Singing The Blues…

Today I’ve got a spring transition look that will have you singing the blues… We shot this spring look on Monday, and thought I’d better share it before anything starts selling out. You know how that goes. PLUS these jeans are $39.

Yes, you read that right. I did not miss a digit. These are the Lucky Brand Ava Jeggings, and I found them at Macy’s.

You may have seen them in Sunday’s post, but I was more focused on the sneakers I was featuring, and I want to give these a little more air time because they are really good. Not only do they fit great and look good, but so far, they have not bagged out on me. *cue angels singing*

For today’s post, I paired them with this printed peasant top (also Lucky Brand, but from Lord + Taylor.)

L+T is also having a big sale right now, and this top is only $41.65 with code FRIENDS.

It’s a nice lightweight top for springtime, and you can wear the sleeves long or pushed-up as I have them here. For size reference, I have the small.

The shoes are also on sale, and they’re a really good price for leather sandals. They’re extremely comfortable, and I like the lower heel height for a change.

I’m also carrying my white crossbody (also at Amazon) and wearing these fun geometric hoop earrings.

I don’t usually wear such large earrings, but I really like them with an outfit like this — where the top is too busy for a necklace. They draw attention up towards my face, and also compliment the geometric design in the top.

And I don’t know how I totally forgot a bracelet. I think this outfit could definitely use a cuff bracelet or a stack of bangles.

Outfit Details:

  1. Super cute outfit! I love everything about it. I am loving the boho look this spring as well. I have a few tops that I had packed away, but might have to bring them out now. I read your blog in the morning at work (Shhh), so am excited to see the changes you have been working on 🙂

  2. Love the blues on you:) and those wedges are great.  I really think  the metallic takes it up a notch .So glad to hear you’re on your way to recovery 😀

  3. I read your blog on my iPad. I find phone screens are just too small to really appreciate fashion or decor blogs. Looking forward to the new look!
I love this outfit! Why? I just bought a similar one this weekend. I never wear boho tops but this one complimented the light wash jeans. I like the big earrings with it so
I’m going to look for similar ones.
Happy to hear you’re feeling better. I hope you find a cause of this recurring vertigo though.

  4. Cute outfit! I ordered the jeans, the top, and the sandals. I love how the jeans look on you, but I’m more curvy and not sure they will be as flattering on my my thighs/hips. But I will give them a try — can always return!

  5. I love Lucky Brand tops!  Their prints and styles just draw me in. This one is no exception.  So cute!  I love the blues.  Most of my tops have come from Marshall’s or the outlet store when I’m on vacation, since we don’t have one nearby.  I did just order the Lucky Brand pink jeans from your 5 under $50.  I’ve never tried their jeans and for that price, I couldn’t resist!  So happy to hear you are feeling better.

  6. Love the top and Jeggings.  Looking ready for spring.

So thrilled to hear your vertigo is better…praying it’s gone.

Have a great day…in spite of a dentist visit. 😋😋😋

  7. Do the Vince Camuto sandals run true to size? I noticed that they come in a size 5 (my size) which is hard to find sometimes. Love the outfit! And I’m glad you’re feeling better. I so enjoy your blog!
    Thanks!

    1. I know I emailed you earlier, but for anyone following along, they do run true to size. I have my usual 8. Sometimes I can size down to 7.5 but these are definitely the right size in the 8.

  8. The jeggings do look comfortable & the top has pretty shades of blue in it.  While I’m glad the vertigo is better, PLEASE follow thru with everything the ENT suggests.  I saw an online story today about a woman that has been dealing with vertigo for a long time, that is very scary.  It was 32 this morning, but the sun is out and it’s in the 70’s now.  Rain and clouds move in tomorrow night through next Tuesday.  Have a fabulous rest of the day.

    1. Yes, I am following thru with the balance testing and then whatever else. I do need to figure out the cause, if we can. It seems to follow the same pattern each time, so at least that is somewhat predictable.

  9. What a great outfit, love your style! I also follow Kelly and have recently wondered what undertone and body shape do you tend towards? I am slowly understanding why some clothes work better that others!

    1. Hey Karen. I hope you’re enjoying Adore Your Wardrobe. I learned so much. I’m a cool, so the colors of this top are definitely right for me, but I’m a short waisted curvy, so this top would not fit into my “rules.” You can probably see from these pictures that this top makes me look a little top heavy. I look better in tops with more structure, but I like to feature a wider variety of styles for the blog than what fits my exact body type.

  10. Glad to hear you are slowly getting better. Wondering if you plan to reconvene your weekly Wednesday live sessions. I feel so selfish asking this question- here you are suffering with vertigo and I am wanting to see you. Please know I want you to heal and take all the time you need to do it. I’ve come to appreciate the life of a blogger.

  11. I like peasant tops a lot. I think they’re timeless, and good for any age. This one is really pretty, and looks great with jeans.
    I’m glad you’re feeling better!

  12. So glad you are feeling better! I LOVE THIS OUTFIT!! I love Lucky Brand and have several tops and a dress but have never tried their jeans. I have been debating on buy those exact sandals. I wasn’t sure if they looked too matronly but they are really cute on you. Can you tell me are they true to size? I was looking at the blush pink or the color you have. I love the Treasure & Bond Sanibel sandal but I’m afraid they might be too high for me. Those are the ones I really and truly want. Anyway, love your new layout and am so glad you are feeling better.

    1. Hey Lorrie, they’re TTS. I do think the T&B is more youthful and trendy, but I didn’t find them as comfortable as these. I had them last year. I would def size down half in those. Mine were too big.

  13. I may have already missed you talking about this, but could it be benign paroxysmal positional vertigo? I suffered with a few episodes of this many years ago but (knock on wood) haven’t had it lately. Seemed to possibly be related to allergies for me.

  14. I like this outfit. What size are you wearing in the jeans? I am considering ordering the jeans but have never worn this brand so don’t know how they run.

  15. Your hair looks great in these pics today. Not sure if you’re doing anything different but looks good.

  16. Hi, Jo-Lynne. I love this breezy, springy outfit on you, especially with those adorable wedges! I am so sorry to hear about your experience with vertigo. Have you ever heard about the connection between vertigo, the inner ear, balance, and the psoas muscle? This is often emphasized in yoga and I’m guessing you have heard of this link before, but wanted to mention it just in case it hadn’t come up in your experience. I personally found that when I started incorporating a yoga sequence that emphasized the stretching of the psoas and opening of the hips into my weekly routine, that issues I was having with my inner ear and balance went away almost immediately. This really surprised me – our bodies seem to be full of surprising interconnections. There’s a woman named Liz Koch who has done loads of work and research regarding the role of the psoas muscle in our health. Her website is a wealth of information. Here’s wishing you the best of health, and thank you for your consistently excellent and helpful content!
