What I Wore: Lunch with the Girls

Today I’m sharing an outfit I wore out to lunch with girlfriends the Friday before Christmas. This outfit is great for date nights, girls nights, lunch dates, whatever occasion might take you out and about.

This is my Lush tunic with black jeans (similar) and grey wedge booties. I just love these ankle boots. I can’t get over how comfortable they are for such a high heel. They’re currently on sale for $157 at Marmi Shoes, down from $225!!

Date Night Outfit Idea: Lush Tunic with Black Jeans and Grey Ankle Boots

The Lush Tunic is still on sale for $25, and it comes in 6 colors. This is such a great staple piece. It’s long enough to wear untucked over leggings (seen here) or tucked in with jeans. I have another one in white, and I’m kind of jonesing for the olive green, but since I’m downsizing my wardrobe, I’m forcing myself to resist the temptation.

I accessorized with silver and carried my black Moto Hobo.

The day I wore this outfit, it was quite mild so all I needed over top was a leather jacket. When it’s colder, I wear my heavy puffer coat because the blouse is thin and doesn’t do much to keep me warm.

What are you up to on this fine Saturday? I’m hoping to get a run in, and then I want to keep making headway on our home organization project.

I just finished reading The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing by Marie Kondo. Yesterday we went through my 13-year-old daughter’s room, and today I hope to tackle my 10-year-old’s room. My son is in pretty good shape. He doesn’t generate much clutter.

We also need to take down our second Christmas tree. I hate to do it. It’s so pretty in the early mornings when I come downstairs in the dark and make my first cup of coffee, but we never keep our tree up past New Year’s Day, and I know it will feel good to have my house back.

Enjoy your Saturday!!

  1. Great outfit! What size is your tunic? I sized up when I ordered but now rethinking size. (It’s on back order and hasn’t shipped yet.) I’m looking forward to your wardrobe capsule.
    Happy New Year!

  2. Great outfit. I love having our Christmas tree up, but by the evening of the 25th, I was itching to take it down. That was partly just because I had a long to-do list, and that was a tangible thing to get done. I couldn’t do that to my kids, though, and it stayed up until New Year’s Eve.

    1. We took the live tree down on the 26th, thinking we were leaving for Maine the next day. I’m so glad we left the artificial one up. I’ve been enjoying it, but it must come down TODAY. 🙂

  3. I really love this more casual version with this tunic. That was seriously one of my favorite purchases of the year! I’m definitely having to resist buying the olive too, it would be so cute with those black jeans! Speaking of, that’s another thing on my wishlist, but I’m looking for a really inexpensive pair, so not having a lot of luck. I’m torn between ripped vs not.

  4. I still have my tree up and it won’t come done until the 6th. After it comes down and all the other decorations are put up as well, It always makes me want to rearrange, organize, and spruce things up. Why is that, ha!

I really like the tunic you’re wearing, and how you did the front tuck. I do have a question for you. I’ve never worn Kut from the Kloth jeans. A lot of the reviews on the ones I’m looking at, (they’re skinny jeans on sale) says to size down because of the stretch, but a few reviews say they’re true to size. I’m torn on what size to order.

    Happy New Year!

    1. Hey Penny I’ve never had them either, so I’m not sure what to tell you. Nordstrom makes returns super easy. You could order one of each and return the one you don’t like. Good luck!

  5. I just love this outfit! I ordered the Lush tunic right after Christmas and can’t wait for it to arrive. I love your blog and all of the great outfits you style.

  6. looks FABULOUS. love the maroon- I might need to add that OR the olive green to my wardrobe. I am so boring, I always buy everything in BLACK! lol Seriously its the best tunic EVER- crazy versatile and the colors are fab and the PRICE. Like 25 what?!!!

You look fab as always and those wedges are to DIE for!
