The 3-Step Reset with Olay

I’m sure I’m not alone when I say I was a little, um, self-indulgent over the holidays. Okay, so maybe a lot. And while the holidays are now a distant memory, I’ve been in a bit of a holiday mindset ever since.

It’s tempting to want to keep those good vibes flowing, and with the cold weather we’ve had and all the snow days, it’s all too easy to give in to the desire to hibernate and continue those self-indulgent patterns we developed during the holidays.

Not only did I slack off on my exercise routine and my clean eating diet, but I also slacked off a bit on my skincare routine. I can see it and I can feel it. For one thing, my makeup hasn’t been going on as well. I’ve been noticing some flakiness during the day, and my skin’s texture isn’t as smooth as it is when I’m being diligent about my skincare routine.

Just in the nick of time, Olay invited me to partner with them for a 3-Step Reset to get my skin back into shape using 3 of my favorite Olay products:

  • Olay Daily Facials: This 5-in-1 cleansing cloth does so much more than clean
  • Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Moisturizer with SPF15: An advanced moisturizing formula for healthier-looking skin
  • Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel: This cooling, fast absorbing gel instantly hydrates and plumps the under-eye area

You may remember me sharing about the Olay Daily Facials last spring. These are so much more than makeup remover wipes; they actually remove makeup, cleanse, exfoliate, AND hydrate — all in one little cloth. By combining all of these products in one, it makes makeup removal super fast and easy.

In the past, I’ve only used makeup remover wipes as a last resort — when I’m up too late, overtired, or traveling. But Olay Daily Facials are different because they have a special texture that lifts away all the oil and makeup, and best of all, they don’t leave any residue.

These are seriously the first makeup remover wipes I’ve ever used that get my face truly clean. I’ve tested them by using toner afterwards, and there is no leftover makeup on the cotton ball like there is when I use other makeup remover wipes.

But the really cool thing about these Daily Facials cleansing cloths is they’re water-activated so you can throw a stack into a zip top baggie for travel and there’s no concern about them leaking, and they’re super lightweight too.

When you’re ready to wash your face, you just take one, unfold it, and wet it under warm running water. I like to rub it a bit in my hands to get it sudsy, and then I gently rub over my face as you normally would to remove your makeup. Then I rinse the cloth, ring it out, and use it to wipe off the remaining lather and makeup. And that’s IT.

After I cleanse my face, I’m using Olay Total Effects 7-in-1 Moisturizer with SPF15 every morning. I admit, I had become lax about this.

I was consistent during the 28-Day Challenge last fall, but during the holidays, I got out of the habit. There are some mornings I don’t even wash my face, to say nothing of use moisturizer — especially the days that I don’t wear makeup. I KNOW. It’s so bad for my skin. No wonder it’s been feeling dry and rough. But I’m getting back on the bandwagon with this 3-Step Reset.

The great thing about this moisturizer is it provides 7 skin benefits in one product to replenish moisture and immediately boost hydration for visibly healthier skin. So easy!

The third step in the 3-Step Reset is the Olay Eyes Deep Hydrating Eye Gel that I’ve shared about before. This eye gel both soothes and hydrates with a combination of witch hazel, vitamin B5, hyaluronic acid, and cucumber extract. I particularly like how quickly this eye gel absorbs, and the cooling formula feels so nice going on — especially in the morning when my eyes tend to be puffy.

Basically, Olay’s trio of powerhouse products makes it easier than ever to get your skin back into shape after a season of indulgence, and I’m all in.

Who wants to join me? These products can all be purchased at Olay.com.

If you do the 3-Step Reset with me, be sure to let me know how it goes!!!

  1. I use the wipes sometimes. I like them. I use R&F eye cream. The Olay 7 effects I have is 30 spf. Is it basically the same but just more spf?

  2. What would be better for facial cleansing is to invest in a Clarisonic Mia with a quality cleanser. If you read the ingredients in these wipes you are washing your face with a high concentration of petroleum, artificial fragrance and parrabens. Such formulations will prematurely age the skin……sorry the esthetician is coming out in me. Better yet, getting a facial will bring your skin back in balance.

      1. Janice, I have the same question as Nicole. I travel frequently and wipes are the most convenient type of cleaner. Can you recommend one or another?
        Thank you ~ Joanna

  3. Hi Jo-Lynne,
This question has to do with your Instagram pics you posted yesterday. There was a Treasure and Bond navy long sleeve tee you had on. I’m in love with it. How was the sizing on that? I’m planning on buying it. If you would like to put the link on here, I’d love for you to get credit for that. Have a great day!

  4. I  said I was going to try this last times you’ve posted about it and I never did. But I’m going to the store after work today and I’m going to start using it! I don’t wear make up but sometimes I am very lazy about moisturizing my face and at my age that doesn’t help!   ????  I’ll let you know how it goes!

By the way which frames did you choose 1, 2 or 3? I think my favorite was number three.

     Have a blessed day! ????

  5. I have been using the Olay Total Effects moisturizer for so many years that I don’t know how long it’s really been.  It is a crucial part of my morning routine, just like doing something with my bed head before anyone sees me.  I have not tried the facial wipes, but think I will give them a try.  Since the eye doctor told me to not wear any eye makeup, I best not use the eye oil.  It’s another dreary day here in GA, but I love the color paint I selected for the walls, and our contractor is finishing up the guest room today, so all is well.  And our big microwave is finally being replaced! Have a blessed day!

