Striped Bell Sleeve Sweater in Nashville

Hello and welcome back to 22 Days of Spring Fashion! This is an outfit I wore out to breakfast one morning when we were in Nashville a few weeks ago, and I think it’s so pretty and perfect for spring. I can see myself wearing this so many places once the weather warms up a bit.

Also, don’t forget that I moved my weekly Facebook Live chats to Tuesdays at 1PM EST, so I’m planning to be on this afternoon!

Be sure you’re following my Facebook Page so you get notified when I go live. If you can’t catch it live, I always post my live chats so you can watch it later.

As always, if you have any questions you’d like me to address (any topic is fair game!), feel free to email me or comment on this blog post. I like to have a list ready so I can keep things moving during the chat.

So back to today’s outfit…

This striped bell sleeve sweater immediately caught my eye when I saw it online. I love the color palette, and it pairs so perfectly with blue  jeans — which, as you know, I wear almost every day!

Yes, I know, another striped sweater… but this one is different than the others I have, and dressier. It will be nice for church or lunching with friends… that sort of thing.

For size reference, I took a small in this sweater. It is a tad boxy, but I feel like it follows the shape of my body and doesn’t sit in a boxy way on my frame.

I also like the length. I realize not everyone shares my SSR (sweet spot range) but I personally find this length very flattering. Also, aren’t the sleeves so fun? Best of all, this sweater is 40% off today!

I paired this sweater with my AG raw hem legging ankle jeans. These jeans are a couple years old, but they’re still one of my go-to pairs. The fit is fabulous and they never get baggy or stretch out.

They’re definitely spendy, but I bought them on sale and considering how often I wear them, they’ve definitely more than paid for themselves and still have a lot of life left in them.

You can also find these on Amazon, and some sizes are on sale. I also recommend checking out these BlankNYC raw hem skinnies if you’re looking for a similar style under $100.

I was really bummed to find these perforated peep-toe booties were discontinued. I got them last spring and wore them a ton, and they were still around at the beginning of this season, but then they suddenly went 40% off and promptly sold out. Boo to the hoo!

I did manage to round up some similar styles, and they’re linked below. This year shoe styles are trending more towards mules and slides, but I still like my peep-toe booties! That said, I can see something like this sandal with this outfit.

This bag is another purchase from last spring, and I’m happy to say it is still available! This year it comes in a really pretty bone grey color, as well as mint and black. There’s also a darker grey on sale on the KSNY website.

Finally, I accessorized with a double pendant necklace, pearl earrings, and a cuff bracelet. I also like how my pink gradient aviators with the matte gold frames work with this look.

  1. Beautiful sweater! LOFT has such great style. I also love those booties, sad they are sold out. A couple of years ago, I bought a pair of bootie-ish shoes from QVC that you had on your site, and I am going to try to make those work in my Spring capsule. Hopefully someday, if it EVER gets warm!!!

  2. As usual love the entire outfit. I’ll not be able to catch your FB live due to volunteer work today but will check later. I organized my closet yesterday & have LOTS of belts in different sizes & colors. Have not worn in years. Should I keep or get rid of? Thanks. You can answer on FB live if you like.

  3. Good morning!  Would you mind measuring the length of the sweater? It’s so cute and it looks to be in my SSR, too. Thanks and Happy Non-Snow Day to you!

  4. Too funny, I took this sweater out to wear today ☺️
I love it with jeans but today I’m wearing it with Loft grey cords that I bought last spring. I work in a casual environment but I try to limit wearing jeans to twice a week. I haven’t found any peep toe booties to wear this spring so thank you for linking a few good choices. I have been wearing a blush colored mule with this sweater but since I’m wearing grey, I’m going to wear my suede grey flats. It’s a little chilly in Texas today but nothing like what you guys are going through but perfect for this sweater!

  5. I love the sweater, but I am so ready for short sleeves! I noticed on on your wishlist you were looking for shorts, I just purchased these, and love them so much I got the longer length also! They feel like butter and the fit is very flattering, on me that is. 🙂

  6. I have a couple questions for Facebook Live : How does one figure put their sweet spot range for shirts?
How many years do you usually get out of a pair of jeans? Maybe this seems silly but I kind of like to figure out “price per wear” and it would help me to know how long an expensive pair of jeans would last.

    1. I just thought of another question. Is “Silver” considered a quality line of denim? I hear girls talking about how much they love their “Silver” jeans but I don’t know much about the brand.

  7. Hey Jo-Lynne, love the sweater! I’ve learned so much about style and shopping from you over the last couple of years. Maybe now I can give you something back! I saw you are looking at swimsuits – have you ever tried figleaves.com? It’s a UK based site, but they have a distribution center in Virginia, so you pay regular US shipping. They sell separates, usually with multiple top and bottom combinations, quality brands, and you can get them in bra cup sizes. And they have everything from super sexy to modest, and everything in between! I have had great luck with this site, just thought I’d pass on the info on the (unlikely) chance you didn’t already know about it. I am not affiliated with figleaves in any way, just sharing a go-to shopping site.

  8. What a pretty sweater this is!  I’m glad that your area was spared from the latest snow storm.  Maybe this will be it for winter.  Have an awesome day!

  9. I saw that sweater when it first came out and tried it on. It so cute and a really great weight. The sleeves are so pretty. I have a pair of BLANKNYC jeans that have moved to the head of the class. The AG’s don’t fit me very well which leaves me out of the AG rah-rah club😔. Glad you dodged the storm bullet. Come on spring!

  10. My question for Facebook live is “Are you seeing palazzo pants trending for Spring and do you own any?”

  11. Not a fan of this look. Too many horitonal lines. Colored jeans in beige or white may help. But this looks like wearing too many “in” looks even if they don’t work together.

  12. Awesome outfit. I love LOFT stuff- they have great patterns. Love your Anchor sweater on Instagram too. So Springy!

  13. I bought this sweater, and I’m excited about wearing it. It’s a little bit dressy, but not so much as to be impractical. I can see it going many different places. I also like that it’s available in petites. It’s very cute on you!

  14. Saw that sweater at Loft last week.  Questions: what do you do if you’re eating?  Do the sleeves drag in your plate?  What if you need to wear a jacket?  While I like the look of the sweater, that bell sleeve just seems too long to be practical.

    1. The sleeves are “bracelet length” which is shorter than full length and more practical. The material is soft and lightweight. The sleeves fold naturally and fit under a jacket easily.

    2. So yeah… it worked quite well b/c the sleeves aren’t full length. They really didn’t get in the way unless I was reaching across the table for something, which let’s face it, we don’t do often unless we are in charge of young kids. There was once or twice that I did hold my sleeve so I could reach for something – like the salt, I guess. But it wasn’t a big deal and didn’t get in the way. I didn’t put a coat over it, but I’m glad to hear that Ellen didn’t find it an issue. 🙂 I have longer bell sleeve tops that I just grab, fold over, and hold as I put my arm in my coat. I do that with any long-sleeve top (hold it, anyway, maybe not fold it over) and I’m just used to it.

  15. Love this look! Everything works so well together and makes such a soft, feminine color palette. Perfect for spring! I can tell the cut of that sweater is kind of boxy, but it’s surprisingly still very flattering on you. Love it all!

  16. I totally spaced out on Tuesday and missed the live chat. Another lovely spring outfit. The sweater looks great on you!
