Moto Style Utility Jacket #FashionFriday

Happy Friday, friends! One of the trends I’m really liking this spring is the feminine variations on a traditional spring utility jacket. The second I saw this moto-inspired roll sleeve utility jacket at Nordstrom, I knew it had to come home with me.

This lightweight olive jacket is perfect for transition season, and it also comes in a pretty shade of grey. I love an olive utility jacket paired with a grey tee and white jeans as seen here, but it would also be lovely with pink or coral.

In fact, I wore it with a blush pink tee, boyfriend jeans, and Converse on Wednesday. We were having an unseasonably warm day so I wasted no time putting this jacket to use!

Another great option for a feminine utility jacket is this flare sleeve utility jacket. It comes in olive as well as navy, and it’s another great little jacket for spring transition season.

These jeans are the Articles of Society Sarah skinnies, and if you’re looking for a classic pair of white skinny jeans that won’t break the bank, I recommend trying these. The material is a little stiff, but they’re not see-through at all, and the fit is really nice.

Since it’s still pretty much winter here, I wore my trusty taupe ankle boots, but as it gets more into springtime, I’ll swap them out for wedge sandals or open toe booties.

I kept my accessories simple with my go-to pearl earrings, silver link bracelet and a long pendant. This necklace has a thick chain and an antiqued finish, making it perfect for more casual outfits like this one. I found it at Nordstrom, but they’ve sold out so you can find it at Half United. These necklaces are handmade in the USA, and proceeds benefit needy children in Haiti.

The sunnies are Maui Jims, and they’re probably my favorites of all the styles I tried during my partnership with them last year. They’re discontinued but I found them at Smart Buy Glasses for 30% off!

This is such a great causal outfit for springtime that you can change up in a variety of ways. If you aren’t a fan of white jeans, switch it around and wear a white tee with blue jeans or black jeans or even blush. Boyfriend jeans would be cute with this took too.

This jacket would also be cute worn over a casual dress like this popular ruched tank dress in the black, grey, or coral.

  1. It seems Florida has decided to go from a few weeks of Winter straight into Summer! Ugh, normally I love to pull out my utility jacket but lately it’s been too warm. This is making me wish we’d have at least a few more cold snaps!

  2. We are just the opposite of Kellyann…we just got more snow last night, so I’m still pulling out the winter coats. It’s so hard when everyone else is talking spring, and I know we have at least 2 more months where snow will be part of the forecast!!

    1. Ugh. That’s way worse, in my opinion!!! It’s certainly possible to get snow here in March, but it’s not typical. We’re definitely in-between the weather extremes, which is pretty convenient for a fashion blogger. Still, I could happily do without the month of March. Haha!

  3. Oh, I don’t blame you one bit for picking up this jacket! Such a perfect layer for Spring with great details. I usually find olive jackets to be my most versatile color…maybe I could make room for one more like this in my closet this season. 🙂

  4. I need to take more risks with putting various colors and patterns together!  It’s not easy stepping out of our comfort zone, but it can be invigorating.  I have an olive green utility jacket that will be perfec5 for me to wear now, since I am hot natured, so I need to put it to good use.  Through tomorrow we will continue with spring like temps, then the rain & thunder, followed by highs in the 60’s returns.  Yay!  Have a fabulous Friday!

  5. Hi Jo-Lynne, I’m in the market for a good pair of white skinnies and might order the Articles of Society Sarah you’re featuring. My problem with so many light colored jeans is they show every lump and bump. Do you find these skinnies are thick enough to camouflage imperfections? Are they true to size and do they bag out?

    1. I hear ya. I feel like these are better than most at not showing all the lumps and bumps. They do stretch out some, though. They run TTS. If in doubt, size down. THey’re worth a try! With free returns, you don’t have anything to lose. I would say to wear them for an hour or two before taking off tags, just to be sure they don’t bag out too much for you.

  6. Come on spring! We’re ready for ya’! Love a great jacket like this one. I keep eyeing one I’ve seen with bell sleeves which is weird, because honestly I’m ready for those and cold shoulder and OTS to hit the road…LOL Oh well, a girl likes what a girl likes. Happy weekend!!! XO

  7. So envious of your nice weather. It is not spring like here at all. Very unusual weather for the Pacific Northwest.
That utility jacket is cute and quite different in it’s relaxed fit.

  8. What size do you have in the utility jacket?  I’m 5’3″ about 128lbs. and wondering if it would be too boxy and wide for me and my height?  Is the grey color true to the sight? I’d like a lighter grey, so wondering if you saw the grey in the store?
