Top Ten in July

Greetings and cheers to Friday! 🥂 My #FashionFriday linkup is back this week, and I’m sharing my Top Ten in July! These are ten most popular posts and products from the month of July.

TOP 10 POSTS IN JULY 2019

Based on Google Analytics, these are my top 10 posts in the month of July. I’m listing these in typical Top Ten order, with the month’s most popular post last.

#10. 5 Must-Have Shoes for Fall #NSale // You’ll see quite the #NSale theme with my popular posts last month. #shocker

I’m glad to see this post ranked, as I worked really hard on it! Not that I don’t work hard on all my posts, but this one took a while. Plus you know how I love fall shoes. 😍

#9. My Daily Looks // I often get asked, “What do you REALLY wear?”

Well, this post is basically a roundup of what I really wore during the 2nd half of June and into the beginning of July. Tomorrow, I’m planning a post with what I wore the rest of the month, so stay tuned for that!

What To Pack for a Maine Summer Vacation

#8. What to Pack: Maine Summer Vacation // While this post is specifically about my Maine vacation, but it applies to any cool climate in the summertime.

#7. 5 Ways to Wear a Denim Skirt // I’m going to try to do more 5 Ways posts in August. They’re always popular, and it’s a great way to recycle some of my older content.

I’m open for suggestions, but keep the topics general. It needs to be something I’ve already styled a couple of ways so I can find examples in my archives.

18 Ways to Wear White Jeans for Summer

#6. 18 Ways to Wear White Jeans // This post was popular last year, so I updated and republished it.

There are a lot of good ideas in here if you’re looking for summer style inspiration and new ways to shop your closet.

#5. 5 Favorites {Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Edition} // In this post, I rounded up my top 5 favorite items from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale across 9 categories. Let me know if you’d like to see more of this type of post.

Spend vs Save Nordstrom Anniversary Sale #NSale 2019

#4. Spend vs. Save: Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Edition // Spend vs. Save posts are always popular, and this one was fun to put together. I tried to find items that were still fairly well-stocked.

#3. Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Preview // It’s fun to look back at my #NSale Preview, now that I’ve seen everything in the sale and know more about how it all looks and feels.

I ended up purchasing quite a few items that caught my eye in the preview, how about you?

#2. 2019 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try-On Haul // You guys love a try-on haul, that’s for sure, and this one was a biggie.

#1. 2019 Guide to the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale // It’s no surprise that this post was my most popular, but it actually got 2x as many views as the try-on haul that came in #2. That’s kind of mind-boggling.

I hope you all had fun shopping the #NSale with me this year. I wasn’t able to do as much with it as I wanted to, as I was away on vacation during some of the prime shopping days, but that’s life.

There are just a few days left — prices go back up on August 5th! I’m starting to see more restocks as returns are getting processed, so keep checking back if you missed out on something you wanted. Again, the best time to check seems to be early in the mornings.

Okay, moving on to popular products…

TOP 10 PRODUCTS IN JULY 2019

Based on my ShopStyle analytics, these were the 10 most popular products across my blog and social channels during the month of July.

#10. LOFT Twist Hem Tee // This is such a cute, wearable tee for summer. It pairs well with everything from shorts to jeans, skirts to pants.

This top comes in white as well as this hot pink, and it runs TTS; I’m wearing the small, for reference. Also wearing Gap mid-rise 5″ denim shorts.

#9. Nordstrom Lingerie Moonlight Short Pajamas // I don’t have a picture wearing these pajamas, but they’re really soft and comfortable.

If you’re looking for an even lower priced option, Target has a pair that looks identical for $21, and word on the street says they’re really good.

#8. Daily Ritual Women’s Jersey Muscle Swing Dress // This dress is a rare Amazon Fashion win for me.

I’m always impressed by their Daily Ritual brand, and while the swing dress isn’t usually my favorite silhouette, I really like the fit of this one. The material is substantial, has good shape retention, and it isn’t see-through at all. I’m wearing a small, for reference.

