What to Wear with Pink Jeans

My pink jeans were one of my favorite wardrobe items last summer, and if possible, they’re an even hotter trend this year than they were last year. I’m seeing them everywhere.

Pink pairs well with almost any neutral, including denim and chambray, but my favorite pairing is pink and white. There’s just something so fresh and springy about this color combination.

These pink released-hem skinnies were another Shopbop sale purchase. I have a lighter pink pair that I wore nearly to death last year, and I still have them, but I really love this more saturated primrose color with their sun-faded, washed down look.

The fit on these is pretty amazing. The twill fabric has a great stretch and recovery that allows them to mold to your body, and they don’t bag out throughout the day.

They’re also incredibly soft, and I love the subtle whiskering. Sometimes whiskering can look really cheesy, but 7 For All Mankind did a great job with these. I also like the released raw hem detail.

For size reference, I have the 28 in these. That’s my typical size in 7FAM jeans.

For a more budget-friendly option, check out these Gap skinny ankle jeans in Wild Rose. With the discount code SPRING, they come down to $45.

I’d been looking high and low for a white sweater to wear with pastel colored jeans this spring and with denim shorts this summer, but I kept coming up dry until I found this pullover.

I never would have noticed it on my own — it looks so plain online, but a fellow blogger featured this during the Shopbop sale and said how cozy and comfy it is, so I grabbed it while it was 25% off.

It’s a bit more casual than what I originally had in mind — it’s more of a cross between a sweater and a sweatshirt — but it’s soooo soft and cozy that I couldn’t part with it.

I love the easy worn-in look, the extra long sleeves, and the relaxed but not oversized shape. I’m sure I’ll get a lot of wear out of it.

For size reference, this is a small. Also, I found it at Bloomingdale’s, and it’s part of their spend more/save more sale, but you do have to order more than just this top to qualify. (Incidentally, read their reviews if you don’t believe me about how amazingly comfy this top is.)

To keep it casual, I wore my Vans pinked suede slip-on sneakers. The color I have is called Silver Lining/Blanc De Blanc, and it’s a great neutral silvery-grey.

These sneakers are extremely comfortable and required practically no breaking-in period. I like them a lot as an alternative to the Converse Shoreline style I often wear.

I added a necklace because I always feel the need to wear something to break up a shirt that’s this plain, especially with such a high neck, but it’s such an uber casual style that I almost feel like the necklace is overkill.

There’s no right or wrong here, though; it’s just a matter of preference. What do you think?

Unfortunately this necklace is old, and the Haitian coin pendant that is another casual favorite of mine has also been discontinued. I like a necklace with a thicker chain and more of a matte metal finish with my casual outfits.

Today’s look is my favorite type of outfit — cute, casual, and oh-so-comfy.

I’ve already worn this pullover with blue jeans and these Vans for a day at home, and I can’t wait to pair it with shorts on cool summer nights and when we’re on vacation in Maine. And these jeans are going to be on serious repeat this spring.

  1. I have jeans with that exact hem and I love it because for me they are the perfect length… and I love the detail.. I also love the sofa pic… you look right at home😀

  2. This is ‘spot on’ my kinda casual!! It’s the way I dress everyday for my retired living. I have a pair of pink jeans that I love as well. Thanks for posting this. You’re beautiful, as always and I love gleaning knowledge from you on clothes, designs, etc.

  3.  What a cute outfit. And you know it’s so strange I would’ve thought to pair any other color shirt with pink jeans but white. Don’t ask me why because I wear a white T-shirt with jeans. But white goes perfectly with that! 😁

I hope you have a great day!

  4. I love this look (as I do most of your others as well). Your manicure is very pretty so could you please share with us the polish? Thanks for all you do!

    1. Unfortunately I don’t know the name of this one. It’s a CND shellac, and it’s a lilac with some metallic in it. I can ask tomorrow – if I remember. I’m going in for a mani, and they will know.

  5. Love the pink and white! I am SUCH a scarf girl, so I would add a beautiful, soft, floral scarf to your outfit!!! I am sure you’ll wear that white sweater a LOT, even in the summer in Maine!

  6. I like the necklace. It keeps the look from being boring. I do love a cozy shirt, but summer is NOT the time for them in Texas. 🙁 I do love it when you talk about cool nights, it makes me think of Colorado. Thanks for the pink jeans inspiration!

