Wherein She Collapses From Shock and Excitement

I have so many exciting things to tell you, I don’t even know where to begin.  First off, I will let you in on my little secret.  I think I gave enough hints that most of you figured it out already, but if you are a little slow on the uptake, or just tuning in, yes, dcrmom is designing blogs!  (Why do I feel like talking in the third person all of the sudden?)

This whole venture came about quite unexpectedly, and I have the fabulous Jules of Everyday Design to thank for encouraging and mentoring me.  One day I hope to be half the designer she is.  For now, well, let’s not think about how far I have to go.  It can get a mite overwhelming.  But I’m having a ball and learning more each day.  It’s sort of like scrapbooking, except I can pick up the stickers and move them thirty-hundred times, and they never lose their sticky or rip apart!

My design style is kind of like my fashion style — plain and simple.  There aren’t a lot of bells and whistles, but if you want a clean, fresh blog design, I’m your gal.  All that to say, if you are interested in an affordable new look for your blog, look no further than DCR Design!

But wait!  There’s more!  Don’t click away just yet.

Because as if that isn’t exciting enough, the next part is REALLY huge.  I mean, REALLY.  So huge, in fact, that it really should get its own post.  But I don’t want to inundate your feed reader with eleventy-two posts from dcrmom this morning, and I still have a Fight The Frump post to put up.

So here it is.

A few months ago, I received an email from a company that occasionally contacts me for hosting giveaways and passing along interesting information to the bloggy world.  And in that email, I was asked if I might be interested in attending a small mom blogger event hosted by, get this — Disney World.  As in Mickey Mouse and Cinderella.  Yeah, THAT Disney World.

Would I be interested?  Like anyone in their right mind would NOT be interested in an expenses-paid, child-free getaway to Disney World with a group of fun mom bloggers.  What-EV-er.

So of course I emailed right back with some incoherent run-on sentence full of exclamation points basically saying, yes, of course I’m interested, when, where, and how high do I jump?

Well, some time went by, and I figured it was all too good to be true.  I mean, come on.  Doesn’t that sound too good to be true?

But then yesterday, what did I receive in my email but a message from a nice lady at Disney with my official invitation??????!!! Within a matter of hours, I had approval from the hubby and confirmed plane tickets to Disney world!!!

Did you hear that?  I’M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD!!!!!  Just in case you hadn’t gotten that loud and clear already.

AND.

Yes, it gets even better.  Cause guess who else is going?

Just guess.

Okay, I’ll tell you — my good blogging buddy Steph from Adventures in Babywearing!!!!!  Let’s just saying the emails were FLYING back and forth yesterday.  Of course, most of them focused around what on EARTH are we going to wear, and omigosh, don’t tell me I have to find a swimsuit.

We’re just a teensy-weensy bit excited. Not about the swimsuit part.  But about the rest ofi it.

So THAT is what I’ve been dying to tell you.

Also.  Speaking of nothing remotely related to beauty product reviews.  I have a post up at Chic Critique today about tinted moisturizers.  If you’re on the lookout for one, you won’t want to miss my post.   And if you have one you love, please share with the rest of us!

Oh, and I have news on the Chic Critique front as well.  Stay tuned.

Okay, after all that, I’m thinking my Fight The Frump post will have to wait.  Not that I wouldn’t like to sit here and chat the morning away, but y’all know how it is.  I’ve got kids to raise and blogs to design!  So check back in later today to see what I have to say about fighting the frump dcrmom style!