#7. Vince Camuto Kimora Cutout Shield Sandals // These shoes were the ones I was most excited about from the #NSale preview catalog, and I was not disappointed. I really like that I can start wearing them now and continue wearing them into fall.

They run a little big; I sized down to a 7 1/2. Also wearing Frame Le High Straight Slit Hem Ankle Jeans.

#6. Halogen Textured Faux Fur Coat // This coat is SO cute, and it feels really nice for faux fur. I think it will be a great option for dressing up jeans this fall and winter. It’s TTS; I have the small.

#5. Jeffrey Campbell Rowlan Snakeskin Embossed Booties // These are one of my favorite purchases from the #NSale. They’re super comfortable, gorgeous leather with leather lining, and the snake print is on trend this fall.

I sized up to a 8 1/2 in these. Also wearing Frame Le Skinny Chew Hem Ankle Jeans.

#4. Chelsea28 Cowl Neck Sweater // This sweater was sold out almost from day 1. I think every blogger I follow featured it.

I swear, there is nothing nefarious going on here. I think we all just saw it for what it is — one of the best pieces rom the #NSale. It’s soft, cozy, on trend, and affordable. It was also in the preview catalog and available in-store on the Icon pre-shop day, so we all noticed it and were able to get our hands on it right away.

At any rate, watch for restocks if you want it. It’s TTS; I have the small.

#3. Walmart V-Neck Tank Dress with Twisted Tie // I’m so glad so many of you liked this dress; I was very impressed when I tried it on.

I like it best of all the Walmart items I’ve styled over the past few month. It’s flattering and runs TTS; I have the small.

#2. Eileen Fisher Bateau Neck Cap Sleeve Dress // This dress was a pleasant surprise. I love the details and the quality, but size down; I’m wearing the XS.

#1. AG Prima Ankle Skinny Jeans // It is rare for an item as pricey as these to make my top product of the month! I’m so glad that so many of you scored a pair, and I hope you like them as much as I do.

While these jeans are a “skinny”, they have a “cigarette leg” so they’re cut a little straighter from the knee down. Cuffed, they read more like a crop straight, which is a style that’s trending at the moment but can be tricky to wear. These jeans are a nice compromise.

I hope that was fun! I always like to look back at the previous month and see what resonated (and what didn’t.)

Let me know if you scored any of these pieces and how they worked out for you.

  1. It’s funny that your shoes post was one of the most popular, but I’m not surprised. When I did my survey of reader’s interests, they didn’t really pick shoes, but when I look at sales, people buy a lot of shoes, ha.

  2. Just want to let you know that you do a great job blogging.  You work so hard to give us sooooo much information and you are soooooo good about answering our questions and helping when we need it. I know many bloggers don’t answer back and it doesn’t seem the same. I don’t know how you have the time to answer back, but its great.  I look forward to FALL and all it has in the fashion world. Its so fun to follow you.  I went to Nordstrom yesterday and there is like nothing left in the store worth buying from the NSALE. It looked like Fall clearance time or something. I wish they would have stocked more to continue the sales in the store longer until Aug. 5th.

  3. I second what Kathy said! I really appreciate the great effort you put into your blog. Your try-on sessions must be exhausting. The way you always reply to all the comments and questions in a timely way is amazing and so kind. It also makes your blog more personal. A few months back you promptly replied to a question I had about the dress I’d chosen for my son’s wedding rehearsal (it was almost identical to one you’d styled). Your encouraging response gave me a boost of courage and I’m very grateful to you. Blessings from Canada.

  4. Hey Jolynne,
I didn’t receive your email today. Just letting you know. Sometimes if I don’t see it I search you. Just to let you know. Aww missed out on that fuzzy short coat..Ya snooze ya loose. Have a good day.

  5. Great post!  It was fun to see the top 10’s in the two categories.  I hope y’all have a great time with the extended family!

  6. What do you wear under the black Daily Ritual swing dress? I like the dress but need to smooth things out underneath. 😉
