Overheard

My friend called me yesterday to tell me about a little conversation she overheard between my daughter and her son when they were playing at her house a few days ago.  Evidently they have been studying the Greeks in their homeschooling curriculum, and her 4-year-old son was pretending to be Zeus.

And he asked my 5-year-old daughter to bow down to him.

That right there was enough to tickle my funny bone and get me giggling.  I could just picture it.

And my daughter, being the independent woman that she is, replied:  "No. I won’t. I only bow down to God."

I only wish I could have been a fly on the wall.  I can just picture her indignant body language as she set him straight.  I guess I won’t have to worry about HER blindly following the crowd!

  1. How funny! I love reading kid’s quotes and writing our notable ones down. Good to have them down the line for weddings and graduation parties.

  2. So sweet! Aren’t those little moments what we as Mom’s are alway hoping for? Years of training and occasionally getting to see the fruit!

    Yay!

  3. She’s got it down! It’s always so funny to hear how kidlets interact and feels great when you realize they HAVE been listening to their parents and teachers.
