Top Ten in November 2020

At the beginning of a new month, I like to take a look back at the previous month’s stats and see what products and posts were the most popular, so today I’m sharing my Top Ten in November!

Top 10 Posts in November 2020

Based on Google Analytics, these were the 10 most popular blog posts that I published during the month of November… with one exception, which I’ll explain below.

These posts are listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

#10. Luxe Holiday Gifts for the Fashionista

There were two fall/winter outfits in this post, and I rounded up some luxe gift ideas at the end. It’s still relevant, so if you missed it, definitely click through and check it out!

#9. What We Wore for Fall Family Pictures

Spoiler Alert: If you’re on my Christmas card list, you’ll be getting one of these pictures to hang on your fridge!

#8. What I Wore Lately Vol. 33

Always a popular feature, this is one of two What I Wore Lately posts that ranked in the top ten last month.

#7. 2020 Outerwear Guide

2020 Fall/Winter Outerwear Guide

I worked really hard on this post, so I’m glad to see it ranked. I usually do a Fall Jacket post as well as a Winter Coat guide, and this year I decided to combine them all into one. I’d love to know which you prefer, for next year.

#6. A Cool Layered Look for Fall

Every piece in this outfit is under $100, and I really like how it came together.

#5. Try On Haul: Mostly Denim, Sweaters, and A Few Cute Holiday Tops!

I think I only did this one try-on haul in November, but as usual, it ranked pretty high in my top ten. This was just a couple weeks ago so still worth checking out, if you missed it.

#4. What I Wore Lately Vol. 32

Another What I Wore Lately, for your casual everyday outfit inspiration!

#3. Apple Cider Mojitos

Apple Cider Mojito Recipe: The best FALL COCKTAIL, so delicious. The cinnamon-infused simple syrup is the secret!

And this is the one exception I mentioned — this post was published years ago, but it got featured in a recipe roundup somewhere on the Web, and got a lot of traffic last month.

I thought I’d include it here because it’s SO GOOD, and if you love a sweet cocktail, you should definitely make this. It’s more of an early fall drink, but I certainly wouldn’t turn one down in December.

#2. 2020 Black Friday/Cyber Monday Shopping Guide

So happy this post ranked high because it was a ton of work, and I tried to keep it updated for the entire week of Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. I hope it was helpful to many of you!

#1. 20 Casual Fall Outfit Ideas for 2020

20 CASUAL FALL OUTFIT IDEAS FOR 2020

I actually published this post on October 31, so I guess there are actually two exceptions to the posts published in November statement.

It didn’t rank very high in the October Top Ten, but sometimes it takes a few days for posts to get found by the search engines, or regular readers get caught up on blog reading over the weekends, so I felt like it deserved to be included in this post since it was the most popular post in November.

Also, it’s still quite relevant, so if you need fall outfit ideas, check it out!

Okay, moving on to popular products…

Top 10 Selling Products in November 2020

These were the 10 most popular products across my blog and social channels last month. They’re listed in typical Top Ten order, with the most popular one last.

You will definitely see a theme here. It looks like we are all about the cozy, comfort items right now!!!

#10. Talbots Tech Fleece Leggings

I get lots of questions about leggings to wear for walking/hiking in the winter, and these tech fleece leggings from Talbots are amazing. They’re very thick and warm, but they look nice enough for street wear too. (They aren’t just workout leggings.)

They have a comfortable high rise, and they don’t sag throughout the day. These leggings run TTS, and they come in regular, petite, plus, and plus petite sizes. They’re also 40% off today!

#9. Zella Cali Fleece Hooded Sweatshirt

This sweatshirt is soooo cozy and soft inside, and the sleeves are nice and long. The hood is a bit cumbersome, but it’s not heavy, so it doesn’t bother me too much.

I wear this a lot around the house with my Zella joggers (see #5) but it’s also cute with leggings, if you don’t mind that it doesn’t cover the assets. I like it a lot with these printed leggings. It’s TTS; I have the small.

#8. Zella Furry Fleece Funnel Neck Pullover

Another Zella pullover… I told you, last month was all about the cozy, comfort items! This one is fuzzy wuzzy soft… ohmygoodness, so cozy.

The color way I’m wearing is low inventory, but it comes in a trendy camo as well as lots of solids. It’s also TTS; I have the small.

