Three Outfits featuring Kuhfs by Amy Olson

kuhfs facebook

Last spring I introduced you to Kuhfs by Amy Olson — a fun fashion accessory for women. I styled the River North Kuhf into three different outfits to showcase how versatile Kuhfs are. You can see that post here, Kuhfs: A New Women’s Fashion Accessory.

This is such a fun and economical way to add a new pair of pants to your wardrobe. Kuhfs come in a variety of colors and patterns, and you simply attach them to your boots, jeans, yoga pants, or capris to instantly change up an outfit.

A few weeks ago, Amy reached out to me to see if I’d like to work together again, and I was thrilled to try some of her new patterns! This time I’m styling three different patterns of Kuhfs — Amazon, Baja, and Smooth Sailing.

First up is the Amazon Kuhf, a subtle animal print in neutral tones. To keep the look summery, I attached these to my white jeans and then added a simple black dolman sleeve top and beige strappy sandals. A layered necklace is all I needed to complete the look.

This next outfit features the Baja Kuhf. I think this is my favorite Kuhf pattern and my favorite outfit of the three! I was immediately drawn to this vibrant and colorful butterfly print, and the white lace top is the perfect compliment to it. I wore light-wash jeans to keep the outfit from being too fussy and added the red bag to pull from the red in the Kuhf. It was hard to narrow down my pictures. We took a ton because the background was so cool.

And finally this is the Smooth Sailing design, Amy’s newest Kuhf design. This nautical themed Kuhf is the perfect preppy accessory for summer. I first tried it on white jeans and a navy top, but it was so much contrast that I switched and put it on a pair of dark jeans with a white blouse. I like this more subtle take on the Kuhf.

As you can see, Kuhfs are a great way to change up an outfit, and they are super easy to attach. You just create about a 3-inch cuff with the hem of your jeans, then wrap the Kuhf around the bottom and attach with the pin. They’re adjustable, so they fit almost everyone.

Kuhfs are priced from $32-38, and there’s a $5 flat rate for shipping, so it definitely pays to order a few pair at a time. I’m thinking that they’d be a great Mother’s Day gift! Be sure to check out the Kuhfs website. There are tons more patterns to choose from!

  1. The Kuhfs look great. I gave them to daughters at Christmas. I was thinking at the time, oh great one more accessory for busy Mom’s but you’ve made me rethink. Plus I love the concept of the company

  2. I vote for the nautical look as I like ANYTHING that reminds me of the beach! And I’m loving that lace top, it fits you to a t!

  3. I can think of a couple ways these would be perfect. One…if you’re traveling (thus limited with amount of clothing) and your jeans have the frayed hem—then you could put this on to make the jeans less casual!
I know you said you have to cuff your jeans—does that means you can use the Kuhfs to make your pants longer? Because if you could pin them without much cuffing—you could make your cropped pants or ankle pants longer?
You look great in these examples Jo-Lynne! That mother of pearl cuff you’re wearing in the second set of pictures is stunning!!

ps…I realize your life does not revolve around me, but I thought I’d let you know I won’t be around for your link up this friday—I’m at my biannual knitting retreat!!!
    pps….hope you’re enjoying California!!

    1. Hi Jodie,
I thought I would jump in here to answer your question. Yes, you can use Kuhfs to make your pants longer by an inch or so. You just need to make sure you are grabbing enough of the pant hem with the slidepin to keep the Kuhfs in place. Also, great ideas on how to use Kuhfs! Please reach out to me if you have any other questions. [email protected] Thanks for your input!

  4. Can you post a link to the necklace you have on (the small bar necklace) in the smooth sailing pictures? I enjoy your blog and read every post but hardly ever comment. You inspire me with ideas since I am very challenged in the fashion sense. I wear scrubs to work and spend millions of hours watching my boys play baseball but I do enjoy a chance to ‘look cute’ every now and then. I’ve been horrible at fashion so your blog has been a life saver and I’ve been able to purchase a few quality shoes and clothes from your links. I’m starting to see that quality is better even though it is more pricey than I’ve ever been used to spending. I figure I’m 40+ and I need to start taking better care of myself. Thanks for all the help and inspiration!

  5. Jo-Lynne!! I am loving all three of these looks. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job showcasing Kuhfs. Your style is spot on Kuhfs girl. You are a pleasure to work with. I hope your audience falls in love with Kuhfs too. Have a wonderful day.

  6. The Kuhfs are adorable! I wish I could wear them but cuffs make my legs look stumpy unless they are thin since I’m a shorty. ;( I was JUST looking at those the nude sandals in the top pictures last night on line for a post coming out next week! They look fantastic on you. I’m thinking of buying them….LOL!! Nice profile picture update. Don’t you love the jean vest?!? How often do you update your picture?

    1. I love those sandals but they are HIGH. Hard to walk in but soooo cute. I do love the jean vest but I find I haven’t worn it much. Maybe when it gets warmer to stay. I change up my profile picture when the spirit moves, or when I get a picture I especially like, lol. I was trying to wait and update till my next redesign, but I got impatient and the old picture had a snowy background and it was depressing me. Ha!

  7. Question – I’m assuming they are attached to the pant in some way but was wondering if they slip down or off? Any issues with that? Especially if you’re going to be doing a lot of walking – like shopping or something like that.

I’ll DEFINITELY check out the website! What a cute cute way to change the look of pants.

  8. I am so grateful you showed us some outfit ideas using Kuhfs. I bought two pair last year after your initial post, but I have yet to wear them. But I’m going to use your ideas and model some of my own outfits after yours 😉 Also, good call on the gift idea! Thanks.

  9. My fave Kuhfs are the anchors – too cute! I also love your blue bar necklace! May I ask where it came from?
