What I Wore Lately Vol. 12

Happy hump day, friends. It’s that time again! Every other week on Wednesdays, I share what I’ve been wearing, and today’s the day.

I’m still at home a lot, but I’ve had a few reasons to be out and about over the past couple of weeks, and I decided to dress up on Mother’s Day just because. So once again, it’s all pretty casual, but I have a mix of looks to share with you.

For size reference, I’m 5’5″ and 135 pounds, and I typically wear a small in tops, 28 in jeans, a 6 or 8 in dresses, and a size 8 shoe. I will give sizing notes, but if you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments.

MY DAILY LOOKS: WHAT I WORE LATELY

I wore this first look to see my doctor for a followup about my hip labral tear, and I stopped at the Starbucks drive-through on my way home.

These are hands-down, the softest, most comfortable sweatpants in the world. The material is like butter, and there is nowhere that they bind or ride up or bag or sag… absolute perfection!

I love how the P448 sneakers keep this basic outfit formula modern and fun. They’re also very comfortable, but spendy. This Steve Madden pair is a nice leather alternative, and this pair from Amazon is a similar style for less.

This next look was just a long day at home. This pranayama wrap is the cardigan counterpart to the Lou & Grey sweatpants… which I’m obviously wearing again. #noshame It’s the ultimate in softness, and it has such a nice drape.

This was from the weekend before last when it warmed up a bit. I spent a lot of the day on the deck, trying to soak up some vitamin D.

Just pay no nevermind to that bruise on my leg… that’s the result of me tripping over the puppy’s crate one of the first nights we had him. #klutz

These Citizens jean shorts are a few years old. I just tried them on to see if they’d fit, and I was so happy to find that they are actually a bit roomy now! IF for the win! Unfortunately, they are suuuper low rise and very short, so I won’t wear them much. But it’s fun that they fit.

Another nice day… I love this Everlane tee. So cute and flattering, and it feels nice on. It’s more of a stretchy, body-con fit, so I sized up to a medium.

I like the fit of these Gap shorts much better than the ones above; unfortunately they’re selling out and don’t seem to be restocking.

Also, these sandals are one of my favorites from this season, and they’re 30% off. They are VERY comfortable, and the studded detail is on trend right now.

And then it got cold again…

This was a chilly, rainy day, and I recall running out to pick up a script at CVS. This cardigan is cozy on chilly days, but the light colors keep it looking springy.

I wore this to my PT consult last week. I wanted to be able to do any exercises or movements she needed me to do, so I put together a few of my favorite pieces of athlesiure/workout gear.

This Athleta tee is a TENCEL Modal blend, and it’s as soft and luxe as the pranayama wrap. I really like the cut of the neck and arms, and the hi-lo hem provides coverage without looking too voluminous. It comes in tons of colors, and it also comes in petite, tall, and plus sizes.

I fixed myself up to do some try-ons last Friday, and then I ended up wearing this old sweatshirt with my new Paige crops for the rest of the day.

I’m so frustrated because these were 25% off plus an extra 10% off at Bloomies yesterday, but they’re back up to full price today.

I guess I didn’t get a picture on Saturday; it was cold and rainy, and I just wore leggings and a sweatshirt all day.

Then on Sunday, I decided to dress for Mother’s Day in something I would wear if we were going out for brunch. These are those new Levi’s I discovered in last week’s try-on haul, as well as one of the tops I also shared that day.

And I finally decided to keep the Vince sandals in the black. I have a lot of shades of nude and beige, but not many black.

I wore this Lou & Grey matching set on Monday. It was cold, but I was able to sit out in the sun for a little while in the middle of the day.

I really like these sneakers with the all black outfit.

And this was yesterday. Even though I had to change into joggers to go to PT later in the day, I wanted to dress in real clothes for a while.

Unfortunately, my ringer tee is sold out and I haven’t seen much like it to recommend.

I just love the hem on these jeans… 25% off plus 10% off that!

