Greetings, friends! As of 9:30 AM EST this morning, the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is open for public access, and I’ve been combing the website for restocks and the best styles that are still available.
This is the perfect time to update your fall uniform because prices on brand new fall styles aren’t likely to be this low again until at least Black Friday weekend.
As for my fall uniform, six days out of seven, you will find me in a pullover sweater and jeans. Something like this…
This v-neck pullover is soft and comfortable with an oversized fit and a nice drape, perfect for pairing with skinny jeans.
It comes in several other colors, and I’m thinking of picking up the burgundy while it’s on sale — that color is fully stocked, by the way!
I like the split hi-lo hem and the ribbed trim cuffs and hem. They’re subtle details, but they help elevate the simple look.
I’m wearing my true size small, but you could size down for a closer fit.
These KUT from the Kloth jeans were one of my favorite denim purchases from the sale this year, and you can’t beat the price. I love the flattering fit, the comfortable 10 1/4″ front rise, and the 27″ inseam.
They have the perfect faded medium wash for dressing up or down, with raw hems and just a hint of distressing. They also make this Donna style with a zip fly and traditional hems, and these jeans are fully stocked.
Then all I have to add is a pair of loafers or booties, a layered necklace and some simple hoops, and I’m ready to face the day.
Oh, and don’t forget a great bag.
This Coach courier bag was one of the first items from the #NSale Preview to catch my eye, and it did not disappoint.
The leather is gorgeous, the interior is spacious, and I think the contrast stitching is really fun. It coordinates beautifully with my leopard print loafers.
Animal prints are still going strong this fall, and I love how they add pattern and texture to an outfit. My leopard print loafers are low inventory, but these Dr. Scholl’s loafers are a really good alternative. In fact, I might like them even better.
My sunnies are not part of the sale, but I love this Prada pair for a splurge purchase, and Quay has a few good options for under $50.
I’m also wearing these Kendra Scott hoops and layer necklace.
While a pullover is always my favorite denim pairing, sometimes I change it up and go for a layered look on top.
A cardigan over a t-shirt with jeans is another fool-proof outfit formula I fall back on time and time again, and I also really love this ruana.
It’s made of a super soft cashmere, and it has such a nice drape. I love that it is attached under the arms, so it stays in place when you move around.
It has an open front and ribbed trim on the sleeves, pockets, and hem.
I love how the patch pockets are placed on the front, so the way they don’t hang down on the inside and show when you move around.
I’m wearing the oatmeal color, but it comes in some other choices as well.
Even though these are simple looks, I feel stylish and put-together and ready for whatever might crop up during the day. With three kids, one never knows…

I love both these looks but the first would be my go too.. other than a more leisurely look taken up a notch😉. I’m a big fan of the animal print and glad it’s still around. Love the handbag! I’m looking forward to seeing what’s available to us in Canada on line tomorrow which is when the sale opens to us… finally lol

Me too! Right now I have no idea what they are even going to offer us.. they have shown nothing on line.. we don’t have any Nordstrom stores here or near by so it’s just the on line. Strange we never got a sneak peek or chance to make a wish list.. 🤷♀️

Love this post. Makes me want fall to be here! I have a couple of layered necklaces and they always get twisted up when I wear them. Do you have that problem?
I don’t really seem to have that problem as much as some people, or it doesn’t bother me, lol.
I love the Dr. Scholls’s leopard print loafers and had already checked them out, but I cannot wear medium width in that style. Dang it! I would really like to find a pair of leopard print mules in a narrow width. I have now ordered the Kut from the Kloth button front skinnies. I think I need to replace my one pair of bootcut jeans, but I need to check my closet before placing an order. One thing I am finding to be frustrating about the Nsale is that the two items I ordered on the 13th are still getting ready to ship, but two items I ordered days later are enroute. Make it a great day!
Just a thought on the delay of shipping – remember Iowa was hit really hard last week with destructive storms and the Nordstrom distributor was hit so yes – there are delays.

Although it’s frustrating that so many things are sold out already, I’m just using your links in all your review posts to check back on things, in case of returns. I just used your links to purchase two different washes of the Donna Kut from the Kloth skinnies, the dark blue (which you didn’t feature) and the alternative to the button front that you linked above. If I ever get to work onsite again (my campus is online this Fall), I can wear both those pairs. Distressing is just one step too far, plus I’m super self conscious about my tummy, so I shy away button front, though they look so cute on you.
On a different note, everyone please keep California in your thoughts. We are having a heatwave and there are many fires. I’m in the Bay Area, and ash is falling outside. Many people including myself don’t have AC and we have to keep everything shut because of the poor air quality. 2020!
