What To Get the Guy Who Has Everything

Every year when Father’s Day rolls around, I start the seemingly futile search to find a thoughtful gift for each of the special men in my life.

Both my dad and my husband pretty much have everything they need or want… at least within the parameters of my budget, and I’ve exhausted all the obvious gifts. I swear, my dad would probably need another set of fingers and toes to count all the golf shirts he’s received from me over the years, ha!

Ironically, he’s wearing one of them in the first picture I found when I went searching for some Father’s Day imagery.

(Note to self: take more pictures with Dad. I can’t believe I can’t find any more recent than this!)

Judging from the comments I receive this time of year and requests for gift ideas, I expect many of you are in the same boat when it comes to Father’s Day gift giving. We all want to honor the important men in our lives, but it gets harder and harder to come up with ideas as the years ago by.

Well, guess what? You don’t have to ask yourself the age-old question this year because Macy’s is coming to the rescue with a large variety of fragrance gift sets just in time for Father’s Day.

When I was invited to partner on this post, I decided to head over to my local Macy’s store to check out their offerings and choose a scent. The reviews on their website are very helpful, but I thought it would be nice to see their selection first-hand so I can report back.

Now, mind you, I don’t talk fragrance — the only notes I’m familiar with belong on a treble clef — so I was overwhelmed at first.

I fortunately happened upon an extremely knowledgeable sales associate who was able to make sense of my decidedly non-technical terminology, and he helped me choose a fragrance that is exactly what I had in mind.

I lost count of how many different fragrances I sampled, but I kept coming back to Versace Eau So Fraiche.

Evidently this scent has been around for several years, but it continues to be popular among men’s fragrances, and I can see why. Versace Eau So Fraiche has a clean, fresh scent with that “fresh from the shower” summer smell — perfect for this time of year.

This gift set that includes the full 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette Spray as well as a 5 oz. Bath & Shower Gel — both for the price of the solo 3.4 oz Eau de Toilette Spray!

Plus it comes in a beautiful box for gift giving.

Best of all, I’m all squared away for Father’s Day gifts, and it isn’t even June yet! *pats self on back*

Macy’s has over 250 of the world’s finest fragrances all under one roof, so if you’re looking for a thoughtful gift for a special dad in your life this Father’s Day, you are certain to find something perfect for him there.

If you’re unsure of what to buy, you can also take the Macy’s Fragrance Quiz to find his (or your) next scent!

Or save yourself the trouble, and order this one. I’m positive you won’t be disappointed.

  1. I got my husband a bottle keeper? I found it online and it’s for your beer bottles to keep them cold. I think he’s going to be pretty excited! SO hard to find gifts for men…I struggle.
Side note…I got my shirts from Ann Taylor that you recommended and they are amazing!!! I got a blush pink and the black. Fit perfect and super comfortable. Yay!!!

  2. That Versace fragrance has to be one of the best ever!!! I received a sample of it and absolutely HAD to get it for my husband! Such a good choice!!!

  3. My husband doesn’t wear cologne, never has in 34 married/38 together yrs. But I do enjoy smelling all sorts of new scents when I’m out and about on the mall. Father’s Day gifts are primarily the responsibility of our kids, but our 4 legged children/dogs who are still at home surprise their master with a gift bag of assorted favorites…lottery tickets, bottle of wine, sunflower seeds, razors, socks, boxers, a sleeve of golf balls, hot sauce, sunscreen, chapstick, to name a few. My husband does read a lot so books are always a winner, gift cards for a round of golf are very satisfying and a unique clothing item from a favorite sports team will get lots of use. I have noticed that his duffel bag for traveling is getting a bit tattered and torn so that will be an added suggestion to our son and daughter. Thanks again Jo-Lynne for covering such a nice variety of topics in your blog…fashion, house reveals, gift giving, family trips, health, makeup, etc. I enjoy your blog immensely!

  4. Not on the topic of scents or Fathers Day but when I first looked at the picture of your Dad I saw a strong resemblance to your son!

  5. Have no idea if it
s still made by Neiman Marcus sold something called Zarahoff for men. It made me unable to recite the alphabet it smelled so good!
