What I Wore This Week 03.03.18

Good morning from Nashville, Tennessee! Paul and I are having a great time. We both love live music and good food, and there is no shortage of any of that here. I’ve been sharing snippets of our trip on my Insta Story so if you’re on Instagram, you can follow along over there. I saved all my Nashville clips to one story on my highlight reel so those won’t disappear after 24 hours.

Today I’m sharing what I wore this week, which is mostly pictures I pulled from my Instagram feed. I try to share what I’m wearing each day if I remember. I wore this outfit to the mall last Saturday with my family, and I shared more about this sweater in Thursday’s blog post. You can get all outfit details HERE.

I wore this next outfit to church on Sunday. It was raining AGAIN, and I was trying to come up with a spring-like look with my rain boots. This sweater is from the #NSale and it’s long gone, but I linked up a few similar. You can get all outfit details HERE.

I believe I wore this on Monday. I was trying out my new glasses, but I don’t like them. I can’t see right with them, and the frames seem too wide for my face. I’m not sure why I didn’t see that when I chose them. When I get home, I have to go back in and see what I can do about fixing this situation. I’ll link up what I’m wearing beneath this picture because I don’t have a LIKEtoKNOW.it link for it. Sometimes I just share my outfits on my Insta Story, and I don’t put them thru LTK.it.

I got this bag on sale a few months back, and it’s on sale again. In fact, there’s a huge private sale going on right now at Tory Burch — if you input your email address, they will let you in. Lots of great bags for amazing prices!

I wore this one day working from home. This sweatshirt came from Old Navy and I couldn’t believe how soft it is. The yellow may be sold out, but there are other colors and patterns available. You can get all outfit details HERE.

This was my travel outfit on Thursday. I just opted for one of my favorite cashmere sweaters, high rise skinny jeans, and Tory Burch travel flats. I debated a heavy coat and ended up wearing this jacket, and it’s been perfect. You can get all outfit details HERE.

This is what I wore our first night out in Nashville. We went to dinner at Rolf and Daughters and then down on Broadway for some live music.

We ended up at Dierk’s Whiskey Row, where the band covered music from about every popular genre from country to pop to rock-and-roll to alternative. They were great. We just hung out there for an hour or two and then walked back to the hotel. I grabbed this picture from my Insta Story, which is why it’s captioned.

jacket: BlankNYC // tee: Banana Republic (old) // jeans: AG (on sale) – similar for less here and here // shoes: Vince Camuto // bag: Loeffler Randall (on sale) – similar for less here (also on sale) // necklace: Stella & Dot (old)

Naturally, I posted this yesterday. I thought it made for a fun Friday Instagram post. I won’t lie, we took about 100 shots to get this one. Haha!

I splurged on these pajamas before our trip. I saw them when we were at the mall last weekend with my girls and they are so soft, I couldn’t resist. Plus I knew they’d make a fun picture for a Friday sometime. You can get the details HERE.

This is what I wore sightseeing yesterday. We visited the Country Music Hall of Fame and took the Studio B Tour. Then we went out to lunch at Husk, which was absolutely phenomenal. I highly recommend it if you’re ever in Nashville. We wandered into the Johnny Cash Museum but didn’t have time to go through it before our lunch reservations. It looked cool though.

I’m so glad I got this jacket before this trip. It’s the perfect weight for the chilly spring weather we tend to get in our area of the country, and it has a nice sleek fit. It comes in several colors, but I chose black because a) it was on sale and b) I like the chic vibe. The khaki color has navy blue lining, which makes it seem more casual. You can get all outfit details HERE.

And finally, here’s what I wore last night. I don’t love the shoes and bag with this, but I threw the jacket and cami in my suitcase on a whim at the very last minute because I had some extra space, and I didn’t think through the entire outfit. See, even when I “over pack” there is always something else I could have brought!

We were planning to go back down to Broadway to find some live music, but then we discovered the alley behind our hotel had a few spots that were much quieter. We wandered into the Bourbon Street Blues and Boogie Bar, and it was a blast. The musicians were good, but the people watching opportunity was beyond fantastic. Ha!

We found a good table and hung out there for hours and then just came back to our hotel. We’re so not the people to hop around from place to place and fight crowds.

So that’s it! We didn’t make any plans for today other than dinner at Puckett’s, so we’re trying to decide what to do after we shoot a couple of outfits this morning. (That doesn’t take long.) I’m voting the Green Hills Mall, but I think Paul may have other preferences, ha! So we’ll see.

Have a great weekend, and I hope those of you in the wake of that nasty winter storm yesterday are safe and warm.

  1. If you like history, Andrew Jackson’s home, The Hermitage, is lovely. I would think there might be some great spots for photos too! Enjoy Nashville!

  2. I love all of your outfits, especially the cozy pj’s!  Looks like y’all are having a great time and good weather.  I’ve heard that the hotels in Nashville are extremely expensive.  Do you agree?  Have a great Saturday!

  3. The Parthenon would make a really cool photo session! Did you check out the Reiman? You really can’t go wrong in Nashville food wise. Last time we were there our daughter and her beau took us to a really cool restaurant on the river that had a bowling alley and a pool. We are overdue on our next visit down there.
Have fun the rest of your stay.

  4. I’m with Paul! There is so much to see in Nashville. Why waste it in the mall?
You look very relaxed, Jo-Lynne. It’s nice to get away from home & kids, if only for a weekend. Enjoy the rest of your day.
    Those pjs are perfect!

  5. If you want to make a short trip south of Nashville, the town of Franklin is a fantastic place to visit! We lived there 10+ years and it will not disappoint (and they also have a pretty good mall-not Green Hills good, but still good shopping).

    1. I’ve been to Franklin once and I thought it was adorable. We just stayed in town and did some more honkey tonks and toured the Ryman. 🙂 We have to Uber or Lyft if we go anywhere that’s out of the downtown vicinity so we decided we’d just stay close. Honestly, we’re winding down and kind of tired, lol. #oldfogies

  6. Sounds like you’re having the best time. YAY! Some of my girlfriends and I tried to go to Puckett’s the last time I was there and the wait was too long. Boooo! Can’t wait to hear what you think about it. Happy Saturday! Next to the beach, Nashville is my happy place. XO

  7. Just curious – You said you were not in love with the shoes & bag with last night’s outfit – what would be your preference? I do like the look but always look for options. I have enjoyed your trip..

      1. I like the light shoes — it looks more fashionable. Black shoes would be expected and boring. The light accessories make the outfit.

  8. If you are still there. Hermitage – phenomenal. Fontenal – Barbara mandrel last former log home. Great hands on tour. Belmont mansion – another great historic tour. Belle Meade Plantation. Or take a drive to Franklin. P.s. you can shop anytime. Oh and go to bi-centennial mall near the state house. It’s so good and so much history.

  9. Go to Franklin, TN. It is a beautiful 30 minute drive if you stay off the interstate. Lots of shops, restaurants and several historic houses to go through, complete with bullet holes still in the walls and floors from the battle of Franklin during the Civil War.

  10. Love all the outfits!  Do you do any one on one consulting Jolynne?  I’m in Philly burbs too and could sure use your advice!  For a fee of course!!!!

    1. Hey Ruby, it’s not something I’ve really considered. I’ve had people joke that they’d like me to dress them, but I always say I can barely dress myself, ha! I’m not sure how good I’d be in one-on-one consulting.

  11. I was in our local Old Navy store the other day, and they still have that sweatshirt in the store – in most sizes. So if someone wants it, they might try a store. It’s really cute in person, and fit is true to size.
