Winter Ready with Bloomingdale’s

Greetings, friends! Happy Wednesday and welcome back to 25 Days of Winter Fashion! Today I’m teaming up with Bloomingdale’s to share a cold weather winter look that is both chic and functional.

I’m ready for anything winter can dish out in these fur-trim Sorel boots, leather tech gloves, and cozy plaid blanket scarf.

A quality pair of cold weather boots is a staple in my winter wardrobe, and the brand I always think of first when I think of winter boots is Sorel. A few years ago, I took the plunge and finally got myself a pair, and I’ve never looked back. In addition to keeping your feet warm and dry, they are super chic and fun to wear.

This year I added this Joan of Arctic style to my winter wardrobe, and I am absolutely smitten. They have that classy but edgy vibe that I love, and they are soooo warm and comfortable.

These boots are fully waterproof, and they have a felt lining and shearling details that keep your feet toasty warm. I don’t even usually wear socks with mine. I just pull them on over my skinny jeans and I’m good to go!

Here in the northeast, we have a lot of snowy, icy, messy weather, and there’s nothing worse than ruining a good pair of leather boots in the elements, so I often wear my winter boots when it’s not even snowing. If it’s cold and messy out, these are the perfect solution. You can bring along a pair of flats to change into when you get where you’re going if you’ll be inside for a while.

Of course your feet aren’t the only body part you need to protect when it’s cold outside. My neck and hands are always cold so I almost always wear a scarf and gloves when the temps dip below 40º.

These leather tech gloves are perfect because they are gorgeous and functional. I’m not one to be without the use of my iPhone, but with these, I can operate my phone and keep my hands warm at the same time.

These gloves have touch-sensitive technology on all fingers and even the palm, plus they have Thinsulate insulation to keep your fingers nice and warm. They would make a fabulous holiday gift for the stylish and tech-savvy woman in your life.

This plaid blanket scarf is another awesome gift idea, or a nice little to-me, from-me gift! After all, you’ve been a good girl this year, right???

This scarf is part of the 100% Bloomingdale’s collection that features exclusive pieces you won’t find anywhere else. It’s super soft and cozy warm, and it has a nice weight to it — not too thick, not too thin, and the frayed edges are a nice touch.

Finally, you know how I said I was looking for the perfect black turtleneck!?! FOUND!!!

Y’all know how I’m a sucker for cashmere, but I always try to buy it on sale so I was thrilled when I saw this sweater marked 43% off! Plus today it is eligible for the $25 off every $200 you spend promo Bloomingdale’s is running. This turtleneck is soooo soft, you guys.

I have a v-neck cashmere sweater from this AQUA brand that I bought last year around this time, and it has held up beautifully, so I was happy to add another piece to my closet.

While this sweater also comes in plain black, I opted for the black donegal. You can still wear it with anything you’d wear a black turtleneck with, but the donegal adds a nice element of interest. I like how it has a traditional fit and raised seams for added interest.

For size reference, I’m wearing the small, and it’s plenty roomy as you can see. I like how it fits close to the body without being clingy. If you’re in the market for a classic cashmere turtleneck, I highly recommend this one, and it comes in a plethora of gorgeous colors.

Altogether this casual outfit will take you pretty much anywhere you need to go this winter where you’ll need to brave the elements, and Bloomingdale’s is running an awesome promo today if you want to add any of these pieces to your closet — take $25 off every $200 you spend, so the more you spend, the more you save! (I just knocked a few more gifts off my Christmas list, woohoo!)

There are some exclusions, so look for the yellow-highlighted TAKE 25% OFF on each item. You can also get Triple Points on all items when you shop on a Bloomingdale’s Credit Card. Even if you don’t have a card, I recommend signing up for their Lloyalist program so you get free shipping and returns. They also offer Shoprunner, which is awesome because it gives you 2-day free shipping. And if you need something super fast, you can always order online and opt for store pickup. I do this a lot!

As always, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have in the comments. Hope y’all have a happy Thanksgiving Eve!

  1. You’re all set for the chilly weather to come and looking cute to boot.
The leather tech gloves would be perfect gifts for my two daughters. I just started my Christmas shopping yesterday. Yikes! I better step up my game.

  2. You look so ready for snow. Love the sweater and scarf and your hair looks fabulous. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family. Enjoy your weekend. *Lisa*

  3. I absolutely love this outfit because this is basically how I need to be dressed for my life as a mom and babysitter. Thank you so much for this post!
( I was a little panicked when my 10am email from you didn’t arrive but this was definitely worth waiting for) ????
Happy Thanksgiving beautiful blogger “friend”. I am grateful for your fashion advice and your emails that brighten my day!

  4. I love how put together, stylish and warm you look in this outfit, Jo-Lynne. I plan to copy it from items in my closet! Do you find your Joan of Arc boots heavy? I had them for years and ended up giving them away and getting a pair of lighter-weight North Face boots.
Happy Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful day tomorrow, everyone!

    1. Hm, no, not really. But I guess they could be lighter? I just love the styling and the warmth and the comfort of the footbed, and I didn’t notice that they were super heavy or bulky.

  5. Do you think the Hudson jeans run a little large? I have recently gotten a pair and they seem to stretch out a bit more than I expected and ride down a little bit, so I’m wondering if I should maybe size down in the future, or if it’s just a fluke with my current pair. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, and thank you for all that you do!

    1. Yes, they do. I wear the same size as I do in AG but they definitely have more stretch than some – esp in the waist. These black ones don’t have as much stretch as the blue and grey ones I’ve had in the past.

  6. What a great winter outfit. We do see winter here where I am in Canada on the East coast. Whether cold for snow or warmer for rain… (  I hope for rain) ha!! I say you can never have too many coats so I don’t count mine lol… like I say when you leave the house the only thing people are going to see is what your wearing over everything else so make a statement and thus outfit you’ve shared certainly does. It’s all in the coat and accessories ????
    Happy thanksgiving to all
    Blessings

  7. Wow!!!!! You did a lot to get out this post. You absolutely look adorable. Everything just looks like you. Love those boots. My daughter owns a pair and I’ve always wanted a pair. I have a cheaper similar style I need to wear out first. We really don’t get much snowy weather where I live. Enjoy your Thanksgiving.

  8. I ordered this turtleneck after you posted this  and I love it! Can you let me know if the boots run TTS? I checked the reviews and one person said they run small. Can you confirm? Thank you!

    1. Hey Shannon, I got thrown off by that too. I ordered a 7.5 and they were too small so I sent them back and got an 8. I usually wear 8 or 8.5 in boots, so I’d say they’re TTS.
