September Favorites 🍂

Well, folks. It’s official — I’m back to posting on Saturdays. I’ve been planning out the rest of the month, and this is definitely not the time of year to cut back. I simply can’t fit everything in without posting on Saturdays, so here we are!

Yes, it’s time for September Favorites — a roundup of new finds and old favorites that I’m particularly loving right now!

September Favorites 🍂

Links and descriptions are below the pictures, and I tried to mention sizing notes when applicable. Feel free to ask any questions in the comments, and I’ll get back to you!

James Perse V-Neck Tee // I just discovered James Perse tees, and I’m a fan for life. Such nice quality, a better drape than cheaper tees, and the cut on this one is perfect — if only it weren’t quite so low-cut in the front. But I’m willing to deal with it because it’s practically perfect in every {other} way. I take the size 2, for reference.

These tees aren’t cheap, but I found them on sale at Nordstrom Rack and Saks Off Fifth. I prefer ordering from Off Fifth because they have Shoprunner for easy returns. You can also find them on Amazon, but they’re not on sale.

Steve Madden Flavor Flat Mules // I’ve surprised myself by how many times I slide on these snake print mules to go with an outfit I’m trying on. I said I was going to keep the snake print loafers and return these, but I ended up doing the opposite. They’re TTS.

I really like mules for this time of year, and they seem to compliment crop jeans better than loafers. (Still working on finding crop flares that I really like, but this BlankNYC pair isn’t bad — wearing in the pic above — and I just ordered these Mother Insiders from the Bloomies sale.)

LOFT Floral Mixed Media Dolman Tee // This is one of my favorite blouses right now. I find myself wearing it with all different color jeans, and even shorts sometimes. See it here with grey jeans, here with white jeans, and also with white shorts. It’s currently 30% off, and I take a small.

CND Married to the Mauve // This is my favorite nail color for early fall. It’s such a pretty hue — dark enough to give a nod to fall but still bright enough to hold onto that last bit of summer. (And the Lip Sleeping Mask is pretty awesome too!)

WHBM Flounce-Trim Sleeveless Top // This top is a great little transition piece for those of us living in areas where fall is slow to arrive. The color is rich and saturated, the ruffle detail somehow does not add visual weight to the chest region, and the narrow v-neck is flattering.

I actually wore this last night with these same jeans, and I threw on a taupe moto jacket because it was chilly out. It’s a size small.

Vince Camuto Kimora Cutout Shield Sandals // Another awesome transition piece . . . this time a shoe. These peep-toe booties are perfect for dressing up your favorite jeans, and they ‘re also fun to pair with dresses. I recommend sizing down half in these.

Sub_Urban Riot Indoorsy Graphic Tee // Pardon the awkward selfie, but the words get reversed when I take a mirror selfie.

I just got this graphic tee in the mail this week (and of course it’s starting to sell out . . . but there are more sizes HERE.) It’s soft and comfy, and a nice alternative to a plain t-shirt. I have a feeling I’m going to be wearing it a lot. It’s a small.

AG Prima Ankle Skinny Jeans // Well, I couldn’t do a favorites post without the jeans I wear every other day, could I? I’m sure a lot of you’re sick of seeing these, but they’re on sale again, and they’re fully stocked!!! I have the size 29, for reference.

JLS Fashion Tribe // This is not a product but a community. If you’re on Facebook, be sure to check out my JLS Fashion Tribe — a closed Facebook Group for chatting all things fashion.

I started it to share #NSale info, but we all hit it off so well that I decided to keep it open. We have a lot of fun over there, sharing our fashion finds, try-ons, style questions, and more! If you haven’t joined us yet, I hope you’ll check it out.

  1. Jo-Lynne, I love that floral top and the red with the ruffle. They are both so complimentary and as you say could be worn with so many other things. I really do love the transition time of summer to fall and spring to summer. It always seems the best time for wearing our light layers and showing off some of our favorite pieces. Great picks! Have a great weekend. – Amy

  2. I giggled when I saw your post in my email box. But I do get it. I have an idea about summer blogs….when it starts getting to feel like your having trouble with enough content…so like the Hallmark Channel…start showing holiday ideas. Everything from clothing attire, to table decor, to early shopping tips. OR you could go back to your original idea and take a day or two off per week. Lol

I’m so ready for fall, but we’re still having mid 80-90’s temps here in the Texas panhandle. Love all the transition pieces.

    Have a great weekend

    1. Yeah, I think I need to take it easy in the summer. It gets to be a struggle to come up with content, and people aren’t as engaged. Which is fine — I get it. I want to enjoy summertime too! I always consider it and then keep going as per usual, but next year I’m going to try to remember and change my posting schedule.

  3. So many cute pieces!!! I ordered the Kimora shoes yesterday since they are marked down and the Indoorsy shirt just now. I was starting a shopping ban today and failed already 😂😂 but that tee is so me, I couldn’t resist!

  4. I bought the mother of mauve nail polish and love it:)  I also wanted to add a bit of snakeskin as I’m pretty well covered with the cheetah or leopard prints so I picked up a small snakeskin handbag to add to my wardrobe. Can’t wait to use it.
    Happy weekend

  5. Welcome back to Saturdays!  😊  I still haven’t found my love for snakeskin, but those sneakers sure look cute on you.  I love my loft floral top!  I wore with a light cardigan to church and plan to  wear it into the Fall with heavier cardigans.  And will try it with my gray jeans next!

  6. I really enjoy your posts and always learn so much. One question: have you washed the James Perse t-shirt? I’m wondering how it holds up to washing. Does it shrink or wrinkle? Thank you!

    1. It actually “grew” a bit when I washed it. I was careful, not wanting it to shrink, so I put it thru the dryer on low for about 20 minutes with some towels and then hung it to dry the rest of the way. Now it’s even lower in the neckline, and plenty roomy through the chest area (which was snug at first) so I’m going to dry it all the way next time.

  7. I like those Steve Madden mules. Are they comfortable and do they stay on? How do you like the Madewell Remi mules in spotted calf hair? They just came back into stock at Nordstrom in 8.5 (I’m normally 8 but sometimes 8.5) and I snagged it for $34.99 b4 it could be sold out again. How are the Madewell compared to the Maddens in terms of quality.

  8. Great post JoLynne!  I still support you taking Saturday’s off, but am always glad to see an email from you.  I’m looking forward to the gift guides for this Christmas.  What month do you usually post those?  🍁

  9. Thank you for including your height, weight and sizes in your posts. It’s very useful as I have a very similar body type. But could you also include your bust, waist and hip measurements in inches? It would be very helpful in terms of sizing for some items. Thank you!

  10. The style of the maroon top is awesome!  You look so pretty in the selfie with the Indoorsy tee!  I am enjoying my mules also, and suspect I will enjoy wearing them even after the temps cool down.  I hope you are having an enjoyable weekend!

  11. I really love that James Perse t…have it in my cart. I wish the Rack had free shipping. I always end up spending $100 to get it even when I don’t want to.

What jeans are those that you have on with the Vince Camuto heels?

  12. Crud, now I think I have to get the WHBM shirt AND the plaid shoes! You are killing me! Waiting on that bonus check….come on!
