Things I’ve Worn That Are On Sale

Black Friday may be over, but the sales rage on. Most will stay constant through the weekend, and we may even see some get a little bit better on Monday, but sizes are getting depleted quickly, so I wouldn’t wait on anything you really care about. Today I rounded up things I’ve worn that are on sale, and I’ve found a few really amazing prices I want to call out too.

It’s also Small Business Saturday today, so if you’re able, get out there and shop local! I’ll be in the car driving home from Virginia, so that won’t be happening here, but remember that when you shop from your favorite bloggers, you’re supporting small business owners too.

  1. So many sales…so little time!  You have done an amazing job with your sale coverage.  Wishing you safe travels today.

  2. JoLynne,
Just letting you know I’ll be praying for your family’s safety today.  I live in the frozen tundra of Minnesota.  I really relate to your little “weather reports” you give on your blog.  We both live in areas where weather can at times hugely impact our lives.  I dread winter and do not enjoy the sometimes harrowing drives that inevitably happen each winter.  Good thing it’s all in the very capable hands of our Father. Love your blog!

  3. Wow, Jo-Lynne! Thank you for your hard work putting this post together. I especially love the velvet dot tee and the cranberry sweater dress. You always do such a great job. Thanks for helping us fight the frump! 😉

  4. I live in Alberta, Canada and Black Friday sales are a newer idea here with the savings usually not as spectacular. Our sales are greater on December 26th (what we refer to as Boxing Day). Nonetheless I appreciate your dedication and effort that you put into your blog.

I live rural and our winter weather can be brutal. Freezing rain, fog and blowing snow can be the undesirable conditions we sometimes deal with. I am praying for safe travels for you and your family. Take care. ❤.

  5. Thank you for putting this together! In your daily email you mentioned purchasing cashmere sweaters from Bloomingdales and highlighted the Aqua and C by Bloomingdales brands. Can you tell me what size you ordered? The reviews weren’t very helpful. I’m 5’3” and around 125. I like my clothes to fit and not be too loose. I can’t figure out if I should get a S or XS. Thank you and I hope you have a safe drive home!

    1. In the past, i have found them to run on the smaller side. I actually ordered both sizes of each today because returns are free and I wanted to be able to compare. I had a v-neck in the small last year, and it was fine but fairly form fitting and I didn’t wear it much. I have a turtleneck in the medium and it’s a little roomy but not baggy. I feel more comfortable in the turtleneck so my gut says to go with your larger size if you don’t want it to be form fitting.

  6. Praying for a safe trip home today!  Thanks for all your hard work on the sales tips the last few days.  I didn’t leave the house yesterday, but I did find some good bargains online!  Looks like there are more to be had the rest of the weekend.  😊

  7. Thanks for the info on the Bloomingdale’s cashmere! My plan to buy the cashmere v-neck from JCrew was busted when I realized that the 50% off code didn’t apply to their cashmere. Bummer. Last night I ordered two different versions of the Halogen cashmere that’s on sale and just now I ordered a v-neck and a cardigan from the Aqua brand. I’m going to compare them all and just keep two at most. I’m excited to try the Aqua brand since I already have a couple of Halogen cashmere sweaters. They are decent quality for the price but I’m always just a bit disappointed in their softness.

Safe travels! I hope the light traffic holds for you all the way home.

  8. Prayers as you travel back home. Rain, windy, busy roads are scary. Soon you will be home safe and sound. Thanks for all the sakes updates and fashion advice.

  9. It’s 6:00 PM MST where I live so hopefully you all home safe and sound! Thanks for all the work you did for us over the holiday. I’m nearly finished with my Christmas shopping which is awesome but now I’ll have a whole month tempting me to buy more! 🤑

  10. I hope your drive home wasn’t too bad. I didn’t buy a thing today…was hoping to make it to Loft but we didn’t go that way. I was given a hard time during my last return so I need to try on in store before buying, so annoying!

I did order that Tommy Bahama pullover you shared on FB yesterday, what a great deal. Hoping my husband likes it 🙂

    1. I often order at Loft online because I prefer petite sizing, and the stores don’t carry as much petite merchandise. Online ordering results in some returns; it’s a fact of life. I want to do business with retailers that make the return process a pleasant one.

I’m sorry you had that experience at Loft. You could let their corporate office know by email. Good customer service matters; it’s an important part of the retail transaction. Staff that’s friendly and helpful really does make a difference.

    2. The rain was constant, but the traffic wasn’t nearly as bad as it can be on a holiday weekend. I think leaving yesterday helped. Today would have been a lot worse. And we’re home safely, so that’s all that matters! 🙂 That pullover is such a steal. I can’t wait to see it when it comes in.
