Orange & White in Savannah

Happy Friday, friends! Cheers to the weekend! This week has flown for me, but I’m ready to kick back and relax for a bit. We’ve been having some rain and cooler temperatures for the past couple of days, but it’s supposed to warm up and be sunny for most of the weekend so YAY!

Today I’m sharing a casual outfit I wore when we were in Savannah last weekend.

Orange & White Spring Outfit with Tory Burch Miller Fringe Thong Sandals

This outfit was actually inspired by these sandals. I saw them on another blogger earlier in the season and immediately fell in love. I’m already a huge fan of the Tory Burch Miller Sandals; I have them in white and sand patent. They’re comfortable and classy, and they go with everything. When I saw the new fringe style with the orange and pink combination, it was love at first sight.

I held off on the purchase because the price tag is a bit steep, but then Bloomingdale’s ran a surprise sale a few weeks ago, and I was delighted to see that these weren’t excluded (because the Miller sandals often are.) I snagged them for 30% off, and I’ve been waiting anxiously for the chance to wear them, so of course they came with me to Savannah! (They run true to size.)

The sandals are no longer on sale, but if you’re part of the Bloomingdale’s Lloyalist rewards program, they are currently running one of their promotions where you can get a $25 reward card on every $100 you purchase, so that would be $50 back on the purchase of these Miller Fringe Sandals.

It’s free to sign up, and as a Lloyalist you also get free shipping and returns on all orders with no minimum purchase, plus you get rewards points on everything you buy at Bloomingdale’s that add up and earn you $25 reward cards for every 5000 points. Just like Nordstrom, they have opportunities throughout the year to earn double and triple points, and if you’re a card holder, you earn points faster.

A lot of my outfits come together when I happen to see pieces sitting next to each other in my closet. I’ve had this orange scoopneck linen tee (it’s actually called Geo Red, but it looks more orange than red to me) hanging on my clothing rack for a while. When I saw it near my new sandals, I immediately knew I wanted to wear them together.

They’d be cute with blue jeans, but I like the crisp combination of the orange with my white distressed skinnies. I love how the sandals elevate this basic look and pull it all together.

For size reference, I have the medium in this tee, and the Geo Red is on sale for $21.99. I tried a small, but it was to tight, so if you are in between sizes as I am, you will probably want to go with the larger.

These jeans are 25% off at Bloomingdale’s right now with code FRIENDS, so it’s a great time to splurge if they’ve been on your wish list. I love them. They have the perfect amount of distressing, and the released hem is on trend and adds to the casual vibe.

White jeans tend to look dressy, so I think the distressing on these helps keep the look more casual but still crisp, and I like the texture it adds to an outfit. These jeans are nice and thick and not see-through, but I did go up a size so they aren’t too tight through the thighs. I’m in shape, but I still have some jiggly bits that I don’t want showing through. That is probably TMI, but I’m just keeping it real!

Since this is just a simple t-shirt and jeans outfit, I wanted to add a few elements to jazz it up a bit. The sandals are a fun, whimsical touch, and I also added my large gold monogram necklace and a stack of Alex and Ani beaded bangles. I finished off the look with my favorite aviators and my white saddlebag.

  1. Love the look I am the same way about matching I will see something in my closet or in the store and say hay that looks great together or that would go good with. Thank you so much for your fashion tips.

  2. Sandals are still hiding in my closet as of now…ha ha! But there’s a chance this weekend I might be able to wear a pair.
It’s nice to hear that you watch for sales too, Jo-Lynne. And these sandals are so colorful that how could you not love them??
And orange is such a bright & summery color—you look fantastic in it!

  3. You look amazing. I love the combo of orange and white. How fun to style your outfit around your shoes. I do that quite often with my bags or a scarf. It gives us a foundation from which to pick out the rest of the outfit. Perfect warm weather look. I can’t wait for those days! Thanks for posting and for hosting the link up. Have a great weekend, JoLynne. – Amy

  4. What a cute outfit. I love the combination of pink and orange (or Geo Red as they call it – you’re right it doesn’t look red to me – LOL).

I must say the sandals are SOOO cute! But I just can’t justify spending that much for sandals. Boo … Oh well … that’s life. 🙂

I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy your upcoming travel.

    Blessings …

  5. I saw those exact sandals recently and loved them. I am really loving the Miller sandal in blue and white stripe for summer – may have to pull out that credit card soon! This post might push me over the edge – love her shoes! Very nice outfit for running errands – simple but pulled together. Love your blog!

  6. I really like how the various pieces put together made this a great looking outfit! I actually have some old fake stone earrings that are various shades of orange and pink that I think would look great with this.
I ordered a pair of the ON Rockstar skinny jeans with the shaping in them. I laundered them and have worn them one time, but they were so uncomfortable, I couldn’t wait to get home and take them off. This is not the first pair of white jeans I’ve ordered that I’m not happy with. I have purchased a pair of white capris from Belk that are very comfortable and I like them. In your opinion, for a very casual lifestyle, can nice capris be as versatile as long pants?
    Thank you!

  7. Love this color combo. I am actually wearing my orange shirt today for casual Friday at work. I paired mine with blue jeans and an olive sweater and olive boots. I really must begin the hunt for some great white jeans!! 🙂

  8. Hi! I am considering buying a pair of Millers in the makeup shade for my birthday. The reviews are really mixed. Do you find that they are comfortable, or that the width is narrow? I also noticed reviewers commenting that they run 1/2 a size small? I need someone to talk me in to buying them!

    1. I LOVE the makeup shade. I keep looking at it longingly but it is too close to my sand patent to justify. 🙂 They have absolutely no support (obviously, lol) but I do find them VERY comfortable and they’re just so cute. They are my only sandals I keep out year round. I wear them to get my monthly pedicures, and they’re my go-to all summer long. I have sort of flat but not super narrow feet, and they’re fine. They do stand up a little bit off the top of my foot, but it doesn’t bother me and I don’t have a hard time keeping them on. I wear a size 8 – like i do in most sandals. Hope that helps! Of course, with Nordstrom, you can return/exchange for free if they don’t fit.

  9. Very cute well put together spring outfit! I love those sandals and my daughter has some in the basic tan that she got a few years ago….but they never seem to go out of style and they go with everything, so good invest for her. But for me, I have a hard time spending over $200 on any one item and I’m short so I usually go for a wedge sandal. But, boy are they cute!!!

  10. Oh my goodness, this is the kind of outfit I love love love! Especially those shoes! I’ve never purchased anything from Tory Burch, but love their bright bold colors! I didn’t know you could get them on sale! That might just make all the difference! Really a beautiful and fun combination with your top and jeans and that necklace!

  11. This is such a cute outfit! You look wonderful in bright colors like orange and bright pink. And the sandals are just so gorgeous! Like someone else said, I struggle spending $200+ on a single item. But I have been lusting for the Miller sandals for so long.

  12. Love the white jeans with the orange top and those sandals are adorable!!!! My black Tory’s are so worn and faded so I guess that means it is time for a new pair. Love the pics from Savannah! And it looks the weather was perfect for your mini getaway with the hubby. So nice to do that a few times a year!

  13. You look amazing in this color, Jo-Lynne! I’m in love with this whole look! Thanks for all you do to inspire me every day!
