Navy & White with a Pop of Pink

Greetings, friends, and TGIF! Today is a big day in our house — I just put my youngest child on the bus for her last day of elementary school, and my oldest graduates high school tonight. Emotions are running high, as you can imagine. Right now I’m in task mode. I have so much to get done to be ready for the party tomorrow, I can’t really think about the significance of the day. I’m sure there will be some tears shed tonight, but I’m also excited to see what the future holds.

Today I have an outfit that could be work wear for some office environments, or in my case, it’s something I’d wear to church. This lacy flare sleeve top is great for those ladies who get cold when indoors as well as those who like to keep their arms somewhat covered.

Isn’t the detail on these sleeves pretty???

Ann Taylor is running a 40% off sale, which is why I chose to post this outfit today. This top comes down to $35 when you plug in the discount code SPF40. The yellow top I styled on Tuesday is also included, and it’s $29 after the discount! The sale ends Sunday.

I always pair navy blue with white. I should probably venture out of my comfort zone and try something else, but I love the crisp navy and white palette.

White pumps would work, but I think the nude sandals are a bit unexpected, and I like wearing nude shoes with white jeans.

Here’s an up-close look at the shoes. I love this oatmeal suede color. It’s close to my skintone and goes with just about everything. I know I’ve said it before, but these shoes are extremely comfortable and easy to walk in.

And look at me, carrying my pink bag again! It bothers me a little that I have a red pedicure and a pink bag, but I’m trying not to overthink it.

I wore this monogram necklace to fill the v-neckline, and I love how it works into the gold in the bag. I also wore a gold cuff bracelet and pearl earrings.

  1. Great Pop of Color!  I have those shoes, and I did hear you say for the heel size they are comfortable and I have to agree!  I don’t wear heels for long periods of time, but these work!  Have a great day!

  2. How exciting! I have graduated two from high school and I remember all those feelings. Embrace the moment and enjoy your time. Congrats Momma!

  3. I just love the trio of navy, bright pink and white. Beautiful combo!! You have a great weekend, Jo-Lynne! Just enjoy and savor every moment. Celebrate. It’s your accomplishment as well as your son’s. And enjoy all the family and friends who gather around you. Blessings, sweet lady!!

  4. Thoughts and prayers for you today! It doesn’t seem fair that the reward for being a good mom is that we “lose them” in a way. But at the same time, well done Mama! Be proud! Be sad! Be happy! You have the right to every emotion you want to (or don’t want to) feel and to be able to share it. Thinking of you.

  5. i love the combination of navy and pink with the white tres chic! I was thinking your colour summer clutch bag would also work well with this?
I hope your party goes well tomorrow – exciting times!

  6. Another winner of an outfit! I could wear it to the office with white dress pants or on Fridays with jeans 🙂

I have been researching color blocking this week and I saw lots of red and pink together. I think it looks fine.

Congratulations to David. I hope tonight and the party are fun and full of memories to carry you through the summer and beyond.

  7. Oh and these Bloomie’s sales… ack lol! I am trying to resist the leopard and gold Millers. I bought the new Rose Gold Millers from Neiman Marcus yesterday with a sale code. Bad, bad me lol! It hasn’t even been warm enough to wear sandals for more than a day here and there!!

  8. You’re cracking me up with the pink bag/red pedi comment 🙂 So exciting for your son and yet so sad for the parents…. I will be in your shoes in a year and I’m sad thinking about it.

  12. Love navy & white. Guess any pop of color for purse would be good. Nothing wrong with being emotional today. Any mother would feel that way. Just another chapter.

  13. That color combination is so pretty and the top is really cute!  Congratulations to your son!  It’s a great accomplishment for you all.  Having all the emotions just shows how much you love your kids!

  17. I remember the days of first born graduation. Yes…. lots of emotions. Try to enjoy the moments. The party planning etc can get in the way. Try to focus time with him.  I did it 3 times, then college grads, married off 2 girls and now this month my son is getting married.  It seems hard to think of my baby getting married. She so sweet, so I’m happy for him. Life keeps moving on huh?

  18. Great outfit! Love the pop of pink!
And congratulations to your graduate!! Enjoy your weekend and this huge milestone 🙂