  7. I love your cozy outfit! I just ordered some pink jeans and can’t wait until they come (hopefully today)! I think this is a great look for the spring season! Have a great day!

  8. Hi Jo-Lynn! I’ve been super busy in the last 6 months and rarely have time to open my blogger mail but I did this morning and I love the pink jeans! I recently purchased  light pink ankle pants and I’ve discovered so many options in my closet for them. I’m wearing them this week to work and I’m going to wear a navy blouse. I just wanted to throw that combo at you so that you can consider it as well. Your pink is deeper than mine tho. Happy Easter!

  9. Love the pink jeans.  Fit and color look great (as an aside – I love 7FAMK.  I have a pair of jean jeans that are among my favorites).  Question – though it looks nice on you, I look washed out in white (even soft white).  Are there other color suggestions you would have (I don’t look great in beige or oatmeal on top either)?  I love the pink jeans (I ponder getting them often), but end up putting them back because I get stuck with a top.  Are there other things you wear with yours?  Thanks in advance, and thanks as always for giving me better things to think about than work!  🙂

  10. Don’t you look great in this outfit!  Oh how I wish I lived in a cooler climate where I could get a lot of wear out of that top.  The jeans are fabulous as well!  And I do like the long necklace with the outfit.  It’s still casual, but the necklace steps it up a notch.  Have a blessed day!

  11. That is a great look, I love the pic on the sofa also, so comfortable which is big for me. I like the VANS slip on sneakers. I think I’ll go check out the VANS store in our Mall. I have three pair of CONVERSE sneakers and seldom wear them because they hurt my feet if I actual need to walk in them. Such a shame because I love the look, I think I’ll give the VANS a try though.

  12. I like the pendant with the shirt. It adds a little something to a plain, white sweatshirt. You’ve convinced me to wear those pink chinos I bought last year on impulse then never wore. Any other ideas for colours to mix?

  13. Hi Jo-Lynne,
What a pretty outfit ! That’s what I need to wear most of the spring and summer here in the Adirondacks! I have a question about your bag in this post. Is it a very light gray- almost a tinted white ? Or an actual gray? It appears very light in your photos, especially next to your shoes and sweater. I almost ordered it, but on the website it looks more gray, similar to a bag I have already. I love the style, and the silver hardware. Wishing you a Blessed Easter ,
    Wendy

    1. Hey Wendy. It’s definitely on the grey spectrum but it has a lot of white in it. This bag also comes in white, so there’s definitely a difference. Hope that helps.

  14. Cute jeans! I like the released hem on them too. Do you happen to know the inseam on those?
On another note, my AT floral skirt arrived a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it! I’ve worn it twice already -once with black tights and black suede heeled boots with a black AT wrap front sweater, & then yesterday we had mid 70s weather and I wore it with my black patent Tory Burch Miller sandals and a white tee and a thin weight black linen cardigan. I’ve gotten soooo many compliments on it. In fact a fellow teacher (a man) told me my skirt was “totes adorbs” yesterday! 😁  (He’s a funny one)
Anyway thank you for showing it during your try-on  session at AT last month!!!

    1. I am so glad you love that floral skirt! Are you taller than I am? I’m 5’5″ — I think it would look better on someone taller. Or maybe I should try a petite.

Every website has a different inseam measurement for these – how is that even possible? I just measured mine – size 28. The inseam is 26.5″ and the front rise is 9″.

      1. So I might try ordering the pink jeans and see how they fit. They look great on you!
I’m a few inches taller than you, 5’9” but I bet the petite in that floral skirt would work for you. I love it!

  15. Love the pink jeans! I like my camo green jacket w mine 🙂
BTw.. I was in loft today and they hve a new white sweater ! Thought about your issue w the neck hole .  The new one doesn’t have that issue 😜

    1. I like the idea of the camo jacket! I many need to get one just for this purpose. I’d love to see a link to the sweater. I still want one that’s a bit dressier than this.

  16. JoLynne, I have been following you for sometime now, years actually. You are absolutely the best. Your attention to detail never fails and we can always rely on an honest opinion of how something fits and wears. Why, I even joined Instagram because I didn’t want to miss anything. LOL My daughters make fun of me for calling you my friend, but that’s how I feel. You are truly my “girlfriend “ who teaches me about fashion. Sincerely, May God bless you and your family this Easter. Sharon.