  6. Do you use a toner at all and if so which one? I’m religious about it most of the time b/c I’ve been told by skin experts that you should use a toner every day and night. Sounds like the Olay facial wipes tone as well.

  7. Good Morning Jo-Lynne! I will have to try those make up wipes. I’ve tried a couple of others and I didn’t like them very much. I do have a request. Can you do an outfit style with straight jeans? I think they are coming back in this spring? I like skinny jeans but that’s basically the only style I have except for one pair of boyfriend crop jeans. Would be fun to mix it up a little bit and I’ve been seeing so many pretty spring colors of denim in the stores here but they are straight leg. Cyndi showed them on one of her posts. Always look forward to your blog. Have a great day!

  8. Wow! I appreciate you so much. I need an affordable, convenient skin care regime and you just found it for me. Plus, once again, you were “real”. You bravely shared what many of us would never admit….sometimes we don’t wash our faces and take care of our skin…
Also, I really like that I can do this skin care routine from the comfort of home. I want something that works without me having to make an appointment.
    Have an awesome day!
    P.S. I am excited about tomorrow’s Facebook…. I have a few questions I just HAVE to ask ????

  9. Jo-Lynne,
Just wanted to let you know that the shade of pink you are wearing is definitely your color!! Absolutely beautiful. Brings out your hair and eyes and looks great with your skin tone. I have been using Olay for years and love it!

  10. Do you find the wipes remove waterproof mascara? I accidentally purchased waterproof mascara last week and it was pricey, so I hate to throw it away but am concerned with removing it. Thanks!

    1. It’s safe enough to use on your eyes, but I do find that I need an oily eye makeup remover to thoroughly get rid of all traces of eye makeup. I usually do that first, and then go over the eye area again with the wipe after I’ve rung it out, so it helps remove some of the oily residue from the eye makeup remover… if that makes sense.

  11. I am on board! I was thinking about how dry my skin was this morning and I have gotten out of the skin care routine as well. Today after work I am heading out to purchase your recommendations. Thanks so much. You seem to have beautiful skin ????
So glad that I am not the only one that doesn’t feel like doing a 10 step???? facial every night.
I can not wait to see what you have purchased to post for tomorrow.

  12. Oh, this weird! I just bought that face cream at Costco last night (pack of 2) and I already have the eye cream. I’m going to buy those wipes today and take your challenge. ????
I’m curious about the striped shirt on instagram. Will you be showing us that one on your blog soon?

  13. I thought the make-up wipes could be bought in the store.  When you shared them the first time, I thought I had checked and saw them but could be mistaken.  I think I didn’t get them because of an ingredient I think I couldn’t have.  Are they for sure only offered online?  They sound so great for traveling for sure.  Can you recommend an eye cream, not strong scent, to use on the eye lid to get rid of the crappy texture.  My eye make-up doesn’t look as good with the old skin showing through my eye shadow.

  14. I do like the Olay daily facials and use them both at home and for travel ( they are soooo convenient!) at night to wash and remove makeup. But, they do contain chemicals and parabens that I try to avoid and do in other areas. I switched sometime ago to aluminum free deodorant and use hair care products without sulfates etc. I also use a facial cleanser and moisturizer in the morning that are free and clear of chemicals but haven’t found anything like the Olay cleanser cloths to use at night. Maybe Olay will revamp these cloths to make them more natural and user friendly in the near future.

  15. I’ve been using these Olay facial cloths ever since you featured them last year. I use them on days when I’m not up for my regular routine. I just take one into the shower with me and use it there. I also especially love them for travel like you describe. No leakage in your bag and sometimes there aren’t enough washcloths in a hotel, and these can be used to wash and rinse. Perfect!

  16. I appreciate your comments, however I find it very overwhelming with all of the products out there to really know what to use. I have to agree that so many ingredients are not that great for the skin and you have to wonder what is really out there that actually works without being very expensive. I have been using Neutrogena cleanser with my Sonic Handheld and like how it works and makes my face feel. I am getting better at moisturizing, but again I would LOVE some recommendations if anyone has them. I would like to find and use products that have the proper ingredients to nourish your face and avoid the fillers that do damage (without letting you know). I did read a ton of information on some products and overall I think it comes to finding a great all natural ingredient cleanser, toner and moisturizer . If you hear of anything, please share it. As we age, the harsh chemicals that are in the over the counter products can do more harm than good. I am not sure if anyone has every heard of or used B-I-O essentials by Kay Casperson. I loved all of her products,. They are great, but on the pricey side. Again, there is a lot out there and just overwhelming (for me anyway). Thanks Jo-Lynne!!

  17. I tried the facial cloths after you featured awhile back, and I loved everything about them other than they were a little more drying on my skin than I would’ve liked. I decided to try a Clinique set that included an enormous jar of my favorite moisturizer, but the cleanser made me break out terribly and it is even more drying. Plus, I realized how spoiled I’d gotten with the cloths getting most of my eye makeup off. The fact that they do not irritate my eyes is my favorite thing about them. I usually only need a very small amount of eye makeup remover, and I can completely skip the makeup remover wipes altogether. I’m definitely switching back to them!

  18. Hi Jo-Lynne!   I have a question regarding your sweater in the post today.  I L💕VE the pink color!!!!   What size are you wearing and where does it hit on you standing up?   I’m borderline petite in LOFT so not sure if I need regular or petite.   I have the red sweater from LOFT and it hits longer on me, but I still love it!
    Thank you!  Amy

  19. Last year you reviewed the Olay Regenerist cream. I have been using that and really like it. How does the moisturizer that you are using now compare to the Regenerist?
