Navy & Chestnut

It is frigid in Pennsylvania right now, and that means turtleneck weather! I’m so glad I invested in a couple chunky wool turtlenecks this winter. I’m definitely getting my money’s worth!!

This Cambridge Cable Turtleneck from J.Crew is a classic that will never go out of style. It’s on sale for 30% off, but the sizes and colors are going fast. If you want one, grab one now. These turtlenecks also come in petite, although I’m wearing a regular. I’m 5’5″. I did buy a small, however. I typically wear a medium, but J.Crew sweaters seem to run big, so you can probably size down.

I was planning to wear this sweater with my white jeans and chestnut OTK boots, but when I put the outfit on, my husband thought it looked weird. I’m thinking he’s just not used to the trend of wearing white jeans in the wintertime, but I switched to my light wash Emma Legging Jeans, and I like this look too. It’s super casual, but the boots and leopard clutch jazz it up.

I accessorized with a mix of gold and silver, but mostly silver. I love how my Curb Link Ring has both metals so I can wear it with anything. It’s spendy, but it was a Christmas gift from my husband. He tries to buy me stuff I wouldn’t buy myself, which, as you probably can guess, gets increasingly difficult as my job continues to grow. Ha!

The bracelets are D Yurman as well. The Cable Classics Bracelet is from last Christmas, and I’ve had the Oval Link Bracelet for years. That’s the nice thing about pieces like this, they last forever and never go out of style.

The Dolce Vita Ohanna OTK boots are no longer available, but the Dolce Vita Okana, on sale for $149 at Anthropologie, is quite similar. Unfortunately, those are selling fast as well. You can also find them at Zappo’s, but they’re still full price at $280.

  1. Love the sweater on you. Color is great. No wool here in Savannah though even now that it is cold. Gave that up years ago. 🙂 Great outfit though for you. Love how you accessorized also.

  2. I really like your boots! I’m a fan of white jeans in winter too, but. See it more on Pinterest than n real life, I think my hubby would look at me weirdly too. ????

  3. I’m still coveting your boots! Loving this color combo and your leopard bag really ties it all together. I can so see white jeans with it, too. Is your nail polish a gray? I’m wearing a gray on my nails and like it a lot for winter-goes with so much.
    Stay warm!!

  4. Simply gorgeous outfit!

I have to report that I’m so loving my capsule wardrobe and the simplicity of getting ready in the morning. I love trying new combos with my clothes that I wouldn’t normally do. I haven’t gotten bored at all, and will go the distance thru March with plenty to wear. I’ve tweaked it since the beginning, and added one new piece, but i took one away that i wasn’t reaching for a lot. The capsule is a great way to hone in on your style and realize which clothes look and feel best on you.

  5. I too am still coveting your boots. The heels are pretty high, for “normal” weekend wear… how tired are your feet after a few hours of standing around? 🙂

  6. Looks so great on you! I need to look in to these again. I’m NOT a turtleneck fan, I think it’s because I feel like it makes my face bulge lol! BUT…I really like the outfit you put together. Clicking over now!

  7. Great outfit ! Love the navy sweater !
I see with your capsule that you don’t have any colored jeans / cords besides the olive ones. Also, no camouflage. Was wondering if they’re not on trend anymore and you got rid of them or you just stored them away. I have colored. Jeans and camouflage and I haven’t been that inclined to wear them recently but I get bored with wearing blue and black jeans every day .

    1. Hey Kathleen. So yeah, I ditched my camo jeans a while back. I never loved the fit, and I felt like they might be getting dated. My colored jeans were all faded and they’ve been gone for a while. They really did fall out of fashion pretty fast, which bums me out because I did enjoy them. Black and blue and grey and white seem to be popular, and I think we will see more pastel jeans this spring. I also like my olive green ones. My khaki ones got stained, and I’m super bummed about that. I loved those.

I really should try to wear more skirts to change things up, but when it’s this cold, I have NO desire, LOL.
