What I Wore Lately Vol. 27

Good morning, and happy Saturday! It’s a gloomy one here, but it’s kind of nice, in a way. We need the rain, and it’s a comforting sound when you don’t have anywhere to go.

I just brewed my 2nd cup of coffee, and I’m finally sitting down to put this post together, so it’s going up a little later than usual.

Today I’m sharing my daily outfits from the last week, and don’t miss my Athleta Fall Favorites post that also went up this morning.

SIZING NOTES: I’m 5’5″ and 135 pounds-ish, with a slight hourglass shape. Unless I say otherwise, I’m wearing a 6/28 in pants/jeans, a small in tops, a 6 in dresses/jumpsuits, and size 8 shoe.

What I Wore Lately

This first look is from last Saturday, when Paul and I took R into Philadelphia for a day of sightseeing. We left early to get to Independence Hall as soon as it opened, and it was fuh-reezing!

I wore a cashmere sweater with a leather jacket and jeans, and I was still uncomfortably cold until about noon. That said, it was fun to finally break out a few of my Nordstrom Anni Sale purchases that I hadn’t worn yet!

cashmere v-neck (size S) // hooded moto (sold out; options here and here) // AG Farrah skinnies (similar for less) // Vince Blair slip-ons (there are more sizes in this year’s version) // Lagos necklace and earrings // Gucci sunnies (similar for less) // Gucci crossbody (option / option)

The next day was Sunday, of course, and this is what I wore to church. It was still rather chilly, but promised to be a bit warmer than Saturday.

You can’t go wrong with a column of black and a bold jacket, but unfortunately, this color has sold out. Because it was a plain outfit, I added a layer necklace.

My one caveat — I’m not crazy about these mules with this. I should have thrown on some pumps. Our church is very casual, so I was trying to keep it from being too much, but I’m afraid these shoes detract from this outfit. They’re too masculine or something. If I wanted to wear flats, a pointed toe ballet flat would have been a better choice.

Also, my Tory Burch tote is on sale in the Grey Heron and Devon Sand, and the pebbled leather version is on sale in the black. I actually think I like the pebbled leather version better than mine — it’s a little more practical for everyday use.

Later that afternoon, I visited with a friend over a glass of wine, so I changed into a t-shirt and jeans. It obviously warmed up, as I’m wearing short sleeves and sandals.

My camo tee is sold out, but there are some good substitutes at Banana, Splendid, and Athleta. And I really like this v-neck version from Lucky Brand — particularly the grey multi.

I’m clearly on a camo kick lately… I wore this outfit to a dentist appointment and to work from home on Monday.

Sanctuary is running a 30% off sitewide sale with code FRIENDS30, so this camo pullover is 30% off today!

Also, the camo cardi I styled earlier this month is still stocked in a few sizes, and here’s a longer version some of you might like. And the Alma linen tee is included. My Dusk color is almost sold out, but I love the Fatique for fall too.

I just picked up this bag from Everlane, and I think it’s so cool. True confessions: I returned the Coach courier bag from the #NSale. I really tried to love it, but it was just so bulky.

While I typically carry a crossbody these days, I wanted something in between that and a big tote, and this is perfect. I like how it’s understated and chic and a little bit different.

It has a wide bottom that’s substantial enough to hold its shape, but it isn’t stiff either. It has some give to it, unlike the Coach bag, so it’s more comfortable to carry and less bulky.

That brings us to Tuesday, and I had my last PT appointment for a while (I hope!) I dressed up my Lululemon joggers with a tie dye tee and denim jacket.

FYI, I have a medium in this tee, and the joggers are a 6.

Aaaand, it’s back to camo, LOL! This time, I wore this tee with skinnies. I was mostly at home on Wednesday, but I did wear this to the chiropractor.

He has really helped my neck, so I don’t think I’ll need many more visits. Without PT and chiro visits, I don’t know what I’ll do with all my free time!

And the next day, I had a facial appointment, so I didn’t bother to put on makeup. I like to let my skin breathe after a facial and absorb all the products they used.

Caslon tee (restocked!!) // rag & bone Dre slim boyfriend jeans (size down) // Tory Burch Emmy sandals // similar earrings // Maui Jim Mele sunglasses

Yesterday was my father-in-law’s memorial service, so I wore this simple black dress and black pumps.

This dress is 60% off right now, and it is made so well. The lining is sewn in perfectly, and it has such nice seaming for a flattering fit. Highly recommend if you need a classic LBD to add to your closet.

There was a short graveside service afterwards, and we were walking on grass so I was glad I wore a chunky heel. Plus, it was a long day, with lunch afterwards, and my feet held up great in these shoes.

I’ve had them since last winter, and at first they were a bit stiff, but now that they’re broken in, I’m able to wear them comfortably all day.

I added some gold jewelry — all fairly delicate pieces that I hoped would enhance the look, not overpower it. This is not a time for statement jewelry.

And I brought this cardigan along because I was afraid I’d be chilly, but I didn’t need it. I don’t love how it looks with this dress — it makes me look about 10 pounds heavier, but it would have worked in a pinch.

Ann Taylor The Scoop Neck Dress (60% off with LOOKGOOD)  // Marc Fisher Zala Pumps (also at Nordstrom) // Kendra Scott earrings and necklace // Stella & Dot bracelet // LOFT cardigan ($19.88 + extra 50% off with FALLFAVE)

And that’s a wrap! I’ll be going back to posting these posts on Wednesdays in October, once 22 Days of Fall Fashion is over, and my Try-On Hauls will return to Saturdays.

I do have a few new try-ons to share, but I haven’t uploaded those pictures yet, and I’m already late publishing this post, so I’ll hold onto them till next week unless I find something on a really good sale.

In that case, I’ll share in my Facebook Group. I often share previews of my Try-On Hauls and other fun finds in the FB group, plus sale alerts and restocks, and things like that. If you’re not already a member, we’d love to have you!!! Just be sure to answer the membership questions and agree to the group rules before requesting to join.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
