My Spring Uniform

** Thanks to Nordstrom and Collective Voice for sponsoring this post!

Spring weather has finally arrived here in Philly, and I’m so excited to finally break out all my short sleeves and lightweight jackets! It’s my favorite way to top off my favorite jeans for spring. In fact, I am hereby dubbing this my spring uniform… sounds like a good blog post title, does it not?

KUT from the Kloth denim jacket (S) // Madewell tee (S) // KUT from the Kloth Meg (6) // Tory Burch espadrille slides // similar handbag // similar belt // similar necklace // similar earrings // DIFF sunglasses

I’ve tried tons of pants and jeans this season, and today I wanted to focus in on some of the more budget-friendly options I’ve found. These are all under $100, and you can find everything I’m wearing in this post at Nordstrom, for easy one-stop shopping!

The first pair is the KUT from the Kloth Meg. It’s a high-waisted wide leg style in a really nice shade of beige. The inseam on these is 27 1/2″, so they’re ankle length on me, which is perfect for pairing with flats or heels.

In this case, I wore flat slides because I love how the colors play off the beige pants. Unfortunately, the color I’m wearing sold out, but I also really like that navy/tan combo.

I topped off these beige wide leg jeans with a classic white v-neck tee and denim jacket… simple and easy!

This jacket is a little longer and more oversized than a traditional trucker jacket, but it still has some shape through the waist that makes it flattering even with the wide leg pants. It has a little bit of stretch for comfort, and the faded wash keeps the look casual.

I chose a brown belt and a mix of metals in my jewelry to tie it all together.

Another outfit combo I never tire of is a denim jacket with a white tee and army green cargo pants. These Wit & Wisdom stretch cotton cargo pants are a little more forest green than army green, but they work just as well. In fact, I kind of like the more saturated color for a change.

Wit & Wisdom cargo pants (6) // Madewell tee (S) // KUT from the Kloth Meg (6) // Kork-Ease clogs (8) // similar handbag // similar belt // similar necklace // similar earrings

These pants have a 26 1/2″ inseam with a 18″ leg opening, making them a more of cropped bootcut or kick flare. I like how they added the patch pocket and “hammer loop” on the thigh to give a nod to the cargo pant that is trending again this season.

They also have the Wit & Wisdom ‘Ab’Solution waistband that helps to shape and smooth and hold everything in, but they’ve also got a lot of stretch, so they’re very comfortable.

Speaking of comfortable… You’re probably sick of seeing these clogs by now, but I find myself reaching for them anytime I want a casual pair of heels that isn’t a sandal or boot. They have a cushioned footbed and feel soft against the foot, and they look great with all styles and lengths of jeans.

My last outfit features an updated utility style jacket in an olive green that pairs easily with all shades of blue jeans, as well as white and ecru and even black. The fabric is super soft and lightweight, and I love all the details.

KUT from the Kloth Ingrid (S) // Madewell tee (S) // Wit & Wisdom straight crop jeans (6) // Kork-Ease sandals (8) // similar necklace // similar earrings // DIFF sunglasses

It has tonal elbow patches, a covered button placket plus a zipper for ease of use, silver hardware, and snap flap pockets. The relaxed boxy fit is easy to wear and allows plenty of room for movement.

These slim straight leg jeans are another pair of Wit & Wisdom with the ‘Ab’Solution technology, and they have a 26 1/2″ cropped inseam with a flirty slit hem. They’re super stretchy and comfortable, and I really like this medium indigo wash.

Both these jeans and the cargo pants run big, which is typical for this brand; you’ll want to size down, or go with your regular Wit & Wisdom size. I’m wearing the 6 in both.

My sandals are another Kork-Ease find. I highly recommend them for comfort sandals that don’t look like comfort sandals… Okay, well, maybe they do a little bit. But I love them, and I feel like the chunky style helps offset the wider leg silhouettes that are trending this season.

I packed them for my Nashville trip last week and walked almost a mile in them one night. The leather straps are so soft, and the cushioned footbed and stable block heel kept my feet very happy.

Finally, I wouldn’t be doing my job as a fashion blogger if I didn’t call your attention to these DIFF sunglasses. As I like to say, no outfit is complete without a great pair of sunglasses, and these are a really nice pair for under $100. I love the oversized square frames and the gradient lenses.

  1. I like my kut from the kloth jeans I have. Seeing some spring options is great! I too am excited for spring. Thanks for styling so many spring options!

  2. Can you do a post on sunglasses? How do we pick a pair? What is in vs. out and where to look? What should we consider when trying them on?

  3. I think I’ll order the Wit n’ Wisdom jeans in 2 sizes. They do run big. They seem to fit me well and the measurements on these should be good for me. I wish I could say its Spring here in NW Oregon. We are having another late snow. Its been snowing all morning and looks like a Winter Wonderland at my house. Does not seem like my grandkids just hunted Easter eggs a few days ago here. Last year we got snow on April 11th, just a day ago, so strange again this year. I’m ready for Summer…….skip Spring now. You look great in this post. Love the casual look.

  4. PS Jo-Lynne. Do the Wit n’ Wisdom jeans bag out at the knees. Read some reviews. Or do they bag out at all? My other ones I’ve had don’t.

  5. Hi Jo Lynne,
Did I miss were you bought the brown belt? I need a new one, and am hoping you didn’t buy it a long time ago and will be available.
    Thanks!

  6. Love every bit of your spring uniform! I can’t get some of the jeans but I’m cutting up some old navy ones to copy you!

  7. My spring uniform is usually similar to yours, but for the next two weeks we will be in Disney so needed to dig out all the shorts and tanks and bathing suits and Mickey T’s!! Wanted you to know I searched for all your Disney posts and enjoyed rereading them!! Especially loved the Disney Springs post with you and Cyndi!! 😀 There will be six adults and three kids, so I read through all the posts. Haha!! Thanks for making them easily accessible!

  8. Here in south Louisiana, it will start feeling like summer in the next few weeks. 🥵 Yesterday the green utility pants from Gap Factory came in and I love them! I ordered a size smaller than normal and was really worried it would be too snug. But Lo and behold they fit and don’t slide down! 😂🙌🏻 Loving your “spring uniform”!

  9. Jolynne, your opinion on Kut from the Cloth Catherine High waist crop slim boyfriend jeans vs Mother jeans which I wear in 29 size wise?? Also, would these be dated looking?? Need your opinion on the size to order if you like these?? Saw on Evereve. Thank you!
