Weekend Sales + AYW Registration Is Open! #COFFEETALK

Good morning from soggy Pennsylvania! We’re getting some rain from what’s left of Harvey, but thankfully it’s nothing serious. We’re hoping it’s going to taper off before our Labor Day cookout tonight. I’m still thinking of you guys in Texas. If you’re down that way, check in and let us know how you’re doing.

I usually do a newsy life update on Sundays and keep the shop-talk to a minimum, but yesterday I put together a list of Labor Day weekend sales I want to share with you because it’s a good time to pick up summer pieces for next year at a deep discount, and you can find some good deals on fall styles as well.

I also added some Shop pages to my menu bar that I’m hoping you’ll find helpful. I’ve had my general Shop page for a while, and I try to keep it current with seasonal styles that I recommend so I just updated that for fall. And I also started one dedicated to Nordstrom and another one for Loft since those seem to be the two most popular retailers on my site. You can access them at any time through the Shop tab on my menu bar.

So first I’m going to list a roundup of sales, and then I have an exciting announcement from Adore Your Wardrobe!

Adore Your Wardrobe Registration Opens TODAY!

That’s right, registration for Adore Your Wardrobe is open once again!

September registration begins on 9/3 (that’s today!) and ends on 9/12. Classes start on 9/13.

If you’ve been waffling on whether or not to take this course, this is a GREAT time to do it. The kids are back in school, you (theoretically) have a little extra time on your hands to focus on YOU, and you will be DONE with the class before the holidays… perfect for timing to look amazing at the next family gathering!

Here are a couple of things that you should know.

First, this is the last registration period for 2018. Yep, this is the last time Adore Your Wardrobe will open up registration in 2017 so if you don’t do it now, you won’t have another chance until after the holidays.

This is also the last time the course price will be $149.00. Prices will go up in 2018 when they launch the new (and improved) website, so definitely take advantage of this pricing while you still can.

I’m sure some of you are sitting there thinking, What the heck is Adore Your Wardrobe?

Fair question. Adore Your Wardrobe is the brainchild of Kelly Snyder, my friend and fellow blogger over at Redefined Mom. It’s a 30-day video eCourse that teaches the science and math, formulas and rules behind creating an amazing looking silhouette on your individual body. It will transform the way you think about clothes and how you put outfits together. It definitely did for me!

Some people think that because I have a fashion blog, it all comes naturally to me. Ha! Nothing could be further from the truth. The reason I put so much detail into my posts and explaining how I put my outfits together is because I am figuring it out as I go and over-thinking it every step of the way. Yes, I’ve gotten better at it over the years, but only through much trial and error. Taking Kelly’s course two years ago was a huge breakthrough for me.

I did not even KNOW my own body type. All my life I thought I was an apple because I tend to carry any extra weight in my middle, but I am actually more of an hourglass — the opposite of what I thought I was! Kelly’s course taught me that in the very first lesson, and from there on out, everything in the course was geared towards learning to dress my individual body type.

Don’t believe me? Look back at my outfits pictures from 3 and 4 years ago… YIKES!!!

I’ve always loved fashion and loved to shop, but learning how to best dress my unique body has made such a huge difference in how I get dressed every day and how I put outfits together for the blog, and I have Adore Your Wardrobe to thank for that. That’s not to say that I always do it perfectly, but I have come a long way!

With Adore Your Wardrobe, not only do you get access to the video series, but if you choose the Designer Level, you also get personalized attention from Kelly and her team through a private Facebook Group. That makes all the difference, and I highly recommend taking advantage of that. Sometimes it’s intimidating and there’s some tough love that has to be dished out at times, but it’s so worth it.

If you want to see one of the classes to get an idea how they work and what Kelly’s teaching style is like, you can view Lesson #6: Rule of Four by clicking on THIS LINK and then click GET FREE EPISODE INSTANTLY under the video.

I’m happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments, and a lot of people here have taken the course already so I’m sure they will chime in as well.

I hope you all have a restful and blessed Sunday!

  1. Hi! Your new website is great-looks very modern. However, on my computer screen there is a bar for email, twitter, facebook, etc … that covers up the left edge of the post. It makes it a little difficult to read. I’m not sure if anyone else has a problem with that-just though I would ask. Have a great weekend!

      1. I have the same thing (Internet Explorer). Jana, if you just scroll over the bar, a little arrow appears at the bottom. Just click on that, and the bar will be hidden. Hope that helps.

        1. Ohhhh, you guys are talking about the sharing buttons. I was thinking you meant the menu bar at the top and I couldn’t figure out how that could hide the side of a post. I’d love to see a screenshot if anyone has one. I wonder if your monitor is small? Is there no white space beside the posts? For me, that bar is way out on the left, hanging out in the white space. It can be removed if it’s a pain.

  2. Thanks for the heads up on the sales!  I’ve got a question for you.  That orange cowl neck sleeveless sweater you had on Instagram…how can I get my hands on that little beauty?  I believe it was from Loft outlet.  Thanks so much!

  3. I don’t remember the post with the silk cashmere sweater from BR?? I’d love to see how you styled it I purchased one and LOVE it. Super light weight and soft and the fit is so nice without being too boxy.

    1. I just had it on with jeans for one of those try-on sessions. I didn’t really style it. I will wear it with jeans and boots or ballet flats, but it’s also something you could pair with a pencil skirt or dress pants. It will look good under a blazer too.

  4. Your new website layout is lovely, very modern. This is off topic, but I’ve been following your blog for years and have a question. I was just invited to an adults only event st my daughter’s new high school. There will be h’orduerves and wine/beer. It is social, not a fundraiser. The invitation says “dressy casual” attire. Do you know what this means? Any advice is greatly appreciated! You are the only one I could think to ask!

    1. Hey Suzy. Yikes, I hate that kind of dress code, lol. I think it really means anything goes except sweatpants or a cocktail dress. I’d wear jeans (shocker! LOL!) with a cute top or sweater and ankle boots or maybe pumps to give it a slightly dressier vibe. You could do a printed blouse and a blazer with jeans too. A casual dress would be fine too, if you prefer.

  5. Checking in from Texas. You are so kind to continue to have us in your thoughts. We’re far enough north to the point where we just got some rain from the storm so lucked out. Now I’m watching Irma and hoping it stays away from Florida and the East Coast.

  6. Love the new look of the website, Jo-Lynne! Very clean and crisp. I also love the sweater in the ‘labor day sale’ graphic! Did you pull that from one of the sale sites? If so, I’d love to know which one. Thanks!
