LOFT Double V-Neck Maxi Dress

Spring Fashion for Women Over 40: LOFT Double V-Neck Maxi Dress with a White Denim Jacket

LOFT went and did it to me again. I found a great dress to share with you, and before I get around to posting, it’s gone to Final Sale. At least they seem to have all sizes available at the moment.

This jersey material on this Double V-Neck Maxi Dress is SO super soft, I can’t even tell you. It’s quite comfortable and easy to move around in. I love the diamond pattern and the double V neckline. I feared it would be too low in the back, but as you can see, it’s okay. It dips to just above my bra strap.

Fashion Over 40: This LOFT Double V-Neck Maxi Dress is a steal at $36!!!

I wore stone colored block heel sandals from Payless to add some extra height and to keep my skirt off the ground. For size reference, I’m wearing a medium in the dress, and I’m 5’5″.

Because it’s been so chilly here, and to add an extra element of interest, I topped it off with a white jean jacket by Kut from the Kloth.

I’m loving this denim jacket. It has a nice shape through the waist area, and it’s very lightweight so it won’t be too hot in warmer weather. It’s the perfect weight for spring and summer. LOFT has one too that is a bit cheaper ($59) and if you’re wanting to get your order to $125 for free shipping, that will help.

This Double V-Neck Maxi Dress is perfect under a white denim jacket for spring.

I think this dress would be particularly flattering on someone with a straighter body type because it tends to create curves, and I already have plenty. Ha! I typically prefer a straighter skirt, but because this material is so soft and flowy, it works okay.

After trying a few necklace options, I added my Stella & Dot layered Tiburon Necklace. I know the details are hard to see against the pattern of the dress, but all the shorter necklaces I tried didn’t seem quite right. I think because I’m short-waisted and the dress has an empire waist, I need the length of a longer necklace to create the illusion of a longer upper body. In fact, now that I think about it, this is probably why I generally prefer long necklaces.

If you’re looking for a flattering maxi dress that is easy to wear and not too bare (why do so many seem to have spaghetti straps or halter tops???) you really can’t go wrong with this one for $35. It is a final sale, but it runs true to size and it comes in petite and regular sizes.

This LOFT Double V-Neck Maxi Dress is the perfect summer maxi dress!

  1. The dress looks so pretty on you!!
I just ordered it for my sons 8th grade graduation ????

  2. Great jean jacket. I like the mix of texture in the outfit created by the heavier denim and light, smooth cotton of the dress. I recently “discovered” Kut from the Kloth and am loving their jeans. The jeans run large, though. How’s the fit of the jacket?

  3. Pretty dress! You look beautiful, and I love it with the white jacket, and the shoes. Your necklace is perfect with this dress.

  4. Really nice pictures! The dress looks like it was made for you & I like the versatility of it, with or without a jacket. I checked it out in petite, since I’m 5’4″, but they are out of the XL. This dress looked like something I could wear with my curvy figure, but 2 of the reviews mentioned that the fabric is very clingy & and shows all those lumps and bumps! Which I seem to have a bumper crop of! Great info as usual!

    1. Really? I didn’t find it that clingy although it did seem to ride up just a bit in the back – you can see it in the back view. I wish I’d yanked my skirt down, lol.

  5. I still only have one maxi dress in my closet—I keep thinking they’ll go out of style soon, but that’s silly!!
I really like this silhouette on you Jo-Lynne—maybe because it’s different than what you normally wear? I actually think I like it better without the jacket?
I know what you mean about the spaghetti straps….I’m constantly looking for ones that I can wear my normal bra with—ugh..so practical!
I like this length too—sometimes the maxis are so long, I can’t see the person’s shoes (and being a shoe girl—that kills me!!)

  6. Just wanted to let you know that the link for the charcoal maxi takes you to the floral one. I’m not even sure that is something you can change? I always enjoy reading your posts and shopping off your links. Thanks!

  7. This dress looks great on you. I am 5′ so I would have to cut off miles of material. Love the maxi dresses and skirts. The Jean jacket looks very nice with the dress.

  8. Love this dress! I have a maxi I got from Loft recently and they really are so soft. I also have one n a similar print to this from StitchFix that I can’t wait to wear this summer. I’m so happy maxis continue to be in style!

  9. I love this dress on you… very pretty. I really like the jean jacket as well. Loft is my favorite store! Have a Great Day!

  10. Jo-Lynne, I’d just like to say the dress looks much better on you than it does on the Loft website model. 🙂
I wouldn’t have even given it a second glance if the website was all I had to go on. Thanks for another great review.

  11. Dress looks much prettier on you than on the site! Just for size comparison- what size are you wearing?

    1. They had 40% off all sale items, and that is how it came down to $36. It looks like that sale has ended. They run sales on their sale merchandise often. I think if you wait a couple of days, you’ll find it goes on sale again. Right now all sizes appear to be in stock so you should still be able to get it.
