Top 10 Blog Posts of 2017

One of my favorite posts to write every year is my top 10 blog posts. I always find it interesting to delve into my analytics and see what the most popular posts were. It’s helpful as I plan my content for the next year, but I also like to share with you so you can see what resonates most with other readers.

There is definitely a pattern here. My wardrobe essentials posts and outfit roundups are the clear winners, and my guides for specific wardrobe pieces are right up there.

So without further ado, I give you, my top 10 posts of 2017!

Top 10 Blog Posts of 2017

#10. 2017 Fall Wardrobe Essentials // This post is one I write every year, and it’s always popular. It’s definitely still relevant, especially if you live in warmer climates, but the winter one is also on this list as well.

#9. 17 Outfits to Recreate This Fall // These posts are always popular on the blog, and they also do well on Pinterest. Even though they’re “fall outfits,” most are appropriate for winter as well. I try to balance posting new outfits featuring new clothes with roundups like this that help you shop your closet and come up with new combinations that don’t require shopping.

#8. 2017 Swimsuit Guide for Women Over 40 // I was happy to see this post in the top 10. I’ll definitely update it for 2018 when we get closer to summertime.

#7. Your 2017 Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale // Not surprisingly, this post was quite a hit!

#6. 2017 Fall Boot Guide // Because who doesn’t love fall boots!?!?

#5. 27 Spring Outfits for 2017 // I thought it was interesting that the spring outfits post was more popular than the fall. I always think of fall as the most popular season. I really did enjoy the spring series this year, though. What made it particularly fun was that I shot some of these outfit in different locations with different photographers.

#4. 10 Easy Ways to Fight the Frump // This popular post set off a whole series of Fight the Frump posts. I hope to continue with those in 2018.

#3. 2018 Winter Wardrobe Essentials // This post is worth another look if you’re shopping the post-holiday sales to round out your winter wardrobe.

#2. 2017 Spring Wardrobe Essentials // Again, surprisingly spring was more popular than winter or fall! It will be interesting to see how these change, if at all, as we move into 2018!

and finally, drumroll please . . .

#1. How To Purge Your Closet and Love Your Wardrobe Again // This is a good one to re-read right now, as we’re heading into another new year, and many of us are probably feeling the desire to purge and simplify. I did this process to my closet one day last week, and it feels so good to have everything simplified and organized again! Also, if you’ve been waiting to sign up for the next Adore Your Wardrobe e-Course, registration for the next session opens TODAY!!!

  1. Yes, I really liked this post.  I will be using it as a reference in the coming days.  I am so glad that you will continue with Fight the Frump posts this year.  As we age, our body changes in ways we don’t necessarily like, and we move into retirement, it’s so easy to let our attire go.  While I know I shouldn’t do that, I do.  But with your prodding and encouragement, I am making positive changes.  Happy 2018!

  2. Love this.  I am late to the party, but I did buy the lipstick you recommended last year (Nars) as a good nude, along with the Stila lip glass. I am looking forward to trying them!  Also, splurged and used my gift cards for Kendra Scott earrings and long necklace rose gold.

  3. Off topic question, Is the Halogen cashmere v neck sweater you posted on Instagram for your family get together true to size?  I want to get it on sale, but cannot decide on the correct size.  I’m usually xs/2

Thank you & Happy New Year!

  4. Happy New Years!  We were the couch and PJs type as well, watching movies 🙂  Thank you for your hard work with all of the posts you listed above and others- these were definitely some of my faves.  I read Marie Kondo’s book about a month ago and WOW.  I was skeptical when I first heard about it early last year but then I saw your post and eventually got around to buying and reading it.  It is truly a game changer for me.  It is really in essence a psychology book and boy does she hit the nail on the head for me!  So thank you so much for featuring it because I’m not sure I would have read it if I didn’t see it on your blog.  I hope you and your family have a beautiful, happy and prosperous 2018!

  5. Thank you so much for the Top 10 blog posts.  I spent the morning in my pj’s with my coffee and blanket reviewing all the good info you shared with us this year. It’s unusualy cold in Texas so my plan is to work on my closet…so thanks for the inspiration. I already committed to not buying any new clothes for the next 30 days and trying to wear some of the items I already have so, we’ll see how that goes. ????
Looking forward to more great posts in 2018!

    1. I am hoping to do the same 30 day no clothing purchases. My wardrobe has expanded so much last year that I need to use what I have for now and save for springwear. I know I will need to update a few things by then.

      1. Me too! My closet is full and I know I’m not wearing it all. Such a waste! So, I plan to not even enter a store nor shop online, regardless of great sales. My goal is to wear every item of clothing in my closet over the next couple of months and either love them or donate.
        Happy New Year Everyone!

    2. Me too!  I have things with tags still on them!????. I just boxed up several items to return to Nordstrom.  I need to use/wear what I already have.????

  6. Several of these posts were some of my favorites this year!

I can’t wait to see what 2018 has in store for your blog.

  7. This is a great blog! I enjoy all! Wondering if you can help me. I have 2 courderouy straight long skirts by XCVI that I don’t know how to wear. What do I wear for a top?

    Thank you!

  8. What a fun post. I think the spring wardrobe posts were more popular than the fall because spring is more difficult to dress for. I read Marie Kondo’s book about 2 years ago, but plan to use your post as a speed read to go through my closet sometime in January.