  1. Thanks for sharing ways we can feel cozy and still look nice, Jo-Lynne. I put the black sweatsuit AND a white sweatshirt in my cart. I don’t know how often I’ll get to wear it as it’s supposed to be 80 degrees in Delaware on Friday! But they’ll be great for fall, too.
Question: Do you/how do you think fashion will change as a result of these months of isolation. Are we going to emerge from our homes continuing with our cozy trend or do you think we will want to dress up because it’s been so long?

  2. Question about the sweatpants from Loft – Since they have 48% acrylic, in your opinion are they to warm for the warm months?  Since they are 40% off, and I do enjoy wearing sweats, I am thinking about adding them to my closet.  They do look so nice on you!  Oh how nice it would be if someone made studded sandals with arch support.  The heat is starting to crank up here and they are saying the 90’s will be here for good.  YUCK!  Have a great day!

  3. Do the Loft joggers also have elastic in the waist or only the drawstring? If there is elastic, is it sufficient to keep them up or is the drawstring needed as well? I usually take those out or cut them off-just a personal preference. Thanks!

  4. Hi Jo-Lynne. What size do you order in the Loft gray scoop neck tank that you’re wearing? Thanks!

  5. It’s always fun to see these kinds of posts! Thanks for sharing them! Between Covid and the weather we’re going to need to Staycation inspiration this summer! I have a question. I browsed Nordstrom’s shoe sale and they have some great deals right now. I noticed an over abundance of snake & animal print on sale from boots to sandals and heels to sneakers. Do you think so many of these prints are on sale because they’re trending out? I like some of the animal prints but I for one will be happy to see the snake print slither away! LOL

  6. If I’m 5’3” 120lbs would I take XS in the Lou and Grey sweat pants? I like the way yours fit. Not too baggy. It takes soooo long to receive LOFT orders I hate to wait and get the wrong size. Now to decide color. 🙂 lol. Thanks for your blog. Really enjoy it all the time but a lot more during this quarantine.

  7. PS  Just read the reviews on the Loft Lou and Grey sweatpants.  So many complained about the fuzz that is left all over the house and their body etc. and even after multiple washings.  Have you had this problem? One person said they don’t, so that is strange.  Also many said they pill?  Not sure I want to order now for the price.  They sure look great.

  8. Your daily looks are really starting to reflect my daily looks.. and all are weather dependent … it was nice to dress up for Mother’s Day… that has been the 4 th occasion to dress up nice since our stay at home orders… My daughter said “well Father’s Day is next“  lol… I really enjoy the warmer days when I reach for shorts instead of joggers or leggings. The weather should start to improve tomorrow. It’s been sunny but a little cooler it’s time to get our garden in this weekend:) Still waiting for Phase one in moving forward but ok to take things slow. Hope you’re getting relief from your hip pain.

  9. I just wanted to comment/mention that the LOFT Lou & Grey “sweatpants” aren’t really sweatpants.  They are more of a very thin knit pant.  I thought  they were almost like a pajama pant material.  I ordered both the top and pants but sent both back.  The sweatshirt was more sweatshirt material (soft, cozy and fleecy inside) but ran big so was too big on me.  The pants weren’t what I was looking for.  I was thinking more of a very light sweatpant – almost like the top but as a pant.

  10. Good luck with your appointment. A close friend of mine had such a significant tear in both the right and left labral, it required surgery for both sides. The surgeon said this was the worse case they have ever seen! My poor friend was unable to drive a car for more than 15 minutes, sleep was also difficult. Sitting through a movie, impossible. They worked physical job for at least 2 decades.   How they went to work every day in constant  horrible pain, is truly suffering.  They could  barely walk to stairs to go to their apartment.  The arthroscopy surgery repaired the rear on May 7 and the brace already was reset to increase range of motion,  in 4 weeks the orthopedic  is fixing the Left side.  In CT, doctors told them it was just hip dysplasia, and vericosd veins. I will pray for you that yours can be treated in a more holistic manner!
