it before double checking the price. I may have thought twice if I’d realized… but I think I’m going to get a lot of wear out of it. Wearing it now, actually. 🙂

  2. You look great in everything.  You are always transparent about your sizing and I appreciate that and it is helpful, but I was wandering what body shape (type) you are ?  Doing the adore your wardrobe course and learning how important body type is for choosing the most flattering pieces.  Enjoy your weekend.

      1. Well of course you are…🤣… just kidding.  everything looks great on you..  enjoying  the course until they took my skinny jeans.  Straight is trending and I’m praying for more boot cut In the future.
        Thanks

      1. Looking forward to seeing how you like it. I’m thinking about it but hesitant bc of its permanence. Also, are you seeing benefits to collagen peptides?

        1. I think it’s a matter of finding the right person. I consulted with a couple before deciding on one.

Can’t say I see any results from collagen but I haven’t been consistent with it either.

  3. Hi! A word about keeping your brows from getting wet – I purchased a shampoo cap (HOOYEE Safe Shampoo Shower Bathing Protection Bath Cap Soft Adjustable Visor Hat) from Amazon, you can still wash your hair, but it keeps your face dry.

  4. All of us have days where things just don’t work out like we hoped it would.  The positive is that you had another post available for today!  It is nice to see how you dress when you are not in front of the camera.  It’s another wet and chilly day here in south central Georgia, but we are actually supposed to have a dry Sat. & Sun., which will be our first dry weekend since the beginning of last December.  Have a fabulous Friday!

  5. Love these photos! Thank you for posting them! I am needing a crossbody bag for traveling. Do you have a recommendation?

    1. Nancy – I finally found a simple, good quality travel crossbody I love after trying sooo many that wouldn’t work for my specific needs that were too small, too large, too thin, too much hardware, etc. – the “Fossil Fiona Large Crossbody” and it’s reasonably priced at Zappos.

  6. You look terrific in everything! Hope you are happy with your new kitchen appliances. Its 48F here – yippee for warmer weather. Now just have to wash my dirty car…. Hope that doesn’t jinx us to get more snow 😂

  7. Love these posts.. and I never get tired of seeing that cowl neck sweater with jeans( I can see why it’s your favorite)! Looking forward to the post about what makes a garment quality… I was asking for this 🤗…

  8. I loved this post and yesterday’s Day In The Life. You are knocking these Posts “out of the park”. Your outfits inspire all of us and I go through the same procedures everyday ! What a coincidence! But I just have 100% confidence seeing you in action and knowing I look good too! I am grateful for all you share and telling me about Adore Your Wardrobe. Thanks Jo-Lynne.

  9. Decided to go ahead and get the cute ivory Chelsea 28 sweater.  It says to size down on Nordstrom website.  Did you get your regular Small?  Thank you for all the great recommendations!!

  10. Can you do a post on how to use Shoprunner? I just ran into another episode today (well my husband did as I sent him to Ann Taylor to do a return since our closest one is up in Newport near his office) and they wouldn’t give a refund because it was past the 30 days, but if I had Shoprunner I would have gotten a full refund plus I could’ve sent it back with free shipping. How did I not know about this?! I see you mention it from time to time but honestly never paid much attention. How does it work?

P.S.- I just ordered the gray striped hooded sweatshirt from Amazon. It looks perfect for wearing over leggings and sneaks when I walk my dogs down or have Sunday breakfast down at the beach.

    1. It’s simple – all you do is sign up. There is a fee unless you have a certain credit card – maybe AmEx? I think even a Paypal account qualifies for a free membership. Most people can get it for free. Then any website that has Shoprunner as a shipping option, you select that at check out. Sometimes you print out a return label from Shoprunner, and sometimes it will direct you back to the website where you made the purchase, but either way, returns area free. Also, most packages arrive in 2 days.

      1. I finally signed on for Shoprunner recently because of your mention of it in previous posts, and I love it! (I got it for free as a Mastercard holder.)

  11. I simply love those classic knee high black leather boots, you look amazing and just complete that outfit. Such a shame they are now sold out, I;ll keep looking.
