Mom Style: What I Wore This Week 09.14.11

Thanks to my shopping spree at Nordstrom Rack last weekend, I have some new outfits for the What I Wore Wednesday blog carnival this week! WOO!

WEDNESDAY:

This is my, “I might go to the gym today” outfit. Of course I know I won’t, but I am pretending that I might so I can get away with wearing an elastic waistband all day.

Okay, in my defense, it was rainy out and I was going nowhere, and at least they are cute workout clothes, right? I actually love this top from Under Armour. It’s a new style they have out now, and it’s a bit more feminine than the other tops I have from them. (The bottoms are by Nike, I believe.)

I’ll do better tomorrow. I promise.

THURSDAY:

Thursday was Fashion’s Night Out at the King of Prussia Mall, and I was one of the stylists for the fashion show at Neiman Marcus! I pulled this old dress from the back of my closet and wore it with my favorite GNO shoes. Earlier in the day I painted my toenails moss green and my fingernails grey. It’s officially fall when I forego my favorite bright nail colors for the more subdued neutrals.

Dress :: Maggie London (from Nordstrom.com a few years ago)

Shoes :: Boutique 9 (on sale at Bloomingdales, a few years ago)

Earrings :: Stella & Dot (from their new fall collection!)

Gold Cuff :: I can’t remember.

FRIDAY:

Hmm… no recollection. Oh yeah, that was the day I was recovering from my night out and then R’s night of croup. She was home sick with a fever all day, and I’m pretty sure I never got out of my jammies.

SATURDAY:

Saturday was the day I got my hair cut! After looking at pictures of myself on Thursday night, I decided it was time to go shorter again. The front just won’t grow in, and it’s a constant battle. I’m sick of it. I am also opting not to color it for a while, in case the processing is contributing to the thinning hair problem I’ve been having.

SUNDAY:

I wore this to church.

Dress :: MaxStudio from Nordstrom Rack

Red Purse :: Hobo International (I picked it up at T.J.Maxx a few years ago — it’s such a great red bag!!)

Black Patent Sling Backs :: Franco Sarto (on sale at Bloomingdales a few years ago)

Necklace :: I can’t remember. Wish I’d gotten a close-up. It’s really cute.

AND I took a few shots of the hair-do. It looks and feels so much thicker. The front is still really sparse, but when I tuck it behind my ears, you can’t even tell.

She took about a half inch or so off the front and about 2 inches off the back. I actually wish the layers were shorter. I tried to get her to cut more of the top layers, so the angle is more dramatic, but she thought we should see how this works for me. Maybe next time I can get her to work with the back a bit more.

MONDAY:

I actually wore this to our church picnic on Sunday, but I didn’t get a shot of it, and it was still clean so I threw it on again for another day. I think I like the tank better with the rolled up skinny jeans than with the shorts. Since the top is long, the proportions work better with pants on the bottom.

grey striped tank top :: Emily Blu from Nordstrom Rack

skinnies :: Paige from Bloomies

t-strap sandals :: Frye from Nordstrom (these were last summer’s pre-BlogHer splurge)

grey handbag :: birthday gift from my mom

TUESDAY:

Tuesday was quite a day! I had to take my daughter to get her kindergarten immunizations in the morning, then after I dropped her at school, I went to the dentist and got a temporary crown on one of my pathetic teeth. After that I ran to Trader Joe’s and then came home and cooked for a dinner guest. All in all, a CRAZY day!

black tank top :: Gap

straight-leg stretch jeans :: Citizens (sale at Bloomies)

silver sandals :: Target

grey bag :: Garnet Hill; birthday gift from my mom

hoop earrings and bracelet :: Neimans

Don’t forget to visit What I Wore Wednesday blog carnival at The Pleated Poppy!

Disclosure: Nordstrom Rack sent me a $100 gift card to spend in their store. I spent about twice that! Everything else in this post was purchased by me or was a gift from mom or hubby.