#7. Daily Ritual Terry Hooded Pullover

This is an Amazon find, and it has a very soft fleecy lining that makes it cozy even though it’s kind of thin. It’s also pretty flattering for a tunic style top, as it has some shape through the waist and a curved hemline.

Best of all, it’s long enough to wear with leggings. It’s TTS; I have the small.

#6. Dodow Sleep Aid Device

This was from one of my holiday gift guides. It’s supposed to help you sleep better, and judging from the popularity, I guess a lot of you are in need of better sleep!

#5. Zella Live In Pocket Joggers

These are the joggers I referenced above. Maybe I should just call November the month of Zella! While none of the Zella items in this post are on sale, they’re all very reasonably priced, and these joggers are no different.

They’re comparable to the popular Vuori joggers, which I also have and love, but they’re a fraction of the price. I wear both often, and they both wash up well without shrinking or fading or pilling.

Size-wise, the Zella joggers are inch longer, and they run TTS; whereas I sized up to a medium in the Vuori.

#4. OLEBR 3 in 1 Charging Stand Compatible with iWatch

Another gift guide item, this charges your iPhone, Apple Airpods, and Apple Watch.

This is on MY Christmas wish list… along with an Apple Watch. I hope my husband… I mean Santa is reading this post!

#3. Nordstrom Signature V-Neck Cashmere Sweater

This sweater was an #NSale purchase, and it went on sale again during Black Friday week. It’s very luxe and high quality, and I love the relaxed fit.

In fact, I like it so much that I ended up picking up the olive on Black Friday…

There are still a few of this color left in the smaller sizes. It’s not as green as I had hoped… in fact, it reads almost as a grey, but I kept it anyway. I wore it yesterday, in fact!

#2. Express High Waisted Luxe Comfort Knit Black Skinny Jeans

These jeans go right along with the cozy/comfort items in this list. They’re actually a knit material, but they look and fit like denim, and they hold their shape just about as well as any premium denim I have. Very flattering and comfortable. Highly recommend.

They run TTS (wearing the 6) and they come in regular, short, petite, and long sizes. (I have no idea what the difference is between short and petite.) Also, they’re 25% off right now.

And the winner is… DRUMROLL PLEASE!!! 🥁

#1. Halogen V-Neck Cashmere Sweater

Finally, by far and away, the most popular item last month was this Halogen brand cashmere v-neck. You guys, this sweater generated well over 2x as many orders as the jeans in the #2 position this month!

I’m always blown away when something sells like that. And truly, it is so good.

Most colors are gone now, but it’s still 40% off, and I have to say, that black and white stripe is pretty tempting. I think that would be so chic with black jeans and boots.

It runs TTS, but it’s cut generously, so if you wanted to try to size down, you probably could.

And that’s a wrap! I always like to ask, which posts from November were your favorites, and did you score any of these Top Ten products?

Also, I’m open to hearing what you guys are looking for during the month of December. I’ve got some holiday looks in the works, and I’m also working on more holiday gift guides.

I’ve got one coming up with stocking stuffers for the whole family… including the pets! I hope to get that up this weekend sometime, so stay tuned for that. And I want to do one on under $50 gift ideas as well. Anything else you’d like to see? Let me know!

  1. Hope this makes you smile: I have referred back to your Fall Outfits to Copy post about one million times since you posted it to help me plan some on point styles for the few events I had to attend!  Also the Cyber Monday guide was so useful! Aaaand after seeing your family photo I decided we would do the same and I told everyone just “wear whatever “ and it turned out GREAT!  I probably wouldn’t have done one since I felt like we had to do the coordinating outfit thing!  Thanks for all the great fashion/life tips!

    1. It does make me smile. All of it, but esp the family picture! I love family pictures, and I hate to think of people not doing them b/c of the Pinterest pressure to be perfectly coordinated. I envy those families who can pull that off, but we are too plain and lazy for all that, lol!

  2. Lots of great deals! I am excited to try the Amazon shirt. I need something comfy yet nicer than sweats. Do you have a foam back roller? I like to use mine and roll on it when I feel tense. It is a great help too for when I can’t get in to the chiropractor. With all the pain you have been experiencing I’m sure there is some muscle tightness too. Just a thought!

