October Favorites 2019

Happy Friday, friends! Who has fun plans for the weekend? My calendar is gloriously empty, and I’m not mad about it. I do need to see what the girls have going on, though. Maybe Paul and I will be able to fit in a date night around their social plans.

Today I’m sharing my October favorites . . . I’m slipping this in under the wire! I cannot believe that November starts next week. This is a collection of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven

October Favorites

one // I’ve shared this long sleeve tee multiple times, and it’s definitely one I’m reaching for over and over right now. It’s the perfect weight for these mild fall days, and if you live in a climate that stays mild all winter long, I would highly recommend considering this piece.

It is definitely an oversized fit, but the material is super soft and thin (in a good way) and has a great drape, so give it a big ole front tuck, and you’ll be good to go! It’s true to size, or size down if in between; I have the small.

two // I had my nails done in this CND Masquerade for the wedding I attended a few weeks ago, and I have enjoyed it so much. It’s a gorgeous shade of deep red that reminds me of red wine, with just a hint of shimmer.

The picture above is the best one I could find of it actually on my nails, but it’s really so much prettier in person.

three // These were an #NSale purchase, and I’m glad I grabbed a pair right at the very end of the sale because they’re back to full price. They’re one of the few #NSale items that are still fully stocked, and even at full price, I would say they’re a good value.

The quality is fantastic, and they’re very walkable and have a leather lining that feels nice against the foot. (I do not wear socks with these.) The pointed toe and western vibe is very much on trend this fall, so these are a great way to update your fall wardrobe.

I have the tortilla suede, but I also really like the snake prints. They have quite a few, and some are new, so if you’ve been wanting some snake print booties, be sure to check them out.

One last thing — these booties do run small, as indicated on the website. I sized up to an 8.5.

four // This little tortoiseshell hair cuff is a great way to level up your ponytail, and it’s 30% off today.

five // These calf hair d’orsay flats are on sale for $54, and they’re a great way to jazz up a simple outfit. I love the pebble print, but they also come in leopard (those are $64.) They run TTS; I have the 8M.

also wearing: DL1961 skinnies

six // I’ve been wearing this layer necklace a ton. I like how it has 2 pendants, rather than 3 or 4. That seems more modern at the moment. I’m also not seeing as many super long necklaces these days and find myself reaching for this one more often.

It’s particularly nice for open neck tops, but you could wear it over a crewneck or boatneck as well.

also wearing: Everlane sweater

seven // I love my TB Minnie flats, they are sooo comfortable. I often just throw them on when I’m at home instead of wearing slippers.

They’re a splurge, but they’re 20% off at Bloomingdale’s right now, and if you add on to your order, you can get up to 30% off. The new suede styles are really fun for fall. These are the Dark Tiramisu, and the Gray Heron is really nice too. They also have them in navy and red.

I wear these in my usual size 8, but I do find them a little tight in the toe area when I first get them. After wearing them a few times, they break in nicely. I tried the 8.5, and they were definitely too big, but I have narrow feet. If you have higher arches or wider feet, you may want to size up half.

eight // I just ordered this pumpkin scented candle when it was on sale at Anthro, and we are burning it nonstop. It’s back to full price, and I can only find it at Nordstrom, but I wanted to share it anyway. These make nice gifts, as well.

nine // This leopard print teddie sweater is such a nice piece at a great price point. You can dress it up or down, wear it to work, wear it to go out to dinner, wear it with jeans on a Saturday.

It’s soft and comfortable, and it fits close to the body without clinging. Highly recommend adding this to your fall/winter wardrobe. It’s TTS; I have the small.

ten // I just added this purse to my closet. It’s a great price for a buttery leather bag and the perfect size for everyday.

Plus the light beige is super versatile and can be worn with just about anything.

also wearing: plaid coat

eleven // I finally found a belt I love, and I’ve been trying to wear it more. I need to get some other colors because black and silver doesn’t always work with my outfit, but this one is a really nice quality and I love the unique “buckle” mechanism.

There are more sizes here, and it also comes in brown.

also wearing: camo sweater with AG Angel bootcut jeans

And that’s a wrap! Have you been enjoying any of these pieces this month?

  1. I always like these posts. Where DID October go? Our weekend plans are to take our motorhome to 2 wineries in Maryland. We belong to Harvest Hosts which is a program that for a small fee allows you to stay in your RV at wineries and orchards all over the US for free. Looks like there might be rain in the forecast– guess I better pack a raincoat!

  2. Sometimes It’s nice to have nothing on the calendar. Our lives are always so busy that we need some quiet time, some catch up time, and some just plain lazy days. Enjoy your weekend!

  3. You’re killing me with that camo sweater from Anthro, haha. I know the point of that pic was the belt, but every time you post an outfit with that sweater I want it again. I might have to finally go for it when I get paid next week.

    1. I know! EVERY time! It looks like the perfect fit – the arms aren’t too short. Love the colors, etc. I was just going to click on it again!!

      1. I finally caved on that sweater because I loved it every time you posted it. I think I got it for 20 or 25% off but my size is backordered until the end of November. Looking forward to seeing it in person though!

  4. Love your nail polish suggestions. Masquerade on my nails for the next couple of wedding weekends! Have a cozy relaxing weekend!

  5. Love this post, especially your comments regarding the nail color. Thanks so much for your hard work Jolynne, love your blog!

  6. Hey there! What size do you wear in that belt? Love it and I am picky about belts, too- most are so uncomfortable  with my short wasted frame. Love the post & have a great weekend!

  7. Love seeing the favorites. Our leaves have been absolutely beautiful this year and seemed to change early. We’ve had some windy days so we have lost a few but still looking like fall.  Having dinner out tonight with our grown kids lol… can’t wait to head to Maine in a few weeks colors are usually beautiful and of course my shopping lol
    Happy weekend

  8. A lot of beautiful favorites, but my favorite is that ring you’re wearing in the last picture with the Anthro sweater! I’ve been looking for a ring like that for my right hand. Hopefully a fashion ring and not fine jewelry??? The budget is limited. 😉

  9. Can you believe that Christmas is two months from today!  I really like the lightweight long sleeve top and the fun flats!  I hope you’ve had a good day and that your feet are feeling better.

  10. I don’t paint my nails very often, but let me tell you, that shade of nail polish has me absolutely SWOONING! I many have to grab a bottle and do my nails for the holiday season.
