Winter Poncho Outfit – Perfect for Thanksgiving!

Happy Friday from Nashville, Tennessee! I’m here at a work conference, and Cyndi and I are rooming together, which is super fun!

While I’m away, C is taking a turn on the blog with a winter poncho outfit.

She found this poncho when we were shopping at LOFT one day last week, and she fell in love with it. In fact, she’s already worn it two or three times.

It’s a gorgeous grey-blue, and the cable stitching and fringe detail make it really fun. This poncho has really nice drape, and on the thicker side, so it’s good for a chilly day.

The way it’s designed, you don’t have to wear a shirt underneath, but you will probably at least want a tank top. A long-sleeve tee is the perfect under layer for colder climates.

This long sleeve crewneck tee is perfect for wearing under cardigans and ponchos in the fall and winter. C and I both have one. I wear the small, and she wears the XS.

This poncho is long enough to wear with leggings, but C went with skinny jeans and booties.

These jeans are from Articles of Society — they’re not bad for the price point, although she did find them to be big in the waist. She’s wearing a 26, for reference.

She accessorized with these Kendra Scott earrings. She saved up for these and bought them when she came with me to the Kendra Scott Color Bar Party I hosted earlier in the fall.

And before you ask, yes, this poncho does fit under a coat. C has worn it comfortably with a longer puffer coat on top.

Her Blondo booties are from last year, but there are a lot of great options this season, and some are even on sale right now.

You may notice, she wears her skinny jeans inside her booties, which I usually can’t do. I think it’s because she is so much thinner than I am, and the pant opening on her jeans is smaller than on mine, so they fit inside the bootie without looking bunchy.

I usually cuff mine, but either works. It just depends on your specific jeans and boot combination.

This outfit is perfect for casual everyday wear, but I also think it’s a nice option for Thanksgiving, depending on your venue and what you’ll be doing. I wouldn’t wear it if I had to be in the kitchen, but I’m usually a guest so it’s perfect for that!

  1. This is such a cute outfit!  I love that look of a shorter sleeve sweater or poncho with the long sleeved tee underneath and this poncho does look as if it has nice drape.  Caroline looks so good and I like how she puts it together – timeless/ageless.

Enjoy your time at the conference!

  2. Caroline looks so cute in this poncho!  I love that she is bracing fashion and willing to wear what she likes and not what everyone else her age is wearing. I can’t even get my daughter into a Loft and she’s twenty three.