    1. I have a harder ribbed roller (not the right term, not sure how to describe) that I use on my thighs and glutes, but a foam roller would be better for the back. My foot doc (who I saw today for a routine followup) suggested a tennis ball. I am definitely tight.

  3. Alright, alright, you finally convinced me to get the striped Halogen cashmere sweater and the olive Nordstrom sweater. Hopefully they’ll fit well and not be too long and baggy, that’s my pet peeve about sweater style nowadays, lol. I did have a question about the Zella joggers: Is the waist very high? Some of the reviewers thought so. The website says 11″ which is very high to me (I’m short waisted) and that’s what I love about the Vuori joggers – they don’t puff over my stomach and make me look poochy. 🙂

    1. LOL, let me know if you like them! Both do run a tad big, so size down if in between.

RE: the joggers, I just wear them down where I want them, but yeah, the Vuori are a tad shorter and slimmer, and not quite as high in the waist. Probably why I would choose them over the Zella, if I had to pick a favorite. But they look and feel very similar.

  4. I picked up the Express knit jeans, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that unlike almost EVERY other jean I try, they didn’t gap out in the back! I’m super excited to wear these the next time I get dressed up for something, which at this rate should be mid-2021! 😉 Kidding, kidding. Thanks for all the great guidance, and PS – I really appreciated the booties with socks post. I live in the frozen tundra too and just cannot handle cold ankles, but never quite knew how to wear the socks. I go bare-ankled when I can, but I feel better not guessing on socks when I can’t! My gratitude. (P.P.S. – A fashion blog should kinda be a slave to fashion, but I don’t think you are like that at all… I think you present reasonable options when ‘the fashion’ isn’t practical for the average gal. Keep up the good work and ignore the naysayers. <3)

    1. Thank you, you know very few things people say really irk me, but being called a slave to fashion is one of them.

And then, on the other hand, this IS a fashion blog… if anyone is a slave to fashion in the most literal sense, I am! 😂

  5. I bought two of the Halogen cashmere sweaters—one of the black with white stripes and one in the darker gray. Thanks to you, I probably have a dozen cashmere sweaters now.
As far as I can tell, the difference between short and petite seems to be this:  in short, the leg length is shorter. In petite, it’s the length, rise, and proportions. I seem to fit better when short is offered, because my proportions are mostly normal and I am short waisted. I know?!  It’s hard to make sense of it. I always check the length of anything first. That seems to be my best bet.

  6. I think I wrote down all the jeans outfits in the 20 fall outfit post to try out, it’s stuck to my bathroom mirror! No joggers for girls with short chubby legs (yikes!)

    1. I don’t know, I don’t usually pay close attention, but usually a post gets far more views the day it is posted than any other day afterwards. Only a few that take off on Google or Pinterest usually show very high in my stats after the first day.

  7. Once again I’m sitting in my hunting box as I comment on this post.  It’s always interesting to see how your posts rank.  I finally ordered the Express stretchy black jeans and am hoping they fit my shape.  I’m glad the chiropractor made you feel better!  Hopefully you will not digress before your next appointment on Monday.  I hope you have had a great day!

  8. I read your blog and IG every day and I am always struck with the amount of info you give us. I feel bad because I don’t comment a lot due to my busy schedule but I can’t let another post go by without telling you, you’re the Bomb ( if that is still a saying 😊) , you take blog posting  to another level. Thank you for over the top effort!! Merry Christmas! Stay healthy and safe.

  9. Thank you for all you do! I bought the black and white stripe Halogen cashmere sweater along the one you featured. I think the black and white will be nice and a classic for years!

  10. I need help with styling a pair of black velvet wide-leg pants for the holidays. Are they in style and how would you wear them?

    1. Typically wide leg pants look best with a fitted top, or something tucked in. They’re in style, but they don’t flatter me personally so I never wear them. I would look for a pretty blouse or cropped sweater.

Maybe search Pinterest for inspiration. I found this, but I wouldn’t want my belly showing: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/21884748172571140/

A top like this could work, maybe a satiny material, I wouldn’t do two velvet pieces: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/282460207868432286/

      Here’s a blouse tucked in: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/154740937186128046/

Here’s a pic with a chunky sweater front tucked, but I’d say that’s a hard look to pull off: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/844493667092204/
