Picnic Time with Nordstrom Rack

My favorite time of year is finally here! Summer often takes its sweet old time to arrive here in Pennsylvania, but once it does, we have the perfect weather for outdoor activities. It rarely gets so hot that you can’t enjoy be outside comfortably, at least in the shade, and we have tons of hiking trails and state parks and picnic spots to enjoy.

I can’t to pack a cooler and load the car with picnic supplies and meet friends at a nearby state park, or attend one of our favorite music festivals.

If your picnic gear needs a refresh, Nordstrom Rack has all the supplies you need at prices that won’t break the budget! I rounded up a bunch of my favorites below.

one // two // three // four // five // six // seven // eight // nine // ten // eleven // twelve // thirteen

#1. Cooler with Trolley // This insulated collapsible cooler comes with a padded lid that doubles as extra seating! It holds 24 cans inside, and the best part is, you don’t even have to stand up to grab a drink — just open the front panel door. It has a center divider to keep the drinks separated from the snacks and a padded shoulder strap for easy carrying.

#2. Insulated Tote // This is the perfect insulated tote for food and beverages on the way out, and wet swimsuits and towels on the way back. It has a 24-can capacity along with a large external pocket and comfortable carrying straps.

#3. Wine Tote // How cute is this wine tote with a cheese board, cheese knife, and stainless steel corkscrew? It makes the perfect tote for a romantic sunset picnic at the beach or the lake.

#4. On-Ice Condiment Server // This handy little gizmo keeps your condiments and garnishes chilled and fresh. Just spread a bed of ice on bottom of tray and position the 4 condiment compartments above. Each removable compartment has a 2-cup capacity, and it’s all dishwasher safe for easy cleanup. This is just as useful when hosting outdoor gatherings at home as it is on your picnic.

#5. Appetizers on Ice // Similar to #4, this revolving tray with removable dip cup keeps your appetizers chilled over a bed of ice. I love how the food trays and dip cup have a lid to keep the bugs out. I just ordered this, can’t wait to use it when hosting Caroline’s graduation party in a few weeks!

#6. Turkish Cotton Beach Towel // I was gifted one of these for Christmas, and I love how lightweight and absorbent it is. It can also double as a sarong or wrap if you get chilly in the evening.

#7. XL Camp Chair // These are super handy for everything from picnics and camping to sitting on the sidelines at your kid’s soccer games. It holds up to 400 pounds and includes a drawstring bag for easy portability.

#8. Reclining Backpack Chair // Another seating option, this lightweight chair has a reclining seat back with 6 positions. It also has an integrated cup holder in the armrest and an attached pillow for added comfort. Best of all, the convenient backpack straps keep your hands free.

#9. Outdoor Blanket Tote // We have one of these portable picnic blankets, and it’s perfect for sitting on wet grass or sand because it has a water resistant underside and comfy fleece on top. Plus, it folds up and packs easily into a carry tote with shoulder strap. This blanket opens up to 21 sq. ft. so it can pretty much seat the whole family!

#10. Cooler Backpack // I included a bunch of cooler options because it seems like every time we go on a picnic or to a music festival, we need several. This one can be a food and beverage tote or an all-around activity tote. It has a variety of expandable pockets and front-mounted stretch cord, so it accommodates a lot more than it may appear.

#11. Umbrella Tent // This nifty portable tent creates shade from the hot sun at the beach or anywhere. It sets up in seconds, and it includes four interior pockets for extra supplies.

#12. Adventure Wagon // I’m thinking of getting this for Paul for Father’s Day. It’s a bit of a splurge, but it’s big enough to carry all the food, gear and accessories that you might need for a family picnic or all-day music festival. The top lid folds in half for easy access into the wagon, plus it provides a sturdy table for serving food and drinks once you get to your destination. The all-terrain wheels and telescopic handle should make it easy to maneuver over uneven ground.

#13. Portable Grill // No more jockeying for use of one of the public grills at the picnic area — just bring your own! This 10″ portable charcoal grill comes with a carrying tote that doubles as a cooler. This is also handy for those who enjoy camping, or it would make a great gift for a young adult starting out in a small apartment.

  1. well, that was a timely post, Jo Lynne! I had a Nordstrom bonus note that was to expire on May 31, 2021 and was wondering what I would use it for (as I am not in a clothes shopping mood). Ordered several things!

  2. Such a great post! No need to go hunting around in several places for this or that…it’s all rounded up for us! Thank you!

  3. Paul will love the adventure wagon! It is so sturdy and so handy to haul stuff. We love ours. So glad you folks can celebrate Carolyne’s high school graduation. Our high school grads are being done virtually. We are allowed to get together outside only as a group of 5 people here in Alberta, Canada. Indoor gatherings are banned completely. COVD fatigue is real.
