Pink Draped Jacket in Arizona + Nordstrom Bonus Points Event

Greetings, friends! We’ve finally made it to the last outfit from my photo shoot in Arizona. This is the outfit I actually wore for the day of the conference and brand meetings.

When I discovered this drape front faux suede jacket on the Nordstrom website, I was afraid the large lapels would add volume to an area where I don’t really need any, but the material is so soft and drapey, it’s actually very flattering.

It’s also extremely soft and comfortable, and while it’s thin, it does provide some warmth. It’s a great completer piece to have in your closet for spring, when you’re done with leather and heavy suede jackets but still want something chic and flattering to throw with a cami or t-shirt.

It was rather windy during this shoot so I had a hard time keeping it in place, but when I wore it all day, I found the jacket very comfortable and easy to stay put.

In fact, I like this jacket so much that I ended up getting it in the heathered grey as well. You can see that outfit HERE.

For size reference, I have the medium in both. This is my usual size in BlankNYC jackets.

Also, have you heard? It’s Nordstrom Bonus Points time???

That’s right. Now through Sunday, March 17th, you can earn 6 points per dollar with your Nordstrom credit card, 4 points per dollar with a Nordstrom debit card, and 2 points per dollar as a Nordy Club member!

During Bonus Points, things tend to go fast, so don’t wait. I’ve just updated my Nordstrom Shop Page with all of my top recommendations, so be sure to check it out!

Oka, so back to today’s outfit…

I love to wear blush paired with denim; I think it makes such a pleasing combination. I chose a mid-wash denim for a low contrast between the two pieces. That is purely preference, and a darker wash would look great too, but I like the combination of the light colors.

These jeans are certainly not new to those of you who are regulars around here, but I hope by styling them so often, you can see how versatile they are.

They’re definitely my favorite pair of jeans and have been for some time. I used to wear the ripped version the most, but nowadays I find myself gravitating more to these.

If you like the look, these Rag & Bone jeans just went on sale. They’re an inch shorter and have a slightly darker wash, but they’re really great jeans and very flattering on. And for a pair under $100, I like these Wit & Wisdom raw hem skinnies.

I went ahead and wore booties with this look. I wear my booties well into springtime, especially since it’s so cold in my neck of the woods.

Also, this particular pair is more suited to milder weather since the styling doesn’t really allow you to wear socks. At least, that’s my preference with the split shaft. Plus I think the light grey suede is a nice compliment to the rest of the colors in this outfit.

The mixed jersey tank I’m wearing is off-white, and it’s a great wardrobe basic. I wear it a lot under jackets and cardigans.

I love that it’s bra-friendly, and it also has a double layer in the front so it’s not see-through at all. For reference, I’m wearing the small. It also comes in blush, black, and navy.

This necklace is another fun piece. I like that it’s adjustable so you can tailor the length to your person and your outfit.

It has a casual vibe with a bit of a rocker edge to it, which I think works in well with the booties and the moto-inspired jacket.

I have to say, I think this outfit encompasses my personal style about as well as any I’ve ever put together. I felt so good in it when I was in Arizona, and I’m sure I’ll find a lot of other opportunities to wear it as our weather starts to warm up here in a few weeks.

    1. You can zip it – it is intended to be an option and it does a cowl thing – maybe you saw on the website? I haven’t tried it that way. I like it open, but next time I wear it, I’ll zip it up and see how it looks.

  1. I love this outfit! I bought the jacket in the gray and it’s a definite keeper. I, too, was afraid the extra fabric in the front might be too much over the girls, but it drapes so nicely! I also ordered the Madewell Kimball sweater. Loved the look and the oatmeal-ish color, but I found it so itchy that I had to send it back. 🙁

  2. I LOVE this outfit thatbyou also look so nice in!  I also LOVE the scenery.  Stunning all the way around!  Thanks for telling us about the double points at Nordstrom.  There is just one item I need to add to my spring wardrobe, so hopefully they will have it.  I sure hope you feel better soon!

  3. Luv your posts – would really, really like to find jeans in petite! About the only ones I’ve found are NYDJ.

  4. This outfit is perfect on you! I have the same jacket in blush and gray but I’m thinking of returning the gray. It is a great jacket, though!!

    1. Thanks, I think I have a touch of vertigo — probably from the plane flight. I’ve had it a few times. It’s not getting worse, though, so hopefully it will go away soon.

  5. This is my favorite outfit so far from your spring series. I love that you can dress it up or down. I was actually able to find a very similar jacket at TJMaxx but I may have order the grey one too. Also thank you for sharing the Wit and Wisdom jeans. I ordered a dark wash pair called rise in the fall and I love them. So this lighter wash will be perfect for spring.
