Weekend In Pictures

Friday night was our church’s annual Ladies Christmas Tea.  Here is a picture of the Mistress of Ceremonies doin’ her thang.

Yep, that’s me!

We had tons of great food, an interesting speaker, and then the always hilarious White Elephant gift exchange.  Did I mention tons of great food?

On Saturday we got up bright and early to go hunt down our Christmas tree.  It was FR-E-E-E-E-E-E-ZING, but we had fun.

The baby was a real trooper.  She tromped though the trees and didn’t even want to be carried.

We finally found The Tree.

We shared the outing with our long-time friends.  The kids had a blast.  As did our husbands.  (That’s Husband pretending to saw his friend’s head off.  Dorks.)

On Saturday night my in-laws took us out for dinner at a local inn.  I feasted on filet mignon and mashed potatoes and a really smooth
Cabernet.  Service was impeccable.  That is, if you appreciate having
your water glass refilled every time you take a sip.  I’m not kidding.
It got to the point that it was downright comical, and by the end of the night my mother-in-law and I were giggling every
time they came by to top off our glasses.

Sunday morning we woke up to a light dusting of snow.  How festive!

In the afternoon we put the ornaments on the tree.  I had a lot of help.

Sometimes TOO much help.

The weather was windy and icy outside, but inside it was warm and cozy by the fireplace.

While we worked on the tree, we listed to the new Michael W. Smith Christmas CD that came in the mail on Friday — It’s A Wonderful Christmas.  See the link in the sidebar for more information.  You can listen to a sampling on the website.  The first track is my favorite.

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

My girls sang in our church’s Christmas musical, so I was at church all weekend. 4 performances!!! We’re all tired!

    Merry Christmas!

  2. What a fun time, and sweet pictures! The ladies tea looked really fun, too. And the snow! How picture-perfect!

Thanks for your comment today on my blog, too. 😉

  3. You and Hubby look like a Power Couple! Great picture, in fact all of them are. What nice memories you are making with your children! Your house looks so festive! We are in the midst of a huge snow storm and it is so pretty. Now if I could get my trees decorated it would really look Christmasy. T and D are here with me today so we have been out in the snow, gotten all wet, came in and changed into dry clothes and now T wants to go out again! :0)

  4. I love seeing your photos! The only Christmas decorating I’ve done so far is my blog. (pathetic!)We really need to get the show on the road!! My 3 year old keeps asking for the ChrisChris tree.;-)

  5. your weekend sounds exactly like a Christmas season weekend should sound! Your tree is beautiful and your tea sounds amazing… I truly wish we had a good church now, this is the best time of season for fellowship!

  6. Looks like a lot of fun! So what’dya get at the white elephant gift exchange?

Your family day of tree finding sounds great! I don’t think there are tree farms around here for that purpose. I know you can get permits in certain places to go to in the mountains though.

  7. Wow! Your house is gorgeous! I like how the snow is dusted everywhere but your perfectly green lawn. All my house is dusted with is dried up old leaves! Blech! I love your haircut!

  8. Beautiful pictures. You are so elegant, and your family is darling.
